trying to stay positive... blah! Anyone on clomid and around CD 6 to join me on this journey?

Im on my 3rd round.... time drags doesn't it? FX for us this month! How you feeling on clomid? what dose are you on?

Definitely drags! :dohh:

50mg for me and this is our final cycle :nope:, we're currently 'unexplained' and I already O on my own, so this was just to give it a bit of a push so to speak. Im quite lucky that the side effects for me aren't too bad, although I do get really bad hot flushes during the night! I wanted to rip my skin off last night.

How about you? What dosage are you taking?

I am on 50mg and also in the unexplained category...I Ovulate on my own too, frustrating when they can't really explain why I'm not getting pregnant.. Although I have had issues in the past, they tell me there isn't a reason for my losses or a reason why I am not pregnant again. I get bad headaches, sore breasts and nausea towards the end of my cycle and really heavy periods. Im gearing myself up for more BD'ing this weekend, although I have to work inbetween... got to try and fit it in somehow! Started charting on FF this month.. not sure if thats adding to my stress or not. Do you chart?

Ah, I haven't met many other ladies who are currently taking clomid for unexplained infertility, usually its to treat underlying issues!

Ergh sounds like you have some crappy cycles! Sorry, and so sorry to hear about your losses. I'm just coming up to the one year anniversary of our loss at the start of September, and nothing since! :dohh:

I did temp last cycle, but i know clomid can mess up your temps, and FF told me I ovulated 3 days after my first +OPK so I stopped because that stressed me out more than anything. I think next cycle once I've finished clomid I'll start temping properly again, because if I'm not stressing about something I think theres something wrong :winkwink:

yeah know what you mean.. I can't help but stress... The whole unexplained thing is stressful on its own.. my cycles are very regular.. 28days bang on.. I'm never late.. always like clockwork... my Dr gave me clomid and basically said.. they may help 'boost' things or they may not... and there is only a 25% chance each cycle that 'fertile' couples will fall pregnant on a given cycle..She said Ive been pregnant three times since I started trying and can't see why it wont happen again.. I'm using a couple of apps that help me track cycles but to be honest im so regular I dont know why I bother sometimes... Just got to have sex every other day through my cycle and more around my fertile time.. after two years of this though.. it gets boring and stressful. Don't really talk to my hubby about it anymore as it stresses him out too (I have two kids from previous relationship and been trying since 2010)..
My sister has just given birth and my best friend id 39 weeks pregnant today... so cant talk to them about my issues! Sorry about your loss too, Mother nature can seem so cruel at times, and it just doesnt seem fair...I see you live fairly close to me too! Thanks for getting in touch, you seem to be going through a really similar thing right now... when are you going to test or are you just gonna try and sit it out?

Oh we are close aren't we, its a small world and all that!

I'm exactly the same! You could set a watch by my period and it would never faultier, in the morning of CD31 every month she arrives without fail! All the tests have come back fine as well so beats me, hubbys SA came back fine so maybe I'm just inhospitable?! :haha: We've been trying since around January 2010 so same time frame too!

I have a period calendar on my blackberry which I update religiously every time we BD so I can keep track, DH always moans that it goes soft cup then app then cuddles

I usually try and sit it out until I know AF is late, but I never do. I have a stash of 100s of ICs and even though they are crap, I still insist on using them! How about you? Maybe you can stop me from reaching for the ICs this month :winkwink:

You sound like me! Although I havent tried soft cups! I reach for my iphone and update it...hubby moans as I lie there with my butt elevated on pillows.. passion killer or what! lol I am so sick of seeing BFN I will try and hold out.. unless I get crazy pregnancy signs.. which is normally the clomid playing tricks on me as I've come to learn!

