but does this sound like my mucous plug?

I went to the toilet about 10 mins ago, did mmy business haha and wiped. Looked down at the toilet paper (I'm neurotic and I always have to check) and there was some stringy yellowish stuff. It's hard to describe really. It doesn't sound like what i've heard before but the best way I could describe it is yellowish mucous. I also had a few spots of bright red blood (not in the gunk) but couldn't work out wether it was coming from inside me or if i've cut myself somehow.

It's hard to say and I am only basing it on what happened to me last time. Before I lost my plug I was wiping pinky/browny bits of gunk on the tissue. Then I started to notice pinky/browny bits floating in the water and this lasted for a few days then quite a large bit of the same colour was floating in the water after peeing. I don't think yours sounds like your plug it could just be excess discharge filled with white cells which is pretty common.
