Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

my near 11 month old still dosnt want solids he has only started to nibble on things I give him now, relax. breastfeed babies sometimes start later.

Well, I think my little one may be finished with the boob. For the past week or so she's not too interested anymore. Sucks for 5 seconds, pulls off...repeat 5-6 times before I stop and try the other side...same thing. Boo. I was hoping to make it to at least a year and 1/2, but we made it almost 16 months, so I'm happy with that. At least she was the one who made the decision to stop.

I'm guessing she stopped due to a few things. I went back to work the end of July, so she's been down to only 2 feeds (morning and a bedtime one), plus I'm almost 10 weeks pregnant so maybe she doesn't like the taste of the milk anymore. She's been sick this week too though, so maybe she hasn't been feeding because it's hard for her to breathe. I'll keep trying to nurse her to see if we can still keep going.

It makes me kind of sad, because it just's one more thing that means she's growing up and won't be my baby anymore

My friends baby is like this, lucky if she can get 3 spoonfulls in a day. 11 months old too. He's just a booby boy, loves the milk. He's also gaining the correct weight so no need to stress. If a baby is growing that's all that matters.

I haven't read properly, can't concentrate on things right now, but Ollie (21.5 months) had booby to go to sleep last night, and only had booby once in the night...maybe this is him self-weaning

Evie is still a booby monster but she has started to ask to be put down to go to sleep some nights and will even let DH lay with her while she goes to sleep

hanging around here. glad I found this thread again extended?? breastfeeding shown in bad light was on the telly again so loads of stupid comments about. Feel more excepted and unfreakish here.

I still lurk although I'm not breastfeeding anymore. Recently Thomas has been pretending to breastfeed, he points to my boobs and says 'milkies' and then sucks for about one second on each boob and says 'nice'! It's over two months since he stopped breastfeeding but I think it's nice that he obviously still remembers!

I'm still here too - almost 18 months now, however worrying that now i am pregnant again lo will self wean but at the same time starting to get lots of comments and looks when we bf in public which tbh is starting to make me uncomfortable

I'm still around too although we stopped BF in August. Now and again if K sees my boobies he'll point and do the sign he used to do for milk and I just say yes but they don't work anymore honey cause you're a big boy now and he just nods and carries on what he was doing or gives me a cuddle

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining here. I'm still bfing my 12 month old son, and hoping to continue until he doesn't want them anymore. He is a proper boob man at the moment and usually still prefers boob over proper food.

I know the year has flown! cant believe he is 1. Feel sad kinda as they will never be babies obviously again and I love babies I hope thats not called broodiness lol Alex trying to walk he can manage a few steps and still on only breastmilk he dosnt want solids at all. So hv is sending us to a dietician who I bet will blame breastfeeding.

Dragonfly - I know what you mean about them growing up quick. I must confess to feeling a bit broody. I hope you get on ok with the dietician. What is that saying again..something about food just for fun until one... I'm sure K was around 18 months before he started getting into solids and maybe around 20 months before I started refusing BF during the day.

Gah! Just read this back and realize how bad my typing is on my mobile when I'm suffering from pregnancy insomnia

MEANT to say that I'm still here, and waiting for baby. Alyssa hasn't nursed since the end of May, but it won't be long till a new BF journey begins!
