First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

I figured it would be along those lines. The only thing that may be different is that I am at a fertility clinic due to having a monitored cycle on Femara. I won't go to my midwife until 10 weeks. I guess I should have asked then I wouldn't have to wonde, but I was so excited that I forgot to ask. Lol

Jules: I am still at the fertility clinic, too, but the obgyn told me that if everything is okay at the first ultrasound I can set up my first nurse consultation with them. I think I would still do an 8.5 week ultrasound at the fertility clinic though before they release me to the regular obgyn.

Appt is on Monday! That's exciting.

How is everyone's energy level? I was fine until yesterday and then yesterday and today I feel majorly fatigue. I've heard first trimester that can happen so I thought I was doing really well at first, but now I'm yawning all day at work, lol. Hoping this is just temporary.

Also having weird vivid dreams so that's not helping my sleep. Last night I dreamt I was at the dentist for hours ????? Weird!

Hello Ladies,
may I join you?

First time pregnant, after 1 year and half trying!!
6 weeks pregnant, due date on Feb 17.
First ultrasound next Tues.

What are your symptoms for now?
We haven't told anyone yet, not even our parents, only my best friend, as I cannot hide anything from her and we are in different countries LOL

Excited for this new journey and happy to be able to share with you all!

My sister just gave me "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and it goes into great detail about the first appointment. Sounds like a lot of poking and prodding and going over yours and your family's history. So expect blood and urine tests, physical exams internal and external and ultrasound.

Panda - I was fine until yesterday too, except I'm a bit farther along. I'm not overly fatigued, just feel really groggy in the mornings and just a bit more run down. I'm not falling asleep early yet. Well I guess I have been falling asleep while watching tv shows, but that's not unusual for me :). I have started getting mild headaches yesterday and today. And my very very mild nausea seems to be more frequent. I've had weird dreams too over these last few weeks!

Welcome and congrats, PriandRafa!! We just told our families last Sunday and I was 6w5d. Keeping it a secret from extended family until after the first appointment, and then the world until hopefully the end of the first tri. I did tell my best friend a week after I found out. It feels good once you start letting the secret out! Eager to hear how your first ultrasound goes!

so just checking . . . when/what is your next appts?

I think I saw

June 30 - dustergirl, are they doing ultrasound
July 2 - me . . . first ultrasound at about 6.5 weeks
July 6 - ksquared, first ultrasound?
July 21 - thexfadingpat, first ultrasound? that's so long!

I keep freaking out that they won't see anything in there even though all symptoms are good and thankfully no spotting so nothing like that to make me nervous. I've just been through so much to get pregnant, it hardly seems real yet :)

My first appointment with nurse practitioner is next Monday! (6/29) not sure if it has ultrasound. We are also debating if DH should try to attend (will need to miss a couple hr of work)

My symptoms are starting to kick in more now...
I've been tired and have to pee a lot. I've been waking up at like 3am every night having to pee and then have so much trouble falling back to sleep.
And yesterday the nausea slowly started to kick in. I wake up feeling sick to my stomach, but haven't gotten sick yet. Fingers crossed that I don't.

thexfadingpat & ksquared: I just started nausea last night, too. I thought maybe it was a fluke because work ran long and difficult yesterday and I felt nauseous right after taking my vitamins, but today it's coming in waves. Very mild, but I think I may go out and get some of those seasickness bracelets.

I was thinking about ordering "What to Expect When Expecting", thanks for the info. It seems to be very popular so worth a look.

CAx3 and Jules: Both of you have appts Monday? Very excited to hear how they go.

PriandRafa: Welcome! We are on very similar schedules! Only a few days apart.

Hi Ladies,

it is soooo nice to see that we are all on the same page and feeling pretty much the same things. I'm so glad I found this group :happydance:

My nausea is also veeeery mild, and I take forever to have breakfast, because I feel my stomach doesnt want it, but then lunch and dinner I eat my entire plate :)
My boobs are very sensitive and they were already big, not they are already even bigger. I'm trying to hide them from my co-workers LOL

For the first appts, you need to check with your doctor's office has the ultrasound machine there. Mine doesnt.
I went there last Thursday, got blood drawn. On Friday, they only confirmed me I was pregnant, but did not give me any numbers.
They scheduled my ultrasound in a different location for this coming Tuesday, and then I go back to their office on Thursday to review the ultrasound, the numbers from the first draw and to draw more blood.

My family and hubby's family live overseas. (actually we are the ones living oversea, lol) So it is being easier to hide, since we dont see each other. We wanted to wait for the ultrasound on Tuesday and then call them with a picture of the ultrasound. Then I think I will tell some close friends, some ppl at work too, and my HR.
The rest, I'll wait until end of 1st tri.

thexfadingpat,

We have exactly the same day??
6 weeks, 2 days??
haha, that's too funny!!! :) :) :)

She will likely do an in-office ultrasound but not the full-on one with the tech. Since I have had cramping and spotting, I may push for a full one. I did go in last week for my sx and she did an in-office US, and we saw a heartbeat- so everything seems to be progressing well! My betas are good too- 84,600 on Tuesday up to 119,000 on Friday. :) Seems like I really do have a sticky bean in there!

The spotting and cramping should come as no surprise to me- my mom said she "had her period" the first few months of pregnancy...

At almost 8 weeks the nausea has started for me! Ugh.

CAx3 - How exciting that your first appointment is almost here! My friend didn't have her DH at her first appointment and was really disappointed because she didn't realize they would do an ultrasound. So I would think you'd want your DH there. Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Thexfadingpat - Last night I woke up twice to pee so maybe that's starting to kick in too. And the fatigue i think. But the nausea hasn't come back much. A tiny bit maybe every other day.

