Budget Meal planning

One of my little money saving tips is buying cheap value pizzas, plain cheese and tomato then I our my own toppings on.. Always have somethin I can put on a pizza to spice it up a bit :)

The last few weeks we have had very little money. We have been havinh pasta twice a week so didnt want to bore you all. Strangely, we have eaten quite well despite the lack of money. I usually overbuy anyway. iv just wokrked out nextweeks plan so thought i would share.

M: jacket spuds with the usual beans and cheese, salad.
T: naughty pies with mash topping maybe.
W: roast pork and all the side bits.
T: big fat fry up with mushrooms ( because i fancy mushrooms sooooo bad atm)
F: pie and homemade chips. ( pies are frozen ones. )
S: omletts with something..... not sure what yet.
S: at my mums all day so maybe homemade pizza/ burgers possibly a takeaway.

Just realised there looks like a lot of chips. But they are all homemade, and cooked in the oven ( infact i dont actually know how to fry chips). Potatos are one food i know LO will eat so i serve them alot.

As long as you're eating it doesn't matter if it's the same stuff :)

Thanks DCS about to do my online shop and was looking for some inspiration! I love omelettes so they'll go on the list.

This weeks meals -

sat- pizza & salad
sun- sausage casserole
mon- lasagne & salad
tues- chicken curry
weds- spag bol
thurs- sausage, roasted veggies & butternut squash chips
fri- kung po chicken
xx

I really need to start budgeting better. I spend about $150 every 2 weeks on food for just my hubby and I. When I grocery shop I try to get the cheapest meat items I can find, but produce here is SUPER expensive, as well as milk and we go through eggs like crazy.

*sigh* Slowly, but surely I am learning a bit.

Here's my weekly meal plan. I have a fair few potatoes to use :)

Meal plan WC 17/02-23/02
Monday - Jacket potato with cheese and bbq chicken breast
Tuesday - Gnocchi pasta bake, beef steaks and garlic bread
Wednesday - Jacket potatoes, tuna, mayo and cucumber
Thursday - quorn spicy beef steak, sweet potato mash, veg, yorkshire puddings and gravy
Friday - Sausage and tomato pasta bake with garlic bread
Saturday - quorn chicken korma, rice and naan bread
Sunday - chicken and mushroom pie, jacket potato, cheese and beans

My food week goes weds-weds, i have a budget of £45 for everything inc household bits for 3 which i do my best to stick to, sometimes goes over but only a little! I always meal plan and think carefully about what i buy though it never feels like we scrimp or go without, this week..

w - chicken, rice, beans and veg burritos
t - prawn stir fry
f - breaded turkey steaks and chips
s - sausage jambalaya
s - roast chicken, roasts, stuffing, veg
m - beef stew and dumplings
t - tuna pasta bake

We r desperately trying to empty our freezer so this week is pretty boring

Fri- fish, chips and peas
Sat- past and stir in sauce
Sun- chicken dinner made with chicken breast in freezer
Mon- chilli and rice and some wedges that r in freezer
Tues- paprika chicken, sautéed potatoes and broccoli
Wed - spaghetti bolognese
Thurs- breaded chicken with packet pasta

Then shopping Friday to fill my empty freezer and cupboards lol

I keep trying to do nextweeks plan and shopping list but all i can think about is greasy kebabs, a chip special and cream egg icecream.
