First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

Insomnia has been terrible for me. I normally go to bed at 10 pm. I wake up at around 1am and 4am to pee and to try to get comfortable again. And each time I wake up it takes me a good 45-60 minutes to fall back asleep. Then on work days I have to be awake at 6:30am.

Fading, Daisy, sorry for the insomnia.... it is terrible!!!
I try to go pee early because I know that if I go past 4am, then I will have trouble falling back asleep!

Jules, how was your ob appt?
hope you are feeling better from the reflux!

AFM: yesterday I had my appt, so I planned ahead! I had steak for lunch and drank camomile tea right after! It worked, Ben was veeery calm during the u/s and we were able to get some pictures!!!!
He is 5.5 lbs, HB of 166 bpm and measuring on schedule.
I mentioned to the dr about the lovely reflux, and the told me to buy over the counter Nexium 24. Will start taking tomorrow and see how that goes!

Have my next appt in 2 weeks on 01/20, then, we start doing every week!
It is getting scary close LOL

and suuuuper excited for Baby Shower this Sat. So it is me, Jules, Panda and I think we had a 4th one, didn't we??

Here is the pic of little Ben :cloud9:

Priand what a sweet picture! Have fun at your baby shower Saturday. Can't believe how close we are getting! Does red meat and chammomile tea calm all babies in the womb?

Pri: what a fantastic picture! So clear! He's adorable! Have fun at baby shower Saturday!

I am getting back to sleep okay but getting up a lot more to pee since baby dropped lower. I feel like I sleep a lot but not as deeply, so I am much more tired during the day.

Had appt this morning and doc said baby is head down based on where his heartbeat sounded loudest. Was very glad. He still moves side to side a lot but hopefully he stays head down now.

Hi ladies! Yes, I have my baby shower this Saturday too. My side of the family is doing this one for me. I also had a shower last weekend, hosted by the in-laws.

Otherwise, no news is good news here. I am getting sore, and the heartburn sucks. When my coworkers have been asking me how I'm doing, I have begun to reply, "I'm ready." I also had my Tdap shot on Tuesday and am super sore from that.

xfading and Daisy- so sorry for the insomnia. I haven't had insomnia but have been sleeping only about 5 hours at a time.

Pri: what a sweet picture! I bet you can't wait to meet him!

Panda: glad to hear baby is head down- hope it stays that way! I'm hoping mine is. S/he wasn't at my last appointment.

Happy New Year! Anyone develop any new cravings? Mine fluctuate- right now (cooked) sushi and soft serve frozen yogurt are at the top of the list.

Jealous of all you girls having your showers this weekend!
We won't be having one until after he comes because everyone has just been so busy lately with the holidays. I'm grateful that somebody wants to throw us one, but I also really didn't want to have it after... I already know I'm going to hate having all these people tying to hold and pass around my newborn. I want him all to myself and husband. Especially considering February/March is still flu season.

Daisy,
since for me at least, red meat makes me sleepy as the body takes longer and more effort to break it down, I thought that it could work for the baby as well.
And same thing for the chamomile tea. It is a tea to help you relax, no caffeine, so I gave it a try.
Coincidence or not, it worked LOL

Panda,
great all is well and that he is already head down. Mine is too, but I'm not too worried about his position, since I'm having a C-Section regardless.
Enjoy your shower tomorrow!

Duster,
same to you!! Enjoy your shower!! and wow, 2 showers in 2 weeks!!!! Hope the first one was fun :)
Replying "I'm ready" is a good one!! And good that your 2 cravings are not only good, but kind of on the healthy side!! I've been eating a lot of cooked sushi throughout the pregnancy! loved it!

Fading,
looking at the bright side, having a shower later, means you already know what you need; what is really important and what is useless!! And you will know which size clothes to get :) :) :)
But yes, having him being outside of your womb really will make him the star of the shower and it will be hard to keep people off him!!

Anyone taking maternity pics?
I was thinking of taking them....

Hi ladies! Wow, I can't believe how close it's getting for all of you. You must be so excited!

Pri - Aww little Ben is adorable! Pretty soon you'll get to stare at that little face all day :).

I just wanted to give you ladies an update after my first appointment yesterday. We have a blob and a heartbeat! Measured 7+1, which is pretty on target, and a heartbeat of 160. DH took video of the screen so I can listen to little sprout's heartbeat anytime. My doctor is so great - she's having me come back in 10 days for another scan and then again 2 weeks after that. So I'll never have to wait too long and stress. I'm not going to feel comfortable until I make it past 11 weeks and to the 2nd tri, and even then probably not fully at ease. But I'm feeling good now :). Just wanted to share with you ladies since you've all been so sweet and supportive :hugs:

Here is our blob. The top blob is the yolk sac and the bottom blob is the baby :cloud9:

Pri, no maternity photos for me. I feel like a whale.

ksquared, aw yay blob! So happy for you!

ksquared, love your blob!

Pri, if I'm going to have a maternity photo, I think it will be my 31 week photo. Just been such a grouch and in so much exhaustion and pain lately I don't even want to think about posing for a camera. Not to mention I feel like a whale :nope:

Ksquared: So nice to hear from you and with such good news!!
Loved your blob and loved that your doctor is being so nice and understanding and letting you be more at ease with more appointments!!
This is rare these days!!!!

