Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

Thankfully she is too short because she's trying to climb onto the couch and coffee table as well as her little piano so she can get to other stuff. Last night she dropped to her knees and threw her body back because she wasn't allowed to play with the dog's toys. She also watches you stuff the remote behind the cushion and then goes for it when you're not looking. I swear she doesn't realise she's only 9 months! She puts on the cutesy to make you think she's being good and then takes off to do something she knows she's not supposed to.

Sounds like my kid :coffee:

So went to the doctor's today and am back again tomorrow. The site of my nasty looking hand makes me want to vomit and I'm thinking I might as well take up residence at the office. I'm sure he'll be going on a vacation soon with the amount I'm seeing him.

Lol at B. Andrew was like that when he was younger (12-18 months?). It actually was fortunate that he's shorter than average, because he was limited in what he could climb up on and reach. Now he can pretty much access everything, but in general listens well and understands what he isn't allowed to touch. That said, I have certainly caught him sitting in my recliner drinking my cold coffee :haha: And anything left on the dining room table seems to be fair game, so I don't leave anything there that I don't want him to touch.

Hannah has always been a climber as well though she generally listens pretty well now so it's not so bad.

:( I can't believe your hand is still so bad Lisa. :hugs:

Amanda - Sorry to hear about the MS returning. :(

Lisa - I really hope your hand is all better soon!

Tiff - I would LOVE to meet up too! I've been dying for you to come up here!! And maybe we can have a get together at my house so you can see your old neighbourhood, even just for the nostalgia! ;)

Sarah - Oh my, your avatar is classic! Poor Tobe. I really want to take the girls to see Santa but Alora has such a stranger-danger thing going on, Im scared she'll just scream the entire time and there's no way I will get a picture. :nope:
But I still have to go, even for Kyree's sake... so she can tell Santa what she wants for Christmas.
And Simon is just too cute!!! I think someone is stalling! :haha:

Wendy - Okay seriously, WHAT do you find sexy about Santa???:shrug: And too cute, little Elliot the Santa offspring! :haha:

Joss - Our Santa we have here always has a real beard too, which is nice! Our Santa isn't even fat though, which is weird in a way?!

Sara - Glad you had a good trip and J travelled well! :)

Brandi - I hope Zoe feels back to her old self really soon, poor girl. :(

And terrible 3's are, well TERRIBLE! I thought 2 was rough. :dohh:

And Alora, my "easy going" one... has decided she CAN climb too. She climbs our couches all the time. :dohh: Definitely sucks since she's still super clumsy and wiggles all over the place, I have to catch her half the time!

Alia has a bit of stranger danger too :haha:

HAHA!! OMG Poor Alia! So does this mean I should be gearing up for a screaming Santa picture this year?? lol

 I like the screaming Santa pics. Good bribe for the future

Yeah I think they're adorable. :haha: Probably not fun for Santa or the babes, but pretty darn cute! And HILARIOUS for the future. Pete actually has one from when he was about 2 yrs old, screaming on Santa's lap. I laugh hysterically everytime I see it!

You might be safe Brig. P is pretty outgoing! Kyree never minded Santa in the least.

Oh goodness, that picture is so adorable, Melissa. It's just a little bit.

Thanks Kate. She had a better day today and no fever at bedtime, but we gave her Tylenol anyway, because she was sounding pretty rough. I hope she's on the mend too. She needs a break.

I found out today from her teacher, though, that Norwalk Virus has been hitting the Kindergarten classrooms at her school since she's been gone, so I think I'll be keeping her away until IT is gone.

You ladies with 3 year olds need to stop scaring me. While I have an almost 5 year old, she hasn't hit 3 yet (developmentally), so I have no clue what I'm in for. I don't think I'm ready for it.

On that note though, we're already seeing a HUGE improvement in Isaiah's behaviour since cutting out the dairy. He still has his tantrums and his refusals, but they're nowhere near as violent and severe as they once were, and they're not lasting as long. The poor kids wants a Diego cake for his birthday and I've called every cake place I can think of in Brantford, and not one will make a dairy-free cake, even if I supply the dairy-free ingredients. I hope I can find my non-existent inner artist.

Im glad the non-dairy diet is helping him!

And you can do it! I am no cake-pro by ANY means and I still managed to make the girls' cakes and they turned out half decent! :)

I'm just planning on substituting real milk for the almond milk he drinks, making my own dairy-free buttercream icing (found an awesome recipes with rave reviews), and then likely just making cupcakes and sticking a Diego face on top, lol. I don't have the time or patience to make a whole cake. But your Elmo one turned out amazing!

We invited 8 kids to Isaiah's birthday. 5 said no, and 3 just ignored the invitation. This is the second year in a row I've cancelled his birthday party because nobody was coming. I'm glad it hurts me more than it hurts him though. I don't want my baby boy hurt. At least next year he'll be in school and can invite his friends from there.

Brandi that is really disappointing :( I found that for Elyse's birthday party, there were several people who either didn't respond or said they were coming and didn't show/texted me at the last minute backing out. I just don't understand where peoples' manners have gone? I see it constantly at my work because we run birthday parties; parents book for say 15 kids and 8 show up even though all 15 RSVP'ed yes... or they expect 8 and 11 show up because 3 didn't bother responding, etc. It's really upsetting for the kids though when their friends/classmates do that... and when they're that young, you know it's all the parents :( I hope his cake turns out yummy though!

As for Santa, I found her first year she was okay- she was only 9 months old. Last year, at nearly 2 basically... disaster. Refused to sit with Santa or cried when we attempted. This year though (at nearly 3) things were pretty good- she didn't cry, but she sat with him. She was shy though so we didn't get a smiley picture... but my friends with kids her age/older say basically about the same thing, when they're babies it goes okay but then when they're 1-2 Santa pics don't go over too well.

Bought a new laptop over the weekend... it's PURPLE lol... I love it, so much better than my old one. Andrew wants to try to get the old one fixed, to be honest I don't think it's worth it anyway since it was crappy anyway... but his money, not mine... I'd prefer he waited until after Christmas though!!

:growlmad:
Are you guys freakin' serious?!
Parents cop out on birthday parties for little kids?!!!
Okay, that is beyond just rude. I don't have a problem with people RSVPing no - that's their prerogative and not an etiquette breach - they responded that they couldn't make it. Fair enough. But to ignore an invite, or worse, to say yes, then not show? Mind-bogglingly rude! :nope:

And Melissa ~
 at the Santa pic! I love the freaked-out baby/toddler Santa pics. They are hysterical. We have an ancient one of my dad from the late 1940s - all dressed up like a kid out of the A Christmas Story movie, giving the Santa such a look of deep misgiving. It's priceless.

brandi- you can rent cake pans from the bulk barn, Im sure they have a diego one too.
