Hi everyone - advise needed please
Hi girls. I'm new to this site and still trying to find my way around. Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place. Anyway, here's my story...
My DB and I decided to try for a baby in september 08, we got out bfp in dec 08 but unfortunately had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. We started trying again right away and got another bfp in may 09 - this time was an ectopic pregnancy. We waited for 3 months again before ttc - the hospital advised me to wait. After another few months of trying, we got pregnant again in dec 09 - another miscarriage at 4 weeks.
I can't even begin to describe the agony of all this and the questions that have now filled my head, mostly I am terrified that I'll never be able
to have a baby. My gp won't run tests until I've had 3 miscarriages in a row - apparently an ectopic doesn't count : (

So here we are again, ttc since January. I've been using the cbfm since February, but still nothing.
Any advise or comments welcome. Thanks girls.

Hi Ally, you definitely are posting in the right place. I'm sorry you have to join us, but glad you did. Sounds like you've been through a lot in the past few years. I'm horrified to hear that your doctor doesn't count an ectopic. I'm also dismayed to hear that you have to wait until you've had 3 mc's for them to take you seriously. I don't understand when doctor's tell people this. I'm 35 and have had 2 mc's. Because of my age, they started doing tests immediately after my second one. If I were younger, I wonder if they would have made me wait. They still haven't found anything wrong.

I wish I had some advice for you. I wish I knew something that would prevent having another mc. One thing I would suggest is charting your temps if you aren't already. You may notice that you have a short luteal phase which means you have low progesterone. You need progesterone to maintain a pregnancy. Given how early you lost your beans, maybe that is something that needs to be looked at. If the docs refuse to do a progesterone test on you, temping will be able to show you. Just in case you don't know, the luteal phase is the number of days after you ovulate. Anything under 10 days is considered a luteal phase defect. That might be something easy to address with either extra B6 or progesterone cream. You might also try acupuncture which can help regulate hormones as well. I hope this helps. I know the ladies on this site have a lot of wisdom and I'm sure you'll get a lot of support and advice here.

xoxo

Good luck hun :hugs:, and i'm sorry for your losses, sending lots of sticky baby dust :dust: x

Thanks girls. I'm not charting my temps at the
moment. I had no idea that doing so could give
you so much information. Im using the clearblue fertility monitor at the minute and I was under the impression that charting temps was the same kind of things. But thanks to much for the advise, I will definitely start that next cycle. Also, I had never heard
of the luteal period, so that might be
some kind of explanation.
Please all keep in touch and thanks for making me feel welcome
