February...a month for Making Love & Making Babies!!!

OMG, beaglemom, how exciting that this is happening now!! I know you've got a lot to do, and I'm sure I'd be shaky if I were you too, hehe!! OMG, sooo excited about this. And it worked out well that they called back and said tomorrow, because that gives you another day to get a Peak on the monitor or a pos OPK. Yay!!! :happydance:

Question!! Does anyone ovulate SUPER early? Early as in 3-4 days right after period ends?! I know most women ovulate around CD14, but I REALLY think I am ovulating early. My cycles normally range around 25-28 days. I'm going to use OPK this time just to make sure.

I was an early ovulater before getting on Clomid. I'm not sure how long your AF lasts, so not sure of the exact day you O, but mine was around cd10 or so. My AF is usually fairly short... 3 days, or 4 max. So I was O'ing about 6-7 days after AF was done. Since it was taking me so long to get prego, my Dr put me on Clomid to push my O out by a few days, in order to give my egg more time to mature, and give my body more time to prepare for the egg as well. But I've seen many women get BFPs who O around cd10. My Dr. just thought he'd try it since I had been trying for 10 months at the time with no luck. He gave me a super low dose of 25mg the first two cycles (that's half the dose of the normal starting dose for most patients). It did push my O out to cd13-14, but I didnt get prego. In my third cycle, he bumped me up to the normal starting dose of 50mg, and I got prego that cycle. Sadly, it didn't stick and I miscarried. But it did the job, and I'm excited to be getting back on the same dose this month. :)

Sorry, I missed this question. Merrier, there is def nothing wrong with an early O necessarily. As long as your luteal phase is around 12+ days. But what are you using to assume O? Cramps, cm, temps? The reason I ask is because I will get cm aout 2-3 days before O & I will cramp maybe a day or so before. So if you are using these things to determine O, you may not be calculating it correctly. Def use the opks & see what happens. A lot of women here temp & love it, I do not. Temping will tell you for sure that you O.

Hello everyone! I have enjoyed reading this post for awhile now and. Finally decided to comment and join you all on your journey. My husband and i have been trying since april 2012. I had a miscarriage at the end of august 2013. I had concieved naturally but was having 60 day cycles. So now im on clomid and metformin. This is my 4th cycle of clomid. I am getting frusterated because the loss made me want a baby so much more.

I am currently cd 16 when i always ovulate but im quite annoyed because i am quite sure that i ovulated on cd14 (temp over coverline and today change in cm) and i wasnt ready for it (bd sessions werent timed well). There's always hope but im thinking i messed up in assuming i would ovulate on cd16.

I have already been encouraged by your posts and look forward to being apart of this group!

Welcome to the group, Hun. :flower: I'm glad you joined us. I'm sorry you're unsure of whether or not your BDing schedule was sufficient. If you BD at least a day or two before you O'd, then that's still pretty good! Those sperm can live in there for a few days. Fxd for you! I got my BFP in my third cycle of Clomid (first cycle that he bumped me up to 50mg). So I bet you have a good chance really soon. :)

Merrier, if you haven't been TTC for too long, I wouldnt start worrying about it yet. Like I said, many women get BFPs when they O early, without any problems. The reason my Dr took action was because I wasn't getting pregnant. Here's a link that explains what my Dr explained to me.

I do agree with beaglmom that you should try and pinpoint exactly when you're O'ing just to be sure though. Maybe its not as early as you think..? Try OPKs, temping, etc...?

Ok, so I got another freaking neg!!! So now I am worrying I am doing the IUI too soon. So stressful. I don't want to ask the nurse because I don't want her to know I lied...even if I fib on th fib I don't want her to tell me to wait until Monday. I feel like I have a better shot tomorrow than Monday. What do you guys think? I know most of you don't have IUI experience. But if you treat this like a regular BD, what do you think? I think it still has a good survival time & I think I briefly read it is better that the egg is in the tube because some of the boys will go up the tube so maybe they can be waiting. I am also so tempted to buy better O tests from the drug store to test later. I guess my other option would be to ask about doing one tomorrow & Monday for good messure. But I don't know if they will plus is it even worth it since this is my first try?

I do not like all these factors being up in the air!!!

Beaglemom, I really wish that I could give you some advice but I have no experience here. If you were going by how you would normally BD I would think that sooner is better than later.

For everyone else, I am keeping my fingers crossed for us all to get our BFP's in the month of love. I am currently CD 10, temping and using OPK's and BDing every other day since CD 6 for good measure. I am hoping this is the month for us all. Good luck everyone!

