WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!???? NONE of these words me anything to me!!! LOLOLOL!!!

ahh, the joys of the English language! of course if we really wanted to confuse you, someone would mention cockney rhyming slang! ;)

This thread is FUNNY! and cockney rhyming slang..... Let's do it!

Boat race and apples and pears ha ha now this could get very confusing :haha:

Cockney slang!

Battle Cruiser - Boozer (pub)
Dog & Bone - Phone
Frog & Toad - Down the road
You having a bubble? (as in bubble bath!) - You having a laugh?
Chevy Chase - Face
Barnet (as in Barnet Fair) - Hair
Brown Bread - Dead
Have a Butcher's (as in a Butcher's Hook) - Have a Look
My old China (as in China Plate) - My old mate
Donkey's (as in Donkey's ears) - Years
Jack Jones - Alone
Shut your North & South - Shut your mouth!
It's all gone Pete Tong - Wrong
Tea Leaf - Thief

Hahaha that's all I can think of right now! These are the ones I've learnt from my OH & his mates. And just to confuse you guys across the pond a bit more, not everybody from London is a ''Cockney''! To be classed as a true Cockney you must be born within hearing distance of the bells of Bow Church  (Bow's an area within London) x

hahah cockney slang would defo do it....

although alot off them i think most ppl use not just londoners

lol at rubbers and erasers. I say "rubbers".

I dont get the drink thing. When people go to a bar or wherever, and say "Can I have a soda?" what do you get? Lemonade???
I've asked this before, but still dont understand!! :dohh:

I'd expect to get soda water if I asked for soda!

 Me too!

lol we call it Pop, if you go to a bar and ask for a soda they would give you soda water. lol "gin and soda" would be soda water and gin.

For me soda is more the states.

Where I live we mostly refer to it as pop, but then were not to far from the Canadian border. I started to randomly call it soda when my friend moved to MN from CA.
