First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

We've been having sex once a day for about the past week. And yesterday I even tried pumping a bit. Nothing.

In the same boat but still have 13 days to D-Day :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
I heard eggplant, spicy food, pineapple, going for abumpy drive....

I'm sure they are all tales but who knows!!! They might just take your mind off it long enough to put you in labor

Jules, I'm so excited for you! :) I can't wait for the rest of you to join the already-mommies!!!!

I hope the rest of you start progressing soon! Ladies, I am convinced that the several flights of stairs (activity past what I was used to) in the week before delivery set me off. Don't kill yourself doing a bunch of exercise but try to stay active! :)

Dorian had his first bath last night. :) His belly button is all healed up!

Loving that little face. Duster I hear ya I have (instinctually?) been itching to go for a walk. My feet are super tender b/c swelling but trying to get moving since I'm pretty much on bedrest! I have a ball that I bounce on and do circles with and drinking plenty of water and RLT

An article for your reading pleasure, ladies- better late than never! It's about that eating dates in the weeks (month, really, but it never hurts to try) before labor is supposed to ease labor: https://www.mamanatural.com/dates-during-pregnancy/

Hope all is well. My little ham is in 3mo clothes already!

Thank you for the good thoughts guys! :) I need a lot more because this is going to be a long process. So I was admitted for pregnancy hypertension and induction via pitocin. They started slow and contractions were coming. They were intense and about every 3 minutes then they just stopped, even with full strength pitocin. So they turned it off let me sleep, relax, take a shower, and then having breakfast. After that then they will check me and see what the next step is.

Duster- I have been eating dates for a while. They are pretty good, but not sure if it helped or not yet.

Fading- Keep it up! Baby has to do out eventually. I have my fingers crossed it happens soon!

Daisy- You keep it up too! You got this and Zodi will be here before you know it!

How is everybody doing today?

I've been getting some major pressure in my pelvis, but nothing else. I have a feeling that he is going to be a little butthead and put me through pain and labour tomorrow on my birthday.

Dorian is going in on Monday to have his tongue tie evaluated. He has now picked up the bad habit of gulping air when nursing, which in turn is causing vomiting. My poor dude. :/ I did order a baby scale though, so I can monitor his weight without running to the pedi every few days.

I'm out for a nap; my mom is here helping out so it gives me a few moments to myself! Here's hoping for a quick labor for all of you!

Jules, any update? So weird that your contractions just stopped :dohh: how frustrating that must have been! Hope things went well for you girl :hugs:

Fading, happy birthday! (technically early but I think you will read this tomorrow :) ) Labor on your b-day doesn't sound fun. It's my FIL's b-day tomorrow too and I hope I don't go into labor either!

Duster, at least you are figuring out what's going on with the little guy! It sucks that things seem to never go perfectly. FX that this issue resolves itself soon!

AFM? Still here, very emotional today and tired. Fatigue maybe due to iron. I had MW appt and 2 cm dilated still but could be stretched to 3 cm and 80% effaced. When she checked she said she went right past my cervix  not sure if she meant up into my uterus or what? HB and NST looked good, feeling rather low and lethargic

Congratulations panda fan. So special is your boy, you waited so long for him, and now you have a present from heaven. Enjoy:flower:

Everything crosses for the rest of the ladies. I Hope you will progress sudden and have a smooth birth. I agree with walking and doing sit ups. I did those all my pregnancy and even in the tub during the labor.

Duster, such a nice first bath.
Dont forget massage with olive oil. Imagine poor LO could move around for 9 months in your womb and now he needs to sleep on his back for at least 4/5 months.
I agree with you. Get a scale and a measuring tape. Avoid taking a healthy baby to the dr. if there is no need. Swine flu epidemic is right now. Ask your visitors if they have sniffles cos little runny nose and congestion for a baby could be a very serious problem cos he cant breath through the mouth and his feeding will not be the same.

I've finally started to lose plug... No blood though, just snot.

Having a few contractions with cramps and backache  fading you still hanging in there girl??

Still here.
I was having some pretty painful contractions after having sex last night, but they were far apart and completely stopped when I went to bed. And today I think I started a bit of my bloody show. But nothing else has changed.

How are you ladies doing? It gets so quiet on here over the weekends!!!

It's interesting to read about your experiences because for me everything happened so fast. I didn't get bloody show until I was walking out the door to go to the hospital (peed and discovered it before leaving, and KNEW it wasn't spotting from the exam the day before).

AFM I feel like I can't catch a break. I have a breast infection which I believe is in a Montgomery's gland, because I am getting drainage to the surface of the areola, not through my nipple. It is a hard lump under the skin, red, and verrrrrry painful. Hopefully a course of anti-b's will clear it up.

ETA: I am on antibiotics, 4x/day. The lump is extremely painful, and the urgent care doctor wasn't exactly sure what this is. He said he believes it to be either an infected cyst or abscess. Tomorrow, I will be following up with my OB, or a general surgeon. Since this is under my areola, it will prove to be a challenge to drain while still allowing me to breastfeed on my left breast. Ladies, advice: if you even THINK something might be wrong, get it checked out. This came on extremely quickly and is already causing me extreme stress and pain.

