First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

Daisy- I hope things are still moving! :)

Panda- Sounds like things are really moving forward! That's so sweet of your husband. :)

fading- That all sounds delicious! lol Hopefully your day is coming soon! :)

AFM- I did everything I could this weekend. We walked, walked, then walked some more. I bounced, I did nipple stimulation, we had sex, and I even tried to just relax. Other than lots of mucous plug and a few contractions here and there....nothing. lol I decided that my body is just not ready yet as frustrating as it is. Everyone kept saying she would be early and jinxed me! lol

Hubby and I spent the weekend together. We went to the movies on Saturday and ran some errands just to get out to walk. For valentines day we had a nice dinner at home and watched a movie then had sex for the first time in like 6 weeks last night. As much as I love the man, he is not romantic at all so I wasn't expecting anything more than that. lol

Jules thank you but nothing here yet. Some cramps in the AM that fizzle out, cramps at night that fizzle out, lots of tightenings.
Have tried the same thing with no results! Although I'm not walking as I seem to have lost all my energy.

It sounds like you ladies all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! We just went out for breakfast with the in-laws, and hung out at home. I gave DH a card but that was the extent of our celebrations. Dorian sucks up most of our time!!!

Daisy: I did a lot of stairs in the week before I had Dorian; the school I work in doesn't have any elevators.

AFM: Dorian and I went for another lactation appointment today. He's up to 8lb- so by his weight check tomorrow he should be back to birth weight! He is having a hard time keeping his bottom lip out while latching, and it is causing me to have a lot of pain while he's nursing, especially on my left side. I did have nipple piercings at one point, though, and she said that the scarring may also be influencing his latch. She also said he has a very mild posterior tongue tie that could be causing issues, but most likely we should be able to work through it. If he keeps munching instead of nursing when he is at breast, though, she advised we take him to a specialist to be evaluated. For now, she has no problem with me continuing to use the nipple shield if it means getting a good latch and allowing him to nurse. I'm sorry- to whoever asked: I'm using a Medela full nipple shield, the larger size because apparently I have enormous nipples- lol! I'm also using the 30mm breast shields for my pump- and could even stand to go larger on my left! ETA: I'm up to 3-4oz pumping now, every 3-4 hours. That is after nursing!

Jules: Glad you had a nice relaxing V-day! I'm trying the same things: sex, walking, etc. Even tried pineapple and spicy food today. My friend suggested eggplant . . . never heard that one before.

Daisy: sounds like you are having a lot of tightenings/BH contractions still. Mine are much fewer and far between. I wonder if that means you will be next? One of these times they will finally increase to active labor for you!

xfading: Interesting that the sex caused contractions! I haven't had any reaction from it. Not even slight cramping.

Fingers crossed for us all that things get moving soon!

Today was the date I had picked on the birthday pool for the baby to come so I've lost that game, lol. My husband picked the 22nd (day after my due date) and keeps telling me he's going to win and I told him he's mean for wanting me to wait that long.

I've had increased discharge. It's light brown, but I think that might still be remnants of old blood from the cervix check. I'm back to being constipated, though, so I think that's a bad sign that things aren't ready yet. Had to take some miralax this afternoon.

The only thing that might be a sign is that today I had ENERGY for the first time in weeks. I've been so fatigued and sleepy for days and days, but today I was feeling active: did laundry, cleaned, organized my sock drawer, got some paperwork and emails done. Not sure if this is the nesting thing people talk about. It didn't seem extreme or anything. Just almost like I felt normal instead of exhausted.

Did a lot of dancing around the house to hip hop music trying to go into labor, too, much to hubby's entertainment.

Daisy- Mine come and go at night time too then fizzle...it's getting frustrating. I'm curious to see if that's when things will start.

Duster- Yay for his weight being up!! It sounds painful, but at least things are working with some adjustments. Though it sounds like your milk production is really good! :)

Panda- I am keeping my fingers, toes, and everything else crossed for all of us! I think we are all ready to meet our babies. Seems like we have a few stubborn ones. lol Energy is good to get moving, hopefully it helps kick things into gear. My guess for me is Thursday so I am hoping i'm right. I am going to guess Saturday for you. :)

AFM: I am feeling good despite a little waddle from the pressure and some breathing issues yesterday. I called the doctor and she said that it's pretty normal, but if I show any signs of lack of oxygen (blue lips, blue nail bed, dizziness, feeling faint) to go in right away. I slept with the humidifier last night and that seemed to really help so I am keeping it on all the time now.

Duster, glad Dorian is getting his weight up! It seems you are getting the hang of nursing, that is great! I hope that I will be successful in BF

Panda, sex has been causing tightenings at or near orgasm since 25 weeks or so. They usually are not painful, and I wouldn't get them every time we DTD. Bu lately when we do I'm definitely getting BH but no cramping or anything. Good for you on your burst of energy, mind sending some of that my way? :winkwink: I hope you go soon, somebody in this group just go into labor already! :haha:

Jules I get cramps morning and night. Same as you I am curious to see if that is when labor ends up starting :) I use a diffuser with peppermint oil when my lungs are acting up. Works wonders! Glad you are feeling better :flow:

AFM just a grumpy goose right now! My feet are so swollen, might share a pic later because it's almost comical. Keep waking up with nausea and the onset of a headache but able to quell it most days. No signs other than lots of wiggles further down than normal (so maybe Zodi is lower in my pelvis?), and some light cramping that comes and goes throughout the day. Sometimes it's my upper abdomen, sometimes it's in my back. and they'll come soon before or soon after a BH. Looser stool and movements are more frequent than I would expect for how I have been eating. Going to spend another day resting up, exhausted!