Oh my god, you gals sound just like me :). Immediately after we BD, dh just hands me a bum pillow and my phone

I'm on CD6 now too cybermum! I'm doing 150 of clomid this month - eww  But I tried something kind of extreme too (cycle 19 or 20 of TTC, unexplained) and did soy iso's before the clomid - hoping it helps, as I've been pretty clomid-resistant thus far. I have the same bulk stash of IC's as StephieB, maybe we can all keep each other sane these next 3 weeks! I'm pretty good now about not testing early because it devastates me so bad, but if this cycle ends up how I'm hoping it does with another triggered IUI it might be hard to hold out!

Hi Rocco :hi:

Yes, pillows and soft cups are not the most romanic of items I had in my bedside armoury!

Clomid is playing massive havoc on my body this month, it's now CD8 and my poor boobs have been killing me since around CD2. They look very pre-AF boobs rather than JUST post AF boobs. Ouch!!

Rocco soy AND clomid, I can only imagine some of the side effects you are having. How are you coping with it?

Stephieb, my boobs have just started hurting! and my ovaries feel like they are growing! CD7 for me today, took my last clomid last night, and went to bed with another headache! Im off work for 2 weeks as it's the school holiday and the time is dragging although I'm working this weekend when we are supposed to be BD'ing! Nice to hear from you ROCCO! I'm gonna try and hold out this month... I haven't even got PG test in the house, so I can't be tempted! My hubby will stop me dashing to the shop about CD11 as he is fed up of seeing BFN too! FX!

Yes, havoc is a good descriptor of wha these meds can do to us! I don't get the sore BB's, but the hot flashes and massive headaches. I bet we all cope similarly: with the hope that it'll work this month and it'll all be worth it!

Do you kind of like it though when you can feel your ovaries working hard on these meds? It makes me feel like something really good is happenin in there :) I just hope that on Monday my scan shows that something good is happening in there!

yeah know what you mean about the ovary pain.. i can cope with it and 'feels' like its working.. although in my area in the UK, they don't routinely monitor follicles via scan.. just the 21 day pregesterone to check for a response. The heavy bleeding and headaches are a nightmare side effect that I do struggle with!Good luck for your scan Rocco! Keep us posted!

I do like it when I can feel something happening! Ovulation during my first round of clomid was awful, it was worse than AF cramps! But I haven't had a pain that bad in my subsequent cycles:shrug:

I don't have any monitoring on it what so ever, which worries me, but FS sent me away and told me to come back in 4 months so god knows whats going on down there!

Fingers crossed for your scan Rocco :flower:

I was given 6 months of clomid and a CD 21 progesterone test which went for 32 to 83, so it is boosting my ovulation, although I already ovulate.. frustrating. I go back in December to see what else they have to say. Can't afford IVF anytime this year though!

Hi ladies

This month marks two years TTC for us. I'm on CD6 today, of my 4th round of clomid this year. I'm taking 100 mg. I took another 3 rounds last year with another doctor, before taking a break while we moved across the country. My 2nd round this year was annovulatory. Pretty much the only symptom I get from clomid is hot flashes, and they were worse on 50 mg than on 100 mg.

I guess I'm a bit different as so far I am unexplained, but I also don't ovulate on my own regularly. So far there's been no explanation for that, as my egg reserve is good and everything is clear for PCOS.

We're in the middle of getting a second referral to a new FS, so it's going to be at least christmas before we get to see a specialist I reckon. So after this cycle were in fertility limbo with no clomid and no appointment, so will have to go back to au natural!

We could never afford IVF, it would have to be a bank loan or a lottery win. Luckily we should get at least one funded cycle on NHS. If it gets that fair, we've researched and want to go down the egg sharing route, but hopefully we won't get to that stage.

I think that the reason I get monitored with scans is because I always plan to do IUi's, so they have to know when my follicles are ready. And I think my first cycle on clomid and each time they increase the dose they require scans to make sure you're not getting over-stimulated. My doc said she doesn't want to end up being on tv as the doctor of an octomom :)

I'm with you gals - I certainly can't afford IVF yet, so I'm willing to try anything in the meanwhile. Let's all go in on some lottery tickets!!
