Debate: Capital punishment

Maybe make them work around the prison? I just don't think they should have TV's. There is plenty they can do i.e. work, training anything. Cleaning the toilets, helping in the kitchen. then they have what they call execise area. Where they can do fitness. I do not mind all of that. I just don not liek teh Idea of people like gareth having a tv in his cell (he told me brother he liked it there)

He will probably re offend just to get back in when he comes out as everyone has disowned him

Well, aslong as they have something to do.. I dunno why youre so against TV though Education is just as much of a luxury as TV is, we just take it for granted.

I am sorry but I watch the Lock Up show that goes into the prisons in america and they are coddled there. I don't care what your crime was. You should not have cable tv in your cell. And yes they do have it in their cells because the last show I watched the other day was about a guy throwing a fit because his cable was not working for his tv in his cell. Showed the tv he has. They talked about how it was affecting others cable as well, so others had it too. I don't care if they are "being Good". I don't get rewards as an adult for following the rules of the law and behaving good. These are not children. These are adults. They broke the law. My cable is not free, so why is theirs? Whether they are in for a minor crime or a serious one they still commited a crime and should not be allowed the extras that people in society have because they work hard and follow the rules. If they want the extras they then should do their time, and come out, get a job and follow the letter of the law like everyone else and pay for the extras.

It's not a human rights issue about whether you watch TV or not. Whether you have games or books or not.

Trust me, that does not ever appear in the European Convention on Human Rights 1950, which is the fundemental and founding part of the Human Rights Act 1998.

If it's not their basic human right, they don't deserve it. They broke the law.

Yes they do. Or was the program lieing when they filmed the inmate with his tv in his room? I don't care if it is the toughest jail or the least secrity jail. Prison is Prison and there should be no extras for breaking the law.

im commenting on the show i watched are you in the uk no! so you mite not have seen the one i watched they all slept in one big room together with one draw no cable in sight!

i dont shout never raise my voice at any one its just the way we were taught to tiouch type at school. that doesnt give people the right to word things the way they do at least i word my replys nice! id never even think someone was shouting if they wrote like that!

It seems like you are 'having a go' at everyone else as if you know more than them etc.

And btw, some of the people who are opposing your view have 'experienced the system the way you have'. And it's a bit rude to say that people cannot make an educated judgement if they don't know anyone in prison :/

EDIT: why were you taught to end your sentences in exclamation marks instead of proper grammer to fit the sentence? That doesn't make sense to me :S

this thread is about capital punishment and now has gone on to how prisons are run ect, which wont be changed by us all getting "over heated"

In some American states it's still legal, whereas in other's it isn't I'm sure. It would be interesting to get their POV on it, because other than America I can't think of any other country on here that has capital punishment.

cos thats what our teacher let us do didnt affect me as i got A i didnt go to normal school i went to ballet school they werent intrested in what we typed or wrote!
