Glasgow mummies-to-be! anyone due in September?

Wat a day!! Got my scan today :), im 12 weeks 3 days so now due 22/9, got to say the southern general was a nightmare!!!, 3 & a half hours!!!! Sum where nice others were mean, im slightly high risk coz of weight so need to go bk and forth there rather than local, ankles still swollen after today, the one thing that got me was I didnt get to actually hear my babys heartbeat :( just seen it.... Was luking forward to it aswell :(... Neways im just happy my baby is ok xx

woohooo lollypops your due day after me in same hospital lol

Tinytabby, usually 2-3 days. I've looked in to it but for me it seems like a bit of a faff as the benefits are no greater than delayed cord clamping which I intend to to anyway. Culturally speaking, it might mean more to others. Also if you plan on doing anything with your placenta, you can't with a lotus birth as it essentially decomposes.

It's my second but I had a fairly straight forward delivery first time around so I'm hoping this gonna be nice and easy.

Any yay for healthy bubs at scan lollypops :)

thats great i know 2nd babies they are often more likely to offer home births lol

the placenta is great to plant after a lotus birth still can cause any plant life a good start and growth aid, it is personal choice and unsure the hospital will even allow it there are alot of benefits to lotus birth but it depends on how you feel about it, we're studying it just now and will be doing delayed clamping if nothing else....

this wish was not carried out with my son which upset me

If you want to have a lotus birth, even When having a ceaserian, you can absolutley have it. It's not for me but I'm 100% behind birth choices for women and if it's important to you, demand it.

Here's a pretty amazing lotus birth csection story if you're interested https://spirited-mama.com/2012/02/11/opening-eyes/

Oh and I mean you can't eat it, encapsulate it, make a smoothie etc if you have a lotus birth, you could still plant it and make prints etc.

Good news about the scan, lollypops!

Hmm, I think I'll look into the whole placenta thing. Not sure that the lotus birth is for me!

There's a lot to think about, isn't there?

thanks been looking at all the sites i can, althought they can no refuse they can fight not to do it if they don't want to or if the doctor doesn't feel comfortable etc, i understand why people do it and why they don't and after reading so much i feel bad just discarding the placenta as if its nothing because its kept my baby alive and been my baby's company for so long and came from the same cells as my baby so hard to just think of it as waste. i personally couldn't eat it or that but don't judge anyone else who does i am just weaked stomached when it comes to food lol

lol more than likely are you going on any of the birthing classes or anything? could have walked by you and wouldn't have even know lol :p

Hi everyone. Just wondered how you were all doing. I'm still being sick, which is unbelievably sucky.

Has everyone got a date for their 20 week scan? I don't yet. Should I start chasing or wait for my next MW appointment, which is next Monday.

huge hugs your still sick hun mine is mostly gone now but alwayyys tired  i have my 16week scan book but not heard about my 20 week one yet i thought would get it either through the door or at my next hospital appointment which is 5th april guess will ask when i go...,

otherwise i am alright 14weeks 1 day today :D

I'm sure last time I didn't get my appointment through till about a week before and ot was at 21 weeks. I could be wrong though. I've moved and been told there's a letter from NHS at my last addredd come through today so not sure if thats just blood results or 20 week scan date. Will find out when hubby picks it up tonight.

i got my blood results last week got two letters because they had to highlight i was o neg and needed anti-d but specialist told me to ignore that one as anti-d doesn't really work for me so they keeping a closer eye on baby than just simple anti-d also got my full bloods back and all negative which i knew and immune to all illnessess they check which i knew too lol :D

so least we got some good news no sign of 20week scan appointment yet but don't know if they will wait till after my 16 week one incase something happens.

I got my appointment letter the same day I got my blood results...the results were just for HIV and that stuff...never mentioned my blood group or rhesus or anything...but maybe the midwife will tell me at the next appointment? She did say they'd check for that.
My 20 week scan is on the 1st of May, at the Southern General (all my other prenatal care will be at the Western Infirmary...)

I'm also not back to "normal" yet...sickness is a lot better, but I get so tired now...I also get really light-headed when I've been walking too far...or in and out of the heat/cold. Went to the Fort the other day and actually had to sit down on the ground in boots because I thought I was going to pass out...people must have thought I'm mental. :D

they wont tell you about your blood group unless you are a negative one because you will need a anti-d injection so you are likely a positive blood group.

thats good you got your appointment thought i am still waiting but week behind you and got scan soon so got to assume they will just book in person when i go... all my cause is southern.

Thanks everyone. I got my blood test results - the disease screening ones. I think I'm a positive blood group so nothing to worry about there either.

Glasgow Angel, I reckon I'll wait till my MW appointment to chase it up. I guess it'll be short notice. I was wondering what you'd have got Septemberbaby since we're both with the community midwives at the Western but my scan will be at the Princess Royal so they'll do things differently probably.

Glad everyone's doing OK. I can relate to the tiredness!

How are you liking the midwives? I've only seen the one so far, but she was very nice. The sonographer is also really good, we had the same one for both scans, but i forgot her name. My main midwife is cathrine.

I've been really lucky with everything so far, always got my appointments really quick!

i have only seen one i thought she was alright Daniel thought she was an old bat,

i hate my own specialist though

The receptionist booked my 20 week scan there and then after my last scan for my 20 week appt. It's on the 23rd May.

I've got a 12 week scan on Wed, got my results through and appointment for my anti d jab too. The MW that done my booking in appt at Rutherglen was lovely, I've not met my HB midwife yet, meeting her on the 20th April and looking forward to that. I had my first scan at Rutherglen Maternity Centre but my next two are at the PRM :( it was nice not having to wait for hours at Rutherglen but no doubt I'll be waiting in the Princess Royal for a couple of hours for my next scans

I can't believe how much the care seems to vary in Glasgow though. Everything with me this tim has been scarily on the ball which is nothing like I expected first time around.