I hope these signs turn into something for one of us soon!

I had another appointment today. My midwife did a sweep on me and was able to stretch me to 3cm. I am also very thinned, supposedly all of my mucous plus is gone, and baby is stationed at -1. Anything can happen, but she doesn't think I'll make it past this weekend. I hope she's right. I'm having a lot of cramping after the sweep and am hoping maybe tomorrow I'll wake up in labour. 😁

Good for you I hope someone goes into labor soon! I haven't even noticed any plug except a booger personally :dohh: but I'm apparently dilated and thinned out too. Tomorrow being your due date, I'd hope your chances are better than mine for labor!

Ladies, I love reading about your progression and symptoms! I can't wait for you to join me in mommyhood!

AFM: Dorian is above birth weight now- 8lb, 3oz! No more waking for feedings- he gets to call the shots on eating now!!! It will be nice to not have to wake up the dead baby (and the dead me) to try to get him to eat!

Dorian is soo adorable. It makes me want my little boy here even more.

Oh my gosh, xfading! You are almost there! I hope things are going to progress soon for you; I am so excited for you!

Thank you for the compliments on Dorian. I'm so in love with his eyes. He is two weeks old today!

Hi ladies! Jayson was born last night at 8:56pm! He was 7lb 10 oz and 20.5in long.

Here's what happened. Monday had bad constipation with bloody stool and was worried so took Miralax at night. In middle of the night was having bad cramps that I thought were from the Miralax. Got up to go to bathroom around 4:30am and as I stood up my water broke. It was very pink with blood so I called doc and they told me shower, eat breakfast and head in. My contractions were 30 sec avg 5 min apart.

3cm dilated when arrived at 7am. Because water broke and my Group B strep was positive they started me on antibiotics and Pitocin since my contractions had slowed. Was 5cm at 11:30. Around 1:30pm was 7cm and contractions from Pitocin had wore me out so I got epidural. By around 4pm I was fully dilated but baby was at zero station and they wanted him to drop more toward +5. They upped me epidural to help me relax and I fell asleep.

By 5:30 he had only dropped to +1 but they decided to have me start pushing ... I pushed hard for 2.5 hours with no progress. Head would move forward and then slide back. Was so disheartening and nurse said prob c-section because my pelvic bones were too small. Doc came in and reiterated the c-section concerns with my scar tissue. She did another feel then said baby was doing fine and she thought we should keep trying as she felt I could do it. Started pushing again with her helping push pelvic bones with her hand and suddenly he started moving. Took another hour but I finally got him out. Was so happy!!!!

He also latched on to breast really well and so far no nipple pain.

We are at hospital til Thurs.

I'll post a pic in a sec.

Okay figured out how to do on phone.

Daisy- I'm sorry if your feeling grumpy. This waiting around at the end can drive a person nuts! lol

Fading- I hope things start moving for you. :) How did the sweep feel?

Duster- He is getting big so fast! I love seeing pictures and getting updates.

:dohh: and then there were three... I've started a journal to pass the time, I figure it's a good place to have a moan!
Are you getting any signs? Nothing new for me, same old symptoms going nowherrrrrre

I'm getting so impatient! I had a journal that I posted in a little throughout the pregnancy, but I have been posting every day the past few days.

I don't have any new signs really. I have been super tired, some cramping last night, and still losing plug...basically nothing that goes anywhere. I have a feeling it's going to catch me by surprise.

I have a doctors appt. tomorrow. I sure hope I have some sort of progress.

Do you get your cervix checked? My appt is Friday I was 2 CM and 70% last time... Is it possible to go backwards? :haha:

Panda- congratulations! He is adorable! :)

Sorry to you ladies still waiting... I remember that game. Just when I thought I couldn't get any more uncomfortable, it got worse...

Oh my Gosh, I really disappeared from here and going through all the readings I initially thought I was going to "meet" a lot of babies, then I thought maybe not, and just by the end I met Jayson!!!!

Congrats, Panda!!!! And soooo nice you were able to do it natural!!
He is soooo cute!!!

So for now we are up to 3 boys here! Where are the girls?? :) :) :)

Ladies, I cant imagine how impatient you all should be at this point.
A little bit more and we all will be holding our little bundle of joy!

Duster, Dorian looks cuter and cuter at each picture! And so great to see that he got used to feeding and his weight is up and all is well now!

AFM: my dad and stepmom left yesterday, so now I have my mom and stepdad, which are the ones that really helped and still do. My mom is holding Ben while my stepdad is grocery shopping and I get to catch up with you all :hugs:
Ben has different nights each night, I really dont know what to expect LOL
During the day he is calm, sleeps a lot, eat, etc. during the night he wakes up more, is a lazy feeder. But last night was the first night after 1 week that he actually woke up every 2 and half hours to eat and did not cry at all.

Duster:
Are you counting the feedings as the time he starts or the time he finishes?
I read everywhere it should be the time he starts, but then if it is supposed to be every 3 hours, and he takes about 40 minutes to eat, another 10 min to burp, then to change and to put him back to sleep, it feels like he is not sleeping much, or we are not sleeping at all....
I'm kind of feeding on demand, but would love to start a feed / sleep routine....

Finally, after 1 week, some pics to follow
