Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

The big iron count advert is back again only it looks like they took out the bit where it says 8 out of 10 toddlers. But the advert is still stupid!

I noticed this advert on last night. I hate it and can't believe it's back!

EJ is the size of an average 1 yr old hes in 12-18month clothes now :O i sat him next to my friends little girl the other day whos 14months old and EJ is the same size and heavier eeeeekkk its scary lol hes just done another spurt.
im getting sick of this night feeding habit hes gotten though from 2-6months he was sleeping 9-7 at least now he goes 8-11ish then feeds then till about 3ish and feeds then till 5 ish feeds again then we are up for the day by 7.30 and im getting worn out

My great aunty loved BF so much, she went to 2 with my cousin (now 40 odd), and my adopted cousin went for 3 years with her youngest (who is now 8...i think) So we do have a history of long BF in my family, although my other cousin BF to 9 months, I'm hoping we last out a year, that's my goal!!

Hi ladies I hope you dont mind me coming in,I reached 6 months today with Owen and hope to carry on for a lot longer.I breastfed my daughter for 22 months so that is my target :happydance:

Welcome Kerrie!

Nothing to report here, I am still here! And havnt gone into labour yet and have defo beat the myth that breastfeeding while pregnant causes premature or pre term labour! yay! And still have milk. I just hope I get loads more when no 2 comes out as thats the next crap myself stage, think its reading to much when people say they dont get milk or something.

DF, after what you went through with William after he was born, I think you could find a way to get milk from a stone if that's what was needed! I'm confident you won't have anywhere near the hard slog this time around. Fingers crossed you go into labor soon!

I started off knowing nothing and believe it or not that helped! I didnt know your milk could not come in, go down or what colostrum was I just kept at it as long as my son was feeding and happy I guessed that was good. So the less I knew the better. Now I know more and see loads of well..excuses and reasons why people cant feed and its always milk low, no milk etc. I always thought your body made enough? but now so many I am doubting! and I have a strong mind so you can imagine how many woman give up so early when they feel doubt to.

my nipples are sooo sensitive! its nightmare feeding with them. Its like starting all over again , I hope that goes away after labour, eeek!

I know what you mean about the doubts when you hear so much, it gets to you. :hugs: I wouldn't worry, like hivechild said, you've been through enough with William at first, you can do it!

DF i hope baby doesnt keep you waiting like my boys did, being overdue sucks the first time it sucks even more when you are dealing with a toddler as well,

Its flown though I dont know where the times went! its like I havnt had time to sit and be impatient till about now. I worry about going in alone as if its during the night darren will have to stay with william as no one has anywhere for it and i certainly will not have anyone co sleep with him as they wouldnt be used to it like us. So thats where most my nerves lie , I hope its during the day and out in a few hours. Ideally. plus when william wants boob dam he wants it! and my pump is broke and i could never get any out with it and he would never take a bottle. During day can be distracted but when he wakes at night its for comfort also. ]

I missed my midwife app last week and looks liek i wont go this week either due to the cheeky one i met last week i dont want to see again. Says she wasnt against breastfeeding! well she certainly had a problem with me doing it!

DF, I think William may surprise you and be a real little champion while you're in labor and in hospital. I know he's young, but have you tried too explain to him yet that soon you will be going to give birth rio his little brother or sister and that you'll be away for a little while?

It's a good thing you say he's so kind and sharing too, because he's really going to have to share now!

He seems to know theres a baby in my belly as he has felt it enough kicking him when feeding. (may I add its near impossible to feed now as he is pushed away with bump) and when I ask where baby is he pulls up my top points at my belly and then rubs it. Sometimes he will pull up his top and have a look to see where his is lol And when he sees babies on tv he asks what they are and looks at my belly again. So I am shocked he seems to know. But should really be to young to understand. I dont think he will be jealous or selfish he shares his dinner with the dog and wont have the dogs or cats without he goes and gets their treats when he is about to eat so everyone is eating. The dogs going to get really fat soon lol

Awww...so cute! I cannot wait to be pregnant again, but I want twins next time! Apparantly, it's more common to have twins while still nursing!

If i got pregnant with twins, hubby would be in getting the snip while i was giving birth! you know which one of us would be moaning more about the pain afterward too! :haha:

I wanted twins first time round, not so keen for next time though!

I think the one ion me will do and thats me finished. 2 is a nice round number just for me.

my washing machine is broke and i am sure my tennacy means i have to fix it even though my OH says we dont i just read it to him! and if i dont my landlord will take ages as he took 3 months with the dam bedroom carpet! and all my clothes that fit me now are in there and i am sat here in track suit bottoms of darrens that are tight and his biggest item of clothing as he is really skinny and williams pjs are all in wash anmd all my underwear and only the 2 pairs of trousers that fit me! all filled with water and wont drain!

Hi all,I posted a problem in bf section but only got 1 reply, have any of you had problems with teeth? Not actual biting, but his top teeth are rubbing when he feeds and its making it agony.Iv tried to get more boob in his mouth but he is reluctant to change his latch now :nope:

At the mo my nipples are on fire from pregnancy so I cant answer that to well as william has teeth. But I do recall feeling his teeth occasional at the start when he got them.He would sometimes latch on bite on me! eek! sore but it dosnt happen often.

When Sophia first started getting teeth she would graze me (not bite) and my nipples would get sore, but I think it was just because she wasn't used to having the teeth there iykwim? She soon learnt to feed without hurting me, so hopefully your little guy will too.

Another thought is - have you got you rperiods back yet? My nipples got really sensitive prior to my first period and I thought it was because of Sophia's teeth but it wasn't.

I have a high chance of having twins as they run in my family so who knows lol
