well done for making it past 2 years, both of you; that's such an awesome milestone! I'm still hoping Harry makes it to the 2 year mark, even though he only nurses once a day now.
Cleckner, no idea if this might help or not, but when a friend of mind wanted to cut down on feeds (her 3 yr old just wouldn't take no for an answer), she started first with night weaning, which was a lot easier than she expected (The Leaky Boob on Facebook has been blogging about their gentle night weaning transition recently), then during the day, she changed the way she dressed, so that nothing was 'easy access' for her LO to get into... She planned a ton of activities everyday that were out and about, because she noticed her LO fed less when out of the home, and offered lots of other drinks and snacks throughout the day as alternatives..... after a couple of weeks, they managed to drop from 10 or so BFs a day to just 3, which she found much more manageable and less tiring and also, in her case, more 'socially acceptable' for her age. There were tantrums the first couple of days, but then she naturally adjusted really well, and though my friend felt a bit guilty at first, she's now really thankful she tried it, because she was getting to the point where she wanted to quit altogether, but just cutting down has made her feel 100% better about it all. Like i said, no idea if that would help in the slightest, but just thought i'd share. x