Ladies! Where are you?! Dying to know what's going on!

AFM I have been pushed around from doctor to doctor to deal with this breast abscess. It is more painful than childbirth... but was told to call the local hospital tomorrow morning to schedule an ultrasound-guided aspiration (fluid removal). Needless to say, I'm getting rather frustrated with my clinic. If this isn't taken care of tomorrow, I'll be switching clinic companies.

Dorian also had his tongue tie clipped today :) It was the quickest, easiest procedure and I even got to hold him for it. It took all of 10 seconds for him to clip it; Dorian cried for about two minutes afterward, and then they had me try to nurse. I already notice the difference in his sucking- but it will take some time for both of us to get used to.

duster I went to the hospital last night b/c contractions were in a consistent pattern 5-6 min apart and I suspected waters. No waters, was just dehydrated and didn't progress past 3 cm in 90 min, also Zodi was -2. So they d/c me and what do you know I'm still pregnant :dohh:

ETA sorry about the abscess or whatever is going on :nope: that can't be helping you adjust to this new (almost elusive?) life of motherhood. Good that Dorian's procedure was essentially painless! That must be a relief. GL to you guys moving forward

Hi ladies!I hope those still waiting are hanging in there and those with their babies are settling in to mommyhood. :)

I'm sorry I was a bit MIA...its been one thing after another. Friday morning they realized the reason the first try at induction didn't work because she never dropped. So they broke my water and started the pitocin. One minute I was bouncing on the ball, the next I was shaking from the pain. I only had 2 hours of sleep and knew it would take forever if I didn't get relief. Well once the epidural kicked in I was so relaxed I fell asleep. When I woke up they checked me and I was 9 1/2 cm. 15 minutes later I was 10 and ready to push. I only pushed for 24 minutes and she was out! :)

Then the sucky stuff started. I had a fever so she got one too. They had to keep doing bloods and tests. We also had to stay longer. I also had major clotting and a second degree tear...ouch!

We got home and I thought all was finally OK. Well we went to the doctor yesterday and she is now jaundice. So back to the hospital where they had to do bloods...twice. Poor baby's voice is hoarse. We got a blanket and have to do bloods every day til its cleared.

Besides all that I am in love! She is so beautiful and sweet. I could kiss her cheeks all day. :)

Here is some baby girl spam. :)

Jules I am so glad to hear from you!
What a showdown you went through huh? :hugs: well it's all over now and you have your sweet little baby girl. What's her name? :)

Congrats Jules!! She's so cute.

That sounds painful Duster. Hopefully whatever it is heals soon for you.

A nothing new with you today, Daisy?

I had another midwife appointment today. Nothing has changed since last week... still 3cm and he's at -1. She did another sweep and then OH and I went for a long walk. And now I'm bouncing on my ball for the rest of the night. *crosses fingers*
If he doesn't come before then, on Thursday I have to go for a NST ultrasound to make sure fluids and blood flow are good. Then I'll have another on Sunday/Monday. And worst case, if I make it until next Wednesday (42 weeks) I'll have to go for an induction.

Omg so much to catch up on!

Pri: Ben is beautiful! Love the pics!

Jules: Sorry things were complicated. I spiked a fever, too, during labor and they added 2nd antibiotic. Then I spiked again on day we were supposed to lv but it calmed down and they gave me okay to go at 4pm BUT then they noticed Jayson was jaundiced. We ended up going home that night (thurs) at 7pm but had to go back to hospital every morning til Mon to get his blood drawn. That plus 2 pediatrician appts was exhausting our mornings. But J's jaundice cleared up on own and we finally got the okay so I'm sure your she'll be fine soon! At worst they will do the sun lamp which seems quite common from speaking to friends of mine.

Duster: so sorry about the lump OUCH! I've had a few minor duct backups that cleared on own but pain was so sucky cause it radiates thru chest and back. I can't imagine what you must be going thru!!!! I hope you get some relief very soon. Bath picture is adorable! We have the same whale one :) Dorian is such a cutey.

Ksquared: Such a joy to see that ultrasound. So happy things are progressing great. Can't wait to hear confirmation on whether it's a girl!

Daisy and xfading: seems like it could happen any second now! Good luck! When it starts it's an immediate crazy rollercoaster :)

AFM: Jayson is great. So chill. Feeds well. Only nipple pain I get is when I get sort of backed up engorged which is very sore all over chest and so it hurts at first when he latches, but so far the engorgement seems to go away in between and my mom says it should regulate soon. I already pumped once after a feeding cause it still hurt and I was swollen and got 6 ounces!! For now I'm just going to pump if I'm sore as we won't start bottles til 4 weeks. I'm afraid to overproduce if I pump regularly and then I'll be swollen all the time.

I can't believe he's 1 week. He's already up to 8lb from his birth weight of 7lb 10 oz. 21 inches now so he's just starting to be too long for some newborn stuff but too skinny for 0-3 mo.
