Good luck for today navywife !

I've got my iui later this week - going in for a final scan and trigger shot injection tomorrow.

Does everyone else do their own injections? I can't bring myself to do it so the nurse normally does, but the one i saw last week was very stroppy about it!!

Wishing you all lots of luck for iui success
xx

Hey Liz good luck with your iui, i will be having my 1st menpur injection on thurs after my 5 day scan. told my oh he can inject me as the nurse taught him how to do it.

Good luck purplesparkle!

I didn't have menopur because the nurse said there was enough follis so fingers crossed you won't need it either. I did have the trigger shot at the end which i think makes the folli release an egg. Having that today.

xx

How did things go today, Liz? Hope everything went well :)

For those of you waiting on IUI....I just wanted to let you know a little about my experience. They had my dh give his "sample" and had us wait while they cleaned it. When we got it back, they had us take it to another section of the hospital (kind of embarassing for dh, but he was a champ!) They also gave us a paper that said all of the stats about the sperm, like count, motility, etc. It said what it should be and what his counts were. Dh was higher than all of the counts and when they were doing the IUI, the doctor made a comment about how great the results looked! While we were bringing it to the other section, dh was very concerned that it was pink. I told joked with him that it was pink b/c I told them we wanted a girl...dh really wants a boy! LOL Then they took us back to do my IUI. Dh felt wierd being in there with me, but I was really glad he was there for it. They didn't use any lubricant or anything. In fact, I had so much cm that they had to clean some of it up before doing the procedure b/c the doctor couldn't see. There was a little cramping and pinching, kind of like during HSG, but not nearly as bad. The doc said that when they do iuis sometimes a little bit spits out, but that didn't happen with me. It was over pretty quickly and then they covered me back up with the sheet and had me lay there for 5-10 minutes. So, everything seemed to go really well, but now the 2ww is going to kill me!

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone that hasn't had one yet. I wasn't really sure what to expect and I was really nervous this morning. But really, it wasn't bad at all. If you can survive an HSG, you can definitely survive IUI. And the doc said it gets easier each time you do an IUI.

Hey ladies....not sure if this has been discussed yet but when is it time to starting thinking about IUI? I have an appt tomorrow with the FS and we have been on femara for 4 months with no luck:(Just didn't know when IUI comes into the conversation! Any personal stories or advise would be very appreciated!!!

Glad everything went well NavyWife! Now you're joining some of us in the tww! Trist, if you're considering iui, I would let them know. When I went to my first FS appointment, they scheduled me for an ultra sound, blood work, HSG, and my husband had to do a sperm analysis. Once they all came back good, they said they'd try iui with meds. Good luck!

thanks for your post navywife i got mine next week was really getting nervous doesn't sound too bad from your experience

Thanks micsor! We went today and we put our deposit down for IUI and hyperstimulation! Had an ultrasound, pelvic exam and blood work so we are good to go!

so hadmy day 5 scan today everything fine but nurse found a small cyst by my right ovary said it was side effect of taking 6 months of clomid last year. anyone else had similar? she said i can wait till my next cycle for iui with injections or carry on this cycle with clomid on its own. opted to carry on as have prepared myself to have it next week.

Well tomorrow is my first IUI. Gave my trigger shot this morning. Nervous...but hopeful! I really hope this works!

Had my IUI done on 2/18. Waiting for March 3rd to test....2ww is a killer. :dust: to all!

Hi,
I need to be "talked down" a little, if any of you ladies can spare some good advice.

This is my first IUI cycle, and the clomid made me, quite frankly, a little nutty, and I have enormous 38 mm follicles and I might not be thinking straight.

I had an IUI scheduled this morning. I've been testing 2x a day with my OPKs and no surge yet. I explained that this morning but they said, you probably missed it. The follicles (3) were quite big and we're on CD11 which is my usual day. That's reasonable enough so we went ahead with the IUI. They also drew some blood for testing.

This afternoon they call me back and said they want to schedule a second IUI on Monday. (Keep in mind we did the first this morning at 9am, Friday.) That's 72 hours after the first! What kind of sense does that make? I mean, if the one on Monday is appropriate, today's was a complete waste of $, time off work and emotional investment.

Before I call the office back sounding like a crazy lady I was hoping anyone could give me some insight? Does this scheduling make sense? We're paying cash. So I have EXTRA pressure financially.

Thank you all...

CryHer, do you have to go for an hcg blood test on the 3rd? I have to go have one done on the 2nd. Well, it's been a week already, so let's hope the next week goes by quick! I know I'm going to be a total wreck next week!

gryphongrl, I don't really know what to say! It seems kind of strange to me, but I guess they're the doctors and hopefully know what they're doing. Good luck!

Miscor, They didn't tell me to go in, it said I can take a HPT. Im gonna test on friday, the 2ww is killing me!

Gry, I would think it would increase the odds. I think you're safe to go with what they recommended.

quick question to those of you who have had iui, where you able to carry on with normal activities straight after? or did you rest a little?