Ladies,
I feel like a whale too, but I think that in the future I might regret not having taken them, so I think I will go ahead and schedule mine for next week, because I'm really getting huge! 35 weeks this week!!!

Can't believe we are almost there!

For the ones with the shower this past Sat, how did it go?
Mine was great and I was soooo happy with it!

Now, time to organize, see what we are missing and hit the stores :)

Pri- What a great photo of little Ben. :) I am doing last minute maternity pictures, I had not looked up ideas or anything then my friend got them as a shower gift. They are next week when I am almost 36 weeks. On one hand I am excited and another I feel gross! lol So glad your shower went well!!

Duster- I feel ya on telling people you're ready. I was feeling great then a few days ago I started to feel super uncomfortable so I am def. ready for these next few weeks to fly by.

Fading- I understand not wanting to share. Hopefully everything goes well and you get lots of stuff you really need. :)

Ksquared- So happy that your doctor is listening and understanding. It is always nice to find a doctor that really cares. I love the blob pic and that heartbeat will def. be comforting.:)

Daisy- I love that picture! You def. don't look like a whale.

AFM- My ob appt. went fine. Just the normal check up. I have my next appt. on the 21st then I will be starting my weekly appts. My shower went great!!! So many people showed and we got a lot of things we needed, especially clothes and diaper. Now I need to figure out what else we need and start organizing. My in-laws are holding our crib/carseat/stroller hostage. They were supposed to bring them up the past 3 weekends, but bailed each time. It would really be nice to start setting things up.

Anyone else feel really unprepared? I mean we have all the needs, but so much to gclean/put together and I am losing energy. lol

Hi Ladies! I can't believe how fast our due dates are coming now!

Duster: 2 showers is prob a good idea! I had both sides of family and several friends at mine and while it was great, I felt like I had barely time to talk to each person!! Sounds like fun and hope you got lots of what you need for little one! Sorry you aren't feeling too well. I am getting the TDAP and Flu shot this week. I'm not looking forward to that. Sounds like they are underplaying the "you might be a tiny bit sore" thing.

xFading: On one hand it's hard to not have shower and then know what you still need to buy, but on the other hand I was thinking of all the people who will want to be visiting the house (so I'll have to clean!) after baby. Maybe it will be nice to have everyone get to see baby at shower.

Pri: Glad your shower was fun! You sound so happy :)!! I am just nervous about head down because if I have to get C-section it's high risk since I have scar tissue running from navel to pubic bone from my previous surgery, so they would have to cut through that and I could potentially have dangerous bleeding from it or even develop more scar tissue that could cause issues when I try for #2. I completely understand you wanting C-section instead of risking your back. You'll want to feel as good as you can for baby!!! It's probably also easier to plan it instead of having an emergency one, so hopefully it will be more relaxing that way as you'll be prepared.

kSquared: I am so so happy for you!!! Love the blob!!!! It will have little limbs and features so soon now!! Feel your pain on having anxiety after loss, but just remember probability is totally on your side that everything will be fine and baby will be just perfect! Glad doc is carefully monitoring to relieve some worry. Keeping your little one in my thoughts :)

Daisy: cute pic!! Like that its's a fun outdoor one!!!

Jules: So glad your shower went great as well! I also am overwhelmed by thought of stuff still to do. Even just washing all the new baby clothes now that I'm larger and tired!!! Hope you are getting some R&R time in between tasks. Watch some trashy tv and have some tea :)

My shower was super fun although totally exhausting LOL!! The biggest surprise was 2 friends I've known since Kindergarten but haven't seen in 3 years and only briefly then, came up and stayed overnight at my house and we went to brunch. It was such nice girl time and it was nice to just pick up where we left off and catch up on each others lives.

Baby seems to be staying head down and just shifting a lot left to right. The rolling stomach looks hilarious. Kicks are generally lighter feeling as he's mostly facing back, but every once in a while he still surprises me with a WALLOP!

My breasts have just starting leaking actual fluid. I had noticed some dried yellow (sorry, sounds gross) on one side a few times in the past several weeks, but only a tiny bit. Today I had a teensie bit of liquid I could see coming out on both sides. I felt weird relief that it seems like my boobs can actually make milk. I guess I was worried they wouldn't work or something?! haha I remember one person at least started leaking a while ago but now I forget which of you???? Anyone else leaking?

Daisy, I love that photo! I also get feeling like a whale!

Pri- my showers were both great! I feel like I shouldn't even say this but my work is throwing me one this coming Friday too! I am so blessed to work with such wonderful people; it really is amazing.

Jules- I feel super unprepared. I actually did wash all the baby clothes we have over the weekend, and have put together a stack of things to bring to the hospital for Bip- but still have so much to do in the nursery, training my mom for housesitting, etc.

Panda- I have been leaking a bit too. I just ordered my breast pump today, through insurance. I guess under the ACA we should all get a pump covered through insurance! Have you ladies heard this or ordered one yet? Which ones are you planning to get? I got the Medela Pump In Style Starter Pack.

