Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

I'm back for my 25 month blinkie - never thought it would happen!

Things have chilled out so much :happydance: I had a really very rough phase with it at about 16-19 months.

congrats for reaching 25 months thats amazing! :D
i dont post much in here but im still going my hubby has stopped asking me when im going to stop feeding i think he finally understands that i will stop when my lo wants to :)

I have to get a blinky again when xmas ticker goes, I cant remember how many months I am I lost count.

We will be 20 months on Christmas eve

Evie hardly nurses in the day now. Only for her morning nap and then that's it usually until bedtime.

She makes up for it at night tho :dohh:

How is everyone?

Alex has his first cold, I also have it and so does william. First time they have gotten ill! I think thats good going so far.

Hooray for mummy milk! It's great that they've never been ill before now DF :)

Caroline is nursing like a trooper - she's up above birth weight as of early last week... so my milk must be the good stuff! :haha:

Ha ha Evie sometimes lifts up my top and shouts BOOBIE! Altho she normally just askes for 'moosh' :haha:

William is fine, wouldnt notice and nose cleared up in a day, Alex taking a day longer and not liking it at all he is rather peed about it all. :cry:Still up and about. I still have it but not as bad so we be ok for christmas day.

you tandem feeding?

No tandem nursing here :( Alyssa self-weaned at the end of May when she was 27 months old. Since Caroline was born, she has asked for mummy milk a couple of times. I have let her latch on, but she wasn't that interested. She was just happy to know she could nurse if she wanted to.

Aww bless her :)

Anneke, Evie had a cold last week for a few days. Was a little grumpy a snotty but it cleared up really quick compared to the other toddlers we know

I think LO is weaning! He had booby as usual on Sunday, but then Monday night he asked for a bottle of milk and he fell asleep without any booby...He did wake in the early hours and ask for booby, but after that night, he's not had any more! If this is him weaning, I'm going to wait until he's sleeping through in our bed, then move him to his own bed and see if that helps him sleep through!

Aww jelly bean he is growing up!

Evie has stared asking for 'fridge milk' and it breaks my heart :(

I had such mixed feelings when Thomas weaned at 22 months. On the one hand I was pleased mainly because of TTC and also that it happened naturally and easily. But on the other hand I felt such a sense of loss. Thomas weaned quite suddenly, he just all of a sudden wasn't really interested anymore. However, even now, several months later, he still talks about 'milkies' and will latch on for a few seconds and pretend to feed, saying 'nice, me like milkies' (LOL). Which I think is really nice.

^^ That's how I felt when Alyssa self-weaned, although I was pregnant again at the time. She has asked for mummy milk a couple of times since Caroline arrived, and I've nursed her, but she's had her curiosity satisfied and that's enough for her :)

He fell asleep again last night without booby, but woke in the early hours wanting some, so I gave it to him, but he is growing up! Mixed emotions here now...I'm sad it's the end of our BF journey, but happy that he is comfortable enough to not have them!
