:( have i harmed my unborn baby? :(

I wouldn't worry. My brother brought a dessert over the other night and didn't tell me it contained raw egg yolk in it! He told me when I had eaten half a bowl!! I freaked out at first but everything turned out fine

Salmonella has been shown now to affect your baby, it's just really horrible having it. Listeria, on the other hand can affect your baby.

I've had several kebabs so far this pregnancy, which are probably a bit naughty, more for the salad than the meat. The salad has possibly been sitting around for a while and who knows how well it was washed beforehand. As long as the meat (for want of a better term) has been thoroughly re-heated, there shouldn't be a problem. If it were going to make you ill, you'd know about it within hours.

And we all know the dodgy kebabs from our younger days were usually a result of too much alcohol beforehand, and nothing to do with Stavos' food hygiene standards!

Mmmmmm reading this makes me want a doner kebab and mcflurry. Doner kebab is fine. Our weather has been rubbish this summer so i haven't had the urge for a mcflurry until just now reading your posts. I'd of eaten the rest if that doner if I were you :)

I'm sure all is well. I've read where women shouldn't eat deli meat unless they heat it up to steaming, which is just gross. I've eaten deli meat so far and all is fine. If we didn't have all this information around we wouldn't be so afraid of the things we eat. Of course it's better to eat healthier but I really think the limiting certain foods is a bit far..

I think so long as you are getting your deli meat and salads from a reputable place, like a supermarket, you should be fine, as they are pretty well regulated with regards to food safety etc. and the food seems to be kept at the correct temperature, or people, not just preggos, would be getting ill left, right and centre!

Uhh... I've been unable to eat anything most of my pregnancy and lost around a stone, so fancied Kebab twice and ate it! I didn't even realise anything would be wrong with it? :S

I give up with this whole "OH MY GOD DON'T EAT THAT!" stuff... we'd starve to death!!

All this talk of Wispa Mcflurries is really really making one!!!

I've been eating döner at least once a week (I live in Turkey so it's an extremely handy way of getting my protein, which doc says I need more of) since about 6 weeks pregnant -- my baby is healthy! Just don't buy it off the street and make sure it's from a hygienic place where they don't roast the meat near an open window or car exhaust, etc.

Runny yolk eggs are fine if the eggs are shop bought with the red lion mark as it means the chickens were vaccinated (well that's what midwife told me)

OMG... I've been having about 2 mcflurrys a week! How could I not know this?! Midwife never told me this at my first ever early bird meeting! I even recorded everything she said!

I've just been eating what I want, when I want it and i'm fine! I just make sure that I don't eat too much of it in a short amount of time as to avoid any problems.

You can also put individual slices in the freezer and put them on your sandwich while they're still frozen and quickly eat it just as it thaws, listeria dies at 1 or 2 degrees Celsius (don't kmow the exact temp). Probably overkill, but if it makes people feel better...