Panda - Hope the nausea doesn't get too bad! I have the bracelets but haven't needed to try them yet.

PriandRafa - Haha. My boobs feel so big but I don't think they actually look a lot bigger. Mine are small to begin with though :). Wow you have your appointment coming up quick too! I have another week to go. At least it's a short work week next week for July 4th. I'm like you - I want to have the ultrasound picture before we start telling more extended family and friends. Still want to keep it secret from work and everyone else for as long as I can. With such mild symptoms and hardly any nausea, it should be easier than I thought it would be.

Dustergrl - how awesome that you saw the heartbeat and your numbers are so good! Congrats! I'll be 8 weeks on Tuesday so we'll see. I think if there's no increase in nausea by 9 weeks, then it's not likely to happen. I still wish I would feel more pregnant!

DH and I are going out to a nice dinner tonight to finally celebrate that we're expecting. Hope you ladies are having a nice weekend!

Ksquared & panda fan - thanks, I am very excited and anxious as well.

DH and I just spent the day with good friends (a couple) of ours, and we were really torn about whether or not to tell. And we will also spend the day with my sister tmr, whom we have not told either.

We decided to wait until the first appt before we share the news. It's hard to be "fair" because our families live in different countries and time zones... I guess we will decide after Monday.

Sounds like a good plan, CAx3. Good luck tomorrow!

I had my first craving today. DH were watching TV and a commercial for McDonald's came on. And then I really really wanted a cheeseburger with pickles and onions. And then DH offered to go get me one, and holy cow I couldn't think about anything else until he brought it home. And it was SO GOOD. So then this afternoon I started getting hungry again and I started thinking about cheeseburgers again, so I bought two more. I ate one and saved the other for later. Help me!

Lol. I had a craving for McDonalds cheeseburgers yesterday too! My hubby got me the $2.50 double cheeseburger w\ small fries..soooo good.

We told my side of the family and everyone is super excited. My sister in law and my dad's gf cried happy tears. They have also already started the boy\girl debate. I also told my friend w\ infertility. She sounded gutted and I could hear that she was fighting tears. She has still been supportive and says she just had to let it sink in for a day. I totally get it so I'm not upset it wasn't an excited reaction right away.

How is everyone feeling?

The nausea finally kicked in for me at 7+5 (Saturday). I went out and bought Sea Bands and they seem to be helping a bit. I am also a bit less obsessed with the thought of mc- since symptoms continue to appear that's good, and my numbers are good... the nausea also requires my attention, so the focus can't be on mc. Actually makes it a bit less stressful.

I have also had 2 days in a row without spotting now!:happydance: Five more and I'll be off pelvic rest!

DH and I go in for my first real OB appointment tomorrow. I'm so excited! I did warn him that the ultrasound will be TV... he seemed slightly horrified but I think he'll get over it when he sees Bip on the screen!

We are planning on telling our families next weekend... we got married July 7 2012 so it will be about 3 years after our wedding. We thought that was perfect! It's also a great day to be able to get everyone in the same place at the same time. :)

Hello ladies!
I hope everybody is doing well!!!

I did not have MCD's cravings yet, but yesterday I really wanted popcorn after I saw a commercial on tv LOL

Jules8, I totally understand your friend. It took me 1 year and half to get pregnant and it seemed everyone else was getting pregnant. I was happy for them, but could not help feeling sad and sorry for myself!
It is a painful process :(
She is happy for you, she just wished she could be sharing the same moments with you.

dustergrl, so good to hear you stopped spotting!!! And good luck on your appt tomorrow :happydance:

My appt is also tomorrow!!! we are planning to do those photo announcements with the ultrasound pic, and then send it to our families only next Sat.
Everybody lives overseas so it is easier to not tell them, as we dont see each other and only talk on the phone once a week.
I have no idea about my numbers.... I went for blood work on June 18, but my next obgyn appt is only on July 2, and they only confirmed my pregnancy over the phone, nothing about the numbers...
It feels strange, as some of you already checked the numbers 2 or 3 times...
I am just praying all is alright and I get to hear the heartbeat tomorrow![-o<[-o<[-o<

Understand about the nausea being a nice distraction. At first I kept wondering if I was imagining it or if this was the real thing, but after a few days of it now, I am feeling a little less nervous, too. It at least seems like things are still happening.

ksquared: I can't tell if these seabands are working or not. Eating a small snack every hour seems to work the best for me, but even then sometimes it just doesn't go away completely. Definitely worse in morning for me and worse when tired.

Jules and Cax3: Can't wait to hear about the appointments!

My appt went good!

He just did a pelvic exam to check that cervix was closed, went over medications, talked about what goes on in the first trimester, and asked of we had questions...my husband had tons. Lol He also told me my EDD is Feb 20th and nit the 18th. I go next Wednesday for my first ultrasound.. I can't wait!!!

This is great news, Jules8!!!!
Great that hubby was there with you and asked all the questions :)

Cax3, wasnt your appt today too?
Let us know how it went!!!

I'm soo nervous for my ultrasound tomorrow... really afraid of mc....
wanted the 1st ultrasound for then start telling family and friends :)

Hope everyone has a good night

That's awesome Jules! Glad your appt went well! My due date is Feb 20th, too, but just based on internet calculator so we'll see what they say when they check at the doc.

Good luck Priand and dustergirl with your appts tomorrow! Priand: I'm with you on the nerves for the first ultrasound (mine is Thurs). Don't worry! I'm sure all is well! I keep looking at statistics. The numbers are comforting as the odds are in our favor. It will be so fantastic to see the heartbeat!

Cax3: any news? I hope you had a great appt!