AFM: 36 weeks today! Have my last 2-week OB appointment tomorrow, then go to every week. I can't believe it is almost here! I still have to pack my hospital bag; that really needs to be done yesterday.

It's been really cold here. Our chickens' eggs have been freezing and cracking!

ETA: Lol ladies, I just downed an apple in record time at midnight because I was craving apple! At least my cravings are healthy...

Jules YES feeling unprepared. OH and I are just now moving into a new house (are you f***n kidding me?! )and we have 0 baby stuff. Granted, things are being shipped on the way, but jeez. It's kind of hard to feel like you have a baby when there are no preparations for them at all!!!!

Panda, Zodi is rolling around from left to right too, also engaging quite a bit. It's fun to feel their feet on one side and bum on the other side as they kick away in there. I have been leaking colostrum for a while too but breast milk depends on being stimulated enough by baby's suckling

Hi Ladies,

I have a cold and I'm not feeling too great :(
and need to get better for Saturday as we are taking the maternity pictures!
Everybody at work is sick, hubby was sick last week, so I guess I saw it coming!

Duster:
yayyy for 3 baby showers!!!! My work is supposed to throw me a "surprise" one, but nothing yet... I'm already telling everybody that I am leaving in 3 weeks, like "get your act together, time is running out" LOL
Yes, my insurance also covers 100% the breast pump and I am also going towards the Medela one. I have to call them to see how can I order it.

Panda:
positive thinking it will all work out!! you will be able to go natural and won't have to worry about the scar tissue. Did you take your shots?

Jules: feeling so unprepared myself too. I;m planning to wash baby things this weekend, before I wanna go buy some more stuff that we need and did not get on the baby shower and then I would wash it all together.
But crazy to think that in a way, at anytime our babies can decide it's their time!

Daisy:
you are so brave to be moving at this stage LOL
Good luck with all!!

AFM: trying to get better ASAP, have my appt next Wednesday, that's when we will go through and schedule the C-Section with the hospital and everything and then it will be weekly appts.
Maternity pics this SAT, and trying to get ready and get everything ready too!!

It is soooooo close!!!

Panda - So glad you had a nice shower and got to spend some time with your long time friends, :) I have a few that I have know for that long now and we are spread out all over the place so it is always special when we are able to see each other. Are you leaking often or just here and there? I started quite a while ago, but it has eased up since. It awesome to know they work! lol

Duster- Yay for weekly appts!! Your getting so close! I don't have my bag packed either. I should probably do that soon....lol Oh , no for frozen eggs. It's starting get cold here too. I was starting to hope that winter would just stay in the 50s.

Daisy- I am sure moving at this point is exhausting. Though, at least you are getting it out of the way before baby is here. I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Pri- I hope you feel better! Have fun with your maternity pictures. :)

AFM: I have our 8 hour baby class at the hospital tomorrow, my breastfeeding class on Tuesday, Wednesday I have a hair appt, my last 2 week appt. is on Thursday morning, and maternity pics are Thursday afternoon. I am exhausted just thinking of it. lol As unprepared as I feel, I am soooo ready for maternity leave! 8 weeks of baby and no work is going to be awesome. :)

Pri, when are you hoping to get your c-section! Can't believe some of us are already making that appt, wow we are getting so close ladies! Pretty soon our sweet little treasure will be in our arms and pooping in their diapers (and doing lots of other things that make us love them unconditionally)

Jules, that sounds busy! I hope you learn lots at your classes. Are you going for any kind of theme for your maternity pics?

AFM: just a wreck! Moving, fighting with OH, no sleep, don't want to eat, gotta love it!!!

duster: I also got a Medela pump. My insurance covered the basic electric one, but I paid for an upgrade as I am hoping to try the hands free option. I start my every week apps this Thursday, too. Can't believe it's that time!

Daisy: I can't imagine moving during this time! I'm sure new place is exciting, but must be hard. I'm glad you said you don't want to eat! I feel crazy. No appetite! I thought I'd be hoovering food at this point, but after two bits of anything I'm full and yucky feeling.

Pri: So sorry you have a cold! I had one for a few days last week and I used a lot of saline spray and I just used a child's dose of Benadryl to sleep and that really helped. Doc recommended that and as much as I didn't want to take medicine, I really needed the sleep. Hope your surprise shower happens soon and is lots of fun!! Can't wait to see your maternity pics. Had my shots. No soreness! Hubby was super sore from his so I guess I got lucky.

Jules: I'm just finally packing my bag today. I have like 3 different lists from the internet. I'm sure I'm in danger of overpacking, lol. Sounds like you have a busy week! I hope your classes are good and can't wait to see pics! Only leaking very rarely and only like single tiny drops forming on nips. Most of the time there's nothing.

AFM: Baby is crazy as ever. So sore as I'm sure you guys understand. Last night I feel a really sore spot on my stomach and looked under my shirt and there was what I can only assume was a foot sticking way out. Ouch!!

Packing my bag today. Still want to make a music playlist. Are you girls doing that? What's your music plan if so?

Here's my latest bump strip. Bad quality selfies, but it's fun to see the belly grow.
