Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

Miss bump that is awful I don't know why people Dont just but out and keep their mouths shut when it comes to what age they should stop bf! Why isn't it the norm to let children self wean or to wean when mum/baby are ready!!

Huge hugs df hope your feeling better soon x x

I wonder this too? Why is there always pressure!?!?

People need to just leave it to the mummy and baby to decide

Quite gutted at the moment I've been wanting to ttc again and oh said possibly earlier on wel I got ahead of myself and started thinking all sorts particularly tandem feeding And now he's told me he wants to wait until after the wedding :(

Hi, can I join?:flower:

I'm bfing my youngest atm, she's 9 1/2m now and its been a long journey with her. She's my fourth, first 3 I fed to self weaning with no real issues but Eilidh was 2 months early and has failure to thrive. We had to supplement when she turned 3 months and was dropping centiles for both weight and height. We stopped supplementing awhile ago now when little miss started taking some solids and refusing bottles lol. She's feeding like a newborn nowadays, at least 12+ feeds a day:thumbup: Downside is I get leaking everywhere:dohh:

Hoping to feed her to around 3 years if she'll let me, maybe longer:happydance:

Nice to meet you all:hugs:

After my MCs we are going to wait a little while now to TTC again :(

Hello every one I have just found you all in here I'm still breastfeeding my 21 month old but getting that presure from hubby to stop now I'm going away for a week at the beginning if feb and I want to carry on feeding but hubby said it's the perfect time to stop as I won't be here make me feel do sad  xx

Huge hugs missbump x x

Am so ashamed of myself I did something I said id never do.i fed Zack in a toilet :(

He was in a real strop the other day when we went out for food with the inlaws so I took him to the toilet to feed him and calm him down!
Fil makes me uncomfortable feeding Zack he is very pervy and whenever i feed in public he ALWAYS asks me do I want to use his jacket to cover up! I never do I don't want to hide me feeding him you cant see much anyway

Ah mumandco dont feel bad, ive done that too :hugs:

I have only NIP a few times, once at the farm and i saw another mummy nursing her baby so i did it too
Once in the park and a few times in the car (not really in public so to speak)

I love seeing mums NIP and wish i could have done it when Evie was a baby but she had bad reflux and i was too scared id be covered in sick and im also shy with things like that

We managed to get out and about tho in the early days i just use to feed Evie before we left and not be out for too long or make sure i was near Marks & Spencers and they have a lovely nursing room :)

How is everyone today? Evie is napping and when she wakes we are off to my parents to see our cousins and aunts and uncles. My cousin has a little boy who is 15 months so will be nice for him and Evie to play

I always nip usually infront of fil to but he's making me feel awkward I'm also aware that it's not "normal" to feed a toddler!

Today I'm just cleaning :( the boys are driving me crazy though their being really cheeky!
Waiting for oh to come back from town and then wel do some craft with the boys

Hi girls, I am half way to being back here again :happydance:
Breastfeeding has been so much easier this time round, with Sophia my left nipple had only just started to grow back at this stage......but no pain this time round, so much so that I am using my lansinoh as lip balm, most expensive lip balm EVER! :haha:

:hi: Hi Shiv! Know what you mean Shiv about the Lansinoh!

Caroline comfort sucks sooooo much! Trying to introduce a pacifier for night time, but she hasn't figured out how to keep it in her mouth yet. This is new territory for me - Alyssa never took a dummy.

Cora is a thumb sucker, I always thought i wouldn't want my baby to suck their thumb (it took me until I was 21 years old to finally stop sucking mine :dohh:), but it is great! We can put her down wide awake and she will suck her thumb and go to sleep. Sophia always used to have to be fed to sleep until she was 6 months and we did a little bit of controlled crying.

mumandco:hugs: I think I'd feel uncomfortable in that situation as well hun

:happydance: for no nipple pain! I've not had any either which is great, my udder cream (its actually called that:haha:) has been used by my 3 year old son as hair cream:dohh:

Good luck with introducing the pacifier:flower:

I still nurse to sleep lol and I really have to wean her out of the swaddle soon or she'll one and still tightly swaddled and I'm thinking thats a bit old?

Miss_bump, hope Evie has fun with her cousin!

I'm still nursing to sleep aswell every sleep and everytime he wakes up! Just hoping he grows out of it at some point

I am only starting to stop the nursing to sleep. Hubby has been helping a lot with getting her to bed without nursing.

Hehehe I NIP anywhere! I tell people to back off because I'm feeding my baby. I'm a total B*TCH about it though.

Oh yeah I'll nurse her to sleep until she's ready to stop, my other 3 did by the time they were 2 so I know it'll end lol but she's the first I've swaddled and its proving tricky to break the habit:haha:

MissFox, I'm exactly the same with NIPing:thumbup:
