GRRRR Tax credits! I GOT THROUGH!

I used 01384 845 032. Nothing was said, although I did have to wait for 28 mins on hold.

I have now phoned 26 bloody times since yesterday only to get 1.32 secs into the call and be told that they are busy and to call back later!

I got that stupid no one is available message then call ended eve single day day since april when my OH left, up til the end of July, when I finally got through after ages on hold.

And now I'm STILL waiting to hear from them about my new single claim since then, while providing for my 3 children on my £62 a week income support!

Suprise suprise, when I call to try and find out whats going on with my claim, no one is available and the call ends!

i'm still waiting for my tax credits 7 months later. Keep having to phone being cut off blah blah then finally getting through only to be told phone back in 2 weeks if it has not been paid in. Grrrr

Yep we are lucky that we aren't desperate for it. They keep assuring me that it will be back dated but I have my doubts

wow 7 months i cant wait that long ive had my milk voucher stopped till tax credits claim gone through so cant even get my milk for free

i havent got my child benifit yet either

so i get my £64 income support for me and little one and all bills didnt get the £500 sure start 1st time round so got to wait till tax credits awarded to claim again, so still got loads to buy

Sounds like you're in the same situation as me we best not hold our breaths, I expect we're just 2 on a long, long list of people waiting

grr i hate phoning tax credits. i have been trying all week. i am worried i have told them a lower annual figure so wanted to ring them so i didnt have to owe them any money and all i do is get through after step 3 the 5 then oh no they are all busy grrr not happy x

I'm going to have a change in circumstance coming up next month. I go back to work for 16 hours a week and my LO is in nursery for 10 hours a week - will I have to go through this faff to tell them!

I was hoping it could be done online!

I tried 4 times yesterday to be rudely cut off.. the woman at the end of the message saying ''goobye'' REALLY TICKS ME OFF!

I wont get another payment if they dont bloody answer cos my old bank account is changing.
Why do they have to be so inefficient!!

What number should I try now to get through?
Its not like tax credits you can change bank details like you can on chil benefit website.. yet its run by the same hmrc.gov.uk

Nope it can't be done online. You can't phone them until you are back at work which I think is stupid as they can't post date any changes.

Use the number that I have quoted on the OP. I eventually got through on that one after 34 attempts on the main number!

I finally managed to get through after ringing several times and then spending half an hour on hold but when they asked me security questions LO had woken up and started screaming and I was all flustered and got the questions wrong!!

I then had to make an appointment with my local office to do an ID check and they could give me the forms there! So my advice is, ring your local HM revenue office for your town, and book an appointment to see someone. They can give you the forms there and youll probably be able to get an appointment for the next day after calling if you wanted After you get through on the phones to the tax credits people, apparently you have to wait a further 2 weeks before youll even get the forms. All VERY long winded.

I got through on the number on the OP, i rang at 7.45pm and was only on hold 7 mins. Result!!

press option 1 to be able to hold! it takes ages but is better than the annoying cow telling you to call back later and having to try every 5 minutes for over a week! aaargh
