Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

We are doing pretty great here! Emma is feeding mornings, naptime, and bedtime now! Which is exactly what I wanted. Every once in a while she'll wake once in the night for some too but not every night.

My DH is gone until October now so I'm the only one able to distract her now. I'm hoping she doesn't up her amount of feeds again because of this.

Glad you are getting the whole nursing thing in a place you want :) Hope she does well with daddy gone too! x

that's great news about Emma's feeding; bet you feel like a woman renewed!

 Fantastic news about Emma's nursing! So glad a you've found something that works well for you both.

Evie has good and bad days with nursing.

Sometimes she will like Emma, morning, nap and bed and other days she will want it constantly!

Im going to start dieting very soon as ive been a little naughty over the summer and indulged a little too much, im pretty sure it ok to diet while BF right?

Hi ladies we've hit 6 months today and have no plans to stop - can I come and play ???

:hi: MumtoJ Welcome! Congratulations on your 6 month milestone too! :happydance:

miss_bump- Yes it's okay to diet! As long as you aren't starving yourself or anything extreme. :haha: I have a breastfeeders weight loss group on here but I haven't been good about keeping it up. I keep asking for someone else to take over and no one has volunteered. So feel free to volunteer if you want to take it over!:rofl:

I'm still somewhat losing weight but it's a battle with DH home from deployment. We use those opportunities to go to man vs. food restaurants around town. We went to this place that has a giant 12 egg omelet with chili and cheese smothering the top of it. *drools*

But I'm back on it now that he's gone for a month. Myfitnesspal online is an amazing tool to help lose weight. :flower:

Welcome MumtoJ!!

Well I think our journey has finally come to an end and I did not expect to be so sad about it. She has just turned 21/2 and I was trying to figure out if I could help her self wean (was thinking about the lemon juice). In the end it was a lot more straightforward. She asked me on Friday if she could have one of my bracelets and I said that it was for grown up girls. She said she was a grown up girl so I said that she wasnt as she still had mummy milk and if she wanted it she would have to stop and she said yes. Did not think anything more at the time but she has not asked for it once since then (2 days) so I think that is it.
I did not expect it to be so sad now that its over. I am pleased to get to 30 months and I know she must have been ready but it was very sudden!
We are going to ttc in the new year though so I guess if we do it can start all over again

Hugs hun, no matter how much we want it its stil an end of an era xx

I think Thomas might be weaning too. It has been two nights now with no breastfeed. I have been doing 'don't offer don't refuse' for his bedtime feed and a little bit of distraction with a bedtime story. For the last two nights he hasn't asked. I'm a bit sad but glad too as we are TTC.

Hi ladies! I thought I'd come join in as I feel a bit more like an "extended" bfer now!
My HV asked me today if I was still breastfeeding and also told me it would stop being his main source of nutrition soon. I smiled and nodded :)

I hope I'm STILL feeding when some of you ladies are

Congrats on 7 months, I know what you mean though, I just keep smiling and nodding what they don't know wont hurt them ;-).

We have just started weaning, but I think it will be some time before "food" replaces boobies, and I am hoping that boobies stay part of the diet for a long time to come.

I was about to go on a food just for fun before 1 rant at her, but held back!

:hi: DazedConfused! Welcome! x

Quartz and Polaris- You've both made it to some amazing milestones, and if your journey stops here, you've done such a fab job! I'm sure it would be sad, regardless of their age but you can stop knowing you've given your children such an amazing start in life and continued until they were ready to stop :hugs: Well done ladies!

Thank you everyone - we have definitely stopped she told me she no longer likes mummymilk and she is now a big girl! Really pleased to have reached when we did and that it ended with her being happy and easily!

Congrats everyone on there milestones.

What a lovely way to end the breastfeeding journey!
