first cycle actively trying (June 2015)

Thanks guys ^^ I am so happy with it. ^^

Welcome gag ^^ how you doing? Tell us a little about yourself ^^

Hey!!
Ok.. Well I'm 31, my hubby is 32 and we are on our first cycle TTC for our first peanut. Feb I got my second mirena removed from having it in for 8 years (between two) and no AF the entire time. We are coming up on four years married in May and decided last year we wanted to start trying this year. We are hoping to be pregnant by May to tell his mom for mothers day as she has no grandkids yet. I do have MTHFR so I'm on a prenatal with methlyfolate but other than that.. Things are good!

Im so excited to be apart of such a great community. We have only told six people we are expecting.. Two couple who are our best friends and my parents as my step dad is an obgyn just in case I had any questions.

Welcome gagrl! :hi: that would be a lovely Mother's Day surprise! Hope your TTC journey is short and sweet! I don't know much about mirena, is that hormonal IUD? I don't know if it will mess with your cycles coming off it or not. Of course I hope not! When are you expecting AF? Thats awesome you and DH really planned this out, and congrats on your upcoming 4th anniversary!! :)

Welcome gag! Sounds like you have a plan! I hope it works out and you can announce to your MIL for mothers day. Just don't get to discouraged if it take a little longer than planned. I have heard IUDs can really mess with your cycles sometimes. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones. Any and all TTC questions or rants (even non ttc), we are all ears :)

Wifey- my first AF came March 7, so only 32 days after removal and I'm on my third and heaviest day so far. Not too bad after 8 years of it not coming. And yes you're right it's the hormonal IUD. Thankfully it looks like my body is recovering well.

Gina- I'm prepared for it not to happen immediately but obviously that is the ideal situation.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!

Oh, that's awesome! 32 days is perfect for the first cycle after Mirena then. Thats a lovely sign! Yes, always be prepared that it may take up to a year without any fertility issues, but I hope its asap for you!

I've seen a lot of ladies here on BnB talk about MTHFR, and honestly I wasn't sure what it was. I did a quick google search, and found the jist of it if anyone else here is unsure.. (not a legit resource but it's a quick idea). I would think that with good prenatal care and monitoring when you get your BFP all will be fine :) Good thing you know you have that, it will be a huge advantage to you! Is DH positive too?

This particular thread is my fave :) you'll love it here. This is the only thread where I've felt that others were genuinely there for me and cared. It's more than just "Testing this day, this symptom, that happened - I feel like this is my little group of girlfriends from all over. <3

We had a preconception meeting with maternal fetal and they really weren't too concerned about it actually. My husband didn't get tested for MTHFR because his insurance doesn't cover it and it's like a $3k test. Honestly I feel like we will be fine and if not we are totally ok with adopting so either way we will have a baby.

For now we are just going to enjoy the process. I will say this first cycle in 8 years has been fairly kind to me. Some nasty headaches and today the cramps are pretty bad but that's what I had before my cycle previous to the IUD. I used to deal with some nasty migraines too but so far none of those.

I am excited to have some people to discuss the process with. Only a very few people know about us TTC and I'd like to keep it that way.

Same here, only a small few number of people around me know about our TTC. That's awesome that it's not a major concern to them. Like I said, not familiar with it, so whatever you can teach me about it I'm open! :)

That's beautiful you're open to adoption! I feel that way too, no matter what we will have children and parents. We plan to adopt someday, it has always been part of our plan. We just want our own babies first if possible, as that's what DH thinks is best. We plan on a special needs baby, and DH wants he/she to have siblings and a whole family rather than just us as parents and that's it. If life turns out we just can't conceive, then we'll probably just do the special needs adoptions. :) There's so many babies, children and teens out there who need a family. <3

Aww thats so great! I totally agree, there are some beautiful babies out there who need love.

As far as MTHFR it is a genetic mutation. A great place to do some research is mthfr.net. Basically it predisposes you to some things but not everyone who has it deals with it. It can also cause early miscarriages.

I will say it's been a trying month a my anxiety and emotions were all over the place and my AF today is very heavy, but honestly I wouldn't expect it any less as it's been 8 years since I've had AF lol..

When my husband and I got married, it was a huge step for both of us as we both come from divorced families and neither of us ever thought we were getting married.
When we got married and talked about having kids, although it was a bit frightening we both agreed that we didn't want kids with anyone else. I didn't grow up with a dad.. My mom was an incredible single mother and she did everything she could to raise me right, but a mother can never do the same for a little girl as a father can.

I look at my husband and I'm so excited to see him with our kids. He is such a wonderful man and honestly I'm excited for my kids to experience what I never got to.. A daddy's love. I feel like I owe it to my husband as well as he grew up with his dad and his mom wasn't around much. To get to experience what life is like with a family that has both parents, I am so excited to give that to my kids.

Sorry for getting so deep lol.

Any thoughts ? 9dpo . I took frer this am which has very faint line (indent maybe)but first signal appears to have one .

Gag - I had zero withdrawal bleeds while on bcp, but oddly enough started bleeding just a few days after I stopped bcp (which is exactly what I would do every month for the sugar pill week). So odd that it happened that month, but not a single month before for 2 years. It's like our bodies just know it's time :). I also started my cycle on March 7th. Short cycles here though, so we might not be cycle buddies. Still we can wait for O together now. Are you doing opks or bbt?

Yay!! A cycle buddy! I'm doing bbt. I've been using the Kindara app and I'm taking temp at 6am everyday. According to the app, I should be ovulating around the 17.

What about you?

I'm doing bbt but probably skipping opks this cycle, using fertility friend. I usually O on cd12 and have 22 day cycles buuut this is my first cycle after a miscarriage (MMC) so I'm not sure if it will be regular or not.

Gag that post about your soon to be family made me tear up. That's such a sweet way to think to give your children what you didn't have.

Wifey that's so sweet you want to adopt special needs. I feel babies with special needs are the last to be adopted. Such big hearted people on this thread <3

Hoping I can see lines on all of those. Congrats.

I'll be praying for you, for a normal cycle and lots of dust this month!

Thanks! Honestly that's I've of my biggest dreams, to make an impact , for my life to mean something, and for my kids to have everything better then what I had.

Gag-I read that about your family and it's so special. I've seen alot of my friends that went through that with their family and even my DF went through it with his father how doesn't deserve to be a father.

My DF is more of a father to my son then any man I've ever met. He is amazing. And I know he will be an amazing father to our next baby.
I'm so glad you also have that possibility for your children. Your DH sounds amazing and I hope you can give your mother that great news on mothers day ^^

Wifey-your just incredible. Like gina said it's so rare for special needs children to get adopted and it's not easy and they'd be lucky to have you guys as parents ^^

That's so important for young boys to have a great male role model. Super excited to see your results this month...
