Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

I hate chasing people up to find out if they are coming to birthdays or not

Most people who did say they were coming did come I believe though.

Hannah loves the Science Centre here Sarah! The membership has been a very good investment for us :)

Yeah chasing ppl after you ask for RSVP's is the worst...wedding...birthday...whatever. I hate it. And also ppl who just don't show up.

Kate: That's why, I told you on Sunday that we went despite Peyton being a cranky pants. In a way I feel bad when I'm somewhere and she's being a turd...on the other...I know that we're all parents and we get it. Anyway, she seemed to perk up after we were at your place for a bit and she had lots of fun.

Sara, that's an awesome RV!!!!

Big hugs to all the sick ppl :(

Yeah I think some people in general have just seemed to lose perspective when it comes to common courtesy and ettiquette.
I really have no idea where people get off thinking its OK to RSVP and then not show, or vice versa. I would never, ever do that.

And dont worry Brig, you're my bestie so I wouldn't get PO'd if you backed out last minute for some reason because thats not TYPICALLY you, iykwim? ;)
But Im glad you guys came anyway, it was alot of fun having you guys there!

Just my luck.

Mike's acting like a pathetic little child again, fighting with me when I tried to talk to him about financial concerns, so he walked out on me and took BOTH cell phone. Now I don't have a phone AT ALL and Zoe just woke with a fever, uncontrollable coughing and gagging, near vomiting, and I have absolutely no childcare for two sleeping kids, any way to get to a hospital, even if it is the pathetic BGH, and no way to even call an ambulance or a cab or anything.

I tried sending a text message through the Rogers 2-way messaging online system, and there has been no response from anyone I've sent texts to at all, so I wonder if it even works.

The trick to the hand cramp issue with the star icing tip - is to keep you bag only half full. i know its a pain cause you have to keep filling up the bag, but its when the bag is very full that it works your hand hard, and by the end you have the bad cramps.

Sorry to hear that Brandi - i hope Z is ok and someone gets back to you quickly.

Had a meeting with a home care lady and with work today, both went well. J has 4 teeth popping through at once, and tim is still sick LOL what an exciting life i lead! Oh yeah and i was doing the math, and when i go back full time, after i pay child care, i bring home the same money that i do now on EI... awesome.

:hi:

We've had a weird day

but on the upside despite a lack of sleep I am feeling much better and Hannah is as well :D

Glad your meetings went well Sara. That's awful about bringing home the same you do on EI though :(

Ya... sara, working and paying for childcare sucks big time! I know how you feel.

that is tom's solution too... lol... although I dont think I will ever make as much money anywhere else.

Glad you and H are feeling better Vickie.

Yay for the meetings going well, that sucks about how much you'll be actually bringing home though.

Not much here today, paid off the dentist and got some parts to hopefully fix our toilet so I don't have to buy a new one.

After two kids, childcare would have been most of my take-home pay. Like 70-80% of it. I have been bringing home way more than EI for the past three months, but that's about to dry up for awhile, I think.
And speaking of making less money and probably should be budgeting accordingly, I have instead been spending like an heiress with all the xmas shopping.
We set up the tree today - so much fun with Simon this year. He has appropriated several ornaments that he finds particularly wonderful and is carrying them with him everywhere. I very clearly remember doing the same thing! :cloud9:

Ya childcare is like half my pay lol... sucks big time, but with a third coming getting another year of matleave is ideal.

aww that's cute Sarah! Glad Simon is enjoying the tree. Hannah loves ours!

Yeah, that's why I haven't worked at all. The only jobs I have ever worked are retail jobs. I don't think I am gonna make enough to even cover daycare.

BUUUUT...

My friend, that has a baby, said she would come watch all 3 kids over at my house and I could go back to work in the spring. That way I could rent the whole house, kick out the oldies, and elliot would have his own room, and if I even just covered the cost of paying my friend, plus the grandparents share of rent, it would be worth it to me. Plus my kids would be at home, with their own toys and stuff, and B would probably be home some of the time.

that sounds like a good plan Wendy!! i think that by the time we have #3 (if we have #3) J will be ready to start school and so i will always at most have to pay for 2 kids in daycare.

I hope you are able to fix your toilet Lisa!

So cute about simon and his ornaments!! i can't wait to do our tree! next weekend i think.

Now to just find a job  Since I walked off the last one.

Is anyone doing any handmade christmas gifts this year?
