Hygiene

I bath/shower daily, sometimes its every other day as it depends what mood I am in/what I am doing.

xxx

If I'm not in the bath of an evening I'm watching TV, which is bad too right?

On the subject of reusable nappies, I'm purchasing my first ones tonight :yipee:
We are starting ours on thursday :happydance:
But I know what you mean Eala...When I told people I was swapping to re-useables they questioned me saying that the extra water I will use and all the washing powder will be worse  but I dont think it is. Someone told me that if Henry VIII had used 'disposables' on his children then they would still be in the ground now

I shower every morning when I get up. Can't imagine not showering when I've been hot all night. Sometimes (when i've been Lush lol) I'll bath at night as well to relax.
O.H has a shower 5 mornings a week when he has work
I tend to do washing every day and use the dishwasher daily

I don't water the garden cos I can't be arsed lol

xx

Yes all the calculations show that reusables are better for the environment as well as saving us money. We wash every other day and it doesn't use much detergent. Before I chose them and we used biodegradable ones I felt awful having these great big bags of rubbish as we don't produce much in our house and recycle most things (everything that can be). Byron was 2 months before we got the reusables. I use the biodegradable ones when we are camping and still feel guilty!

I was one of those people that always gave the "using more water agrument" when ppl tried to convince me to use cloth  I bought my first one last week and am trying to find a bundle now

i wash my hair every other day, shower everyday and make sure that i use the right water levels when i wash my clothes.

now that the weather is getting cooler i won't need to wash my clothes after every single wear since i won't be sweaty. i will only have to wash my tank tops, undies and bras after each wear.

I shower every other day but I do wash every day lol. I only wash my hair every 2-3 days. I could never wash it everyday, it takes ages as it is sooo long and thick, My hair is used to this now and does not get greasy after 1 day.

My lil ones have a 5min shower every night and they bath together every other day (alternate with the shower)

I wash clothes as and when needed. I put dirty clothes in the wash pile so not worn until clean but I only do one load of washing a day. I refuse to do more. I am trying to be more eco friendly as I think its scary the changes we will be seeing :( small changes really do matter.

If I'm not going anywhere and haven't been doing anything intense I will only shower every other day (but I will change clothes daily). I don't see the point in wasting water on just sitting around the house.
Also, I take relatively short showers (maybe 15 minutes long). I don't see the shower as a place to relax-it's to get clean.

15 minutes in the shower???? What you doing in there??? ;) Please don't tell me you are shaving etc as I would have to die of jealousy. My pits get a going over but my legs are obscene!

I shower like every 3 - 4 days. My skin and hair just gets way too dried out. Helena has a bath probably 5 out 7 days of the week.

I just don't have time to shower either. Takes me 10 years for my hair to dry and I can't go out unless I straighten it.

I shower daily.. before bed.. then do all my styling in the morning or during Elyse's nap the next day lmao. Elyse has a bath daily.. sometimes 2, depends on how messy she gets.. laundry, I don't really know how much I do per week.. I never seem to finish it :dohh:

Days later ur still making me

A bit O/T but as we're talking about saving the planet n all, does anybody switch all their switches in the house off? Currently at the in laws whilst our house goes through and my God, FIL has got a thing about switches. I wouldn't mind but it drives me mad when he switches off the mains of the kettle even tho I have to use it 100 times a day. I switch it on, walk away, come bk 5 mins later and then wonder why it's not boiled. Oh, FIL flicked the wall switch to off AGAIN ](*,)

Haha The longest part is conditioning my hair which takes about 5 minutes. If I didn't have to wait I'd be out sooner. I hate wasting water lol
And I can usually shave pretty quick if I keep up with it but I've gotten so sick of shaving because of how fast it's been growing since I got pregnant.

Yeah my OH is like that. He switches the TV off by the switch, the sky box, everything. He goes mad with me if I leave a switch on, we can't even set the clock on the microwave because he insists it must be switched off so it keeps resetting itself!

Lol We never used standby on the TV but our games consoles and stuff don't have a real power off. We got a free multi-plug extension that you can turn off with the standby on your remote so the things that don't need to stay on are connected to that but the sky box and the DVD recorder don't get turned off so we can still record things ok. We also have a power adaptor for the computer which the printer and monitor go into and everything turns off together. We always turned off the monitor and things anyway but this is easier in case we ever forget. But stuff like kettles I wouldn't bother with, unless there a light or a clock on or whatever it's not going to be using electricity if it's not switched on.

I am a sod for switching things off at the wall,I go mental at hubby if he leaves things on..the only things I leave plugged in are the fridge and the TV..

I've got this odd fear that something will catch fire,a friend once left her toaster plugged in,but off....and her kitchen caught fire...I think it stems from that

xx

my DH has a thing about leaving the tv on, ALL THE TIME even when we arent at home. i dont know why. he insists it dont waste electricity. ho hum.

I had an past mobile phone charging overnight in the sitting room and we heard a bang in the night. Couldn't see what it was. In the morning I found the charger had exploded across the room. Thank god it didn't catch fire! We turn stuff off at the wall if we are going away.

you girls have convinced me to turn stuff off. i never do, not even switches i never use.
but of course the tv will stay on. or something dreadfull will happen apparently :D
Off with the switches when i go home today.