Yikes, this is a tough one, but I agree with cupcakes... if going by BDing, earlier is better, so I would think IUI would be too. Look at it like this... if you end up canceling tomorrow, and you end up getting your pos OPK on Sat, will you be totally stressed out waiting for Mon?

I know I will. And I just really do not see another high coming tomorrow. I think my surge will be this afternoon. Plus I have the AF like cramps & I am a little wet (sorry)...so I just know it is coming. I have everything lined up. My husband just doesn't know yet...he is still sleeping. So I am going to try to focus on work & just keep testing every time I go to the bathroom.

I haven't started using OPKs YET, but I have bought some to use this month! I am guessing my ovulation date is 4-5 days after my period ends because I get an intense sex drive and I get a ton of EWCM! (it drips out of me when I go to the bathroom! TMI!) I was on birth control for a total of 3.5 years & when I wasn't on birth control, I did experience the ovary pain when I ovulated. But, since I have been off birth control this last time (since September) to try to conceive, I SWEAR my ovary hurts for a week or longer which means I really can't go off of that pain anymore. Except for the fact that maybe it is a cyst from ovulation which is causing the pain?! Some months it hurts, other months it doesn't. Weird, I know! I also get tender breasts a few days after I ovulate so that's another way I know. But, of course, most of these are signs AFTER I ovulate.
Anyways, I'm hoping that OPKs will help me pinpoint exactly when I ovulate! I do temp, but I work night shift and honestly, I just don't know how accurate my temperatures are!

So....is it Saturday yet?! This wait is terrible lol. I'm on CD30, and my hubby keeps wanting me to test, but I told him I'm too superstitious and I think it will jinx it if I test too early!! (My cycles are usually 32-33 days)

At least I finally got to workout last night, I did a recumbent bike since my sprained ankle is still healing, but that hour and a half of not thinking about anything stressful was great :)

Merrier,

I really think when you start with the poks, you will find you are O'ing later than you think. The cm shows up to help the guys up & keeps them alive...so when you think about it, it is quite possible to get cm before O so that the boys can get where they need to be to meet the egg. Most things I read say the best chance to conceive is before O because like I said, they can be in there just waiting & if they are already there, less chance they miss the egg.

Good luck with your testing!

Glad you could let off some steam! I used to do hot yoga & I loved it. I felt like the heat made me sweat out the crap of my day. I stopped only because I got lazy. I should get back in to it...but if I do, I will not do it after I O. I know it is not safe while pregnant, so I figure couldn't hurt to avoid it after O just in case.

I have a friend that wants me to try hot yoga with her, she's also having trouble TTC and she swears it has helped her cycles be more regular. I'm a little hesitant though for the same reason as you :) Dirty little secret....I drank a beer last night  My hubby asked if I wanted one out of habit, and I was like ummm do you think I should?? But my thought is, it's super early still, if anything is in there, and one beer shouldn't hurt since I usually drink a couple a week anyways (I don't get any kind of buzz, just enjoy the taste).

I think drinking after O is fine...just not over doing it. Besides after you confirm pregnancy, you can drink an occassional glass of wine.

I don't know about yoga helping your cycle, but it def helped with stress.

Any luck with your opk's?? I'm sure that's stressful, but it'll be worth it in the end!! :flower:

No luck yet, but I think this last one was too dilluted. It was about 2-3 hours...but I had also had lunch. So I am going to try to stop drinking fluids now & test again when I get home.

I am going to feel real stupid if my peak still doesn't come until Sunday. If it does come late, I am just going with it. I mean what can I do call the office & say I lied?

Beaglemom, what cd are you? And when do you normally O? I assume you're around your O time if you're stressing about the IUI. But in my dr, before they would do the IUI or anything, they generally did an ultrasound to see if the follicles were ready. So you could ask for that first, if they don't already do it and they'll be able to tell if you'll O soon, or if it'll take a few more days. At least that way you'd know for sure. And you can still bd over the weekend just in case the IUI was a bit early.

And yay, Erin! That's so exciting! I'm so glad everything worked out for you. I know you really wanted to try the clomid again! My fingers are crossed for you!

Beaglemom That is a tough situation! But I know that with washed sperm it doesn't live as long only about 12-24 hours. So I hope you get your +opk soon! I honestly don't know what I would do.

Also, I tested this morning 12dpo and got a :bfn: I have no will power to wait. Maybe it was too early?? It is 4 days before my expected period. But probably not :( so bummed

They are not monitoring me, so they would probably not do an ultrasound...maybe if I asked, but since this is my first time, I was just going to go with the opks. I am CD 15, I think. My O has been off the past few months, but my monitor is on day 6 of highs, so I really think I peak is so close. Normally I would only get about 4-5 high days. I def plan to try to BD this weekend for extra measure.
