is/was your LO a really bad sleeper? support and advise thread!

gemma - i know what you mean about feeling broody. i'm sleep deprived, depressed, totally overwhelmed and still broody!:dohh:
oh - and happy 8 month to alex!

claire - i noticed our LOs are a day apart? hang on a minute, were you really overdue too?

Yes Kosh, I think I remember from the pregnancy forum that you went overdue too? weren't you induced?
I had Lucy at 42 weeks was induced at 40+13.
Seems so long ago now and I'm with you girls on the feeling broody thing even though it's so tough having a LO!
I do want another before or just after I turn 40 (I turn 39 in Jan ) crumbs, that seems like it's coming around way too quick for my liking!!! lol
Do you think you will have another Kosh?
:flower:

Ooooh, could be possible then ladies?
I drive,so can go anywhere really.
Perhaps we should all visit MrsHedgehog in Italy for some "proper" coffee or vino LOL!!:winkwink:

Haha! Great idea! I could do with some mummy company around here. None of my friends have kids and it sucks being far away from family and friends back home. The wine and coffee are good though :haha: Maybe you could have a meet up at Stansted airport and hop on a Ryanair flight to Perugia. I'll have some strong coffee and a few bottles of wine waiting!

Count me in!!!!:haha:

I am jealous every time I read under MrsHedgehogs avvie that she lives in Italy!

It's really not as great as it sounds. It's a beautiful country and the weather is good but it's too hot in summer, there's loads of mosquitoes, I have a typical Italian overbearing mother-in-law and there are no such things as health visitors or mother and baby groups and there are no baby changing rooms anywhere! I'm always trying to convince DH that we should move back to Scotland. We probably will in the future but he doesn't want to leave his current job at the moment.

I had Lucy at 42 weeks was induced at 41+13.

yep, I was induced too. LO was born 42+2!
there was a competition at some point re. who was the 'most pregnant' lady in BnB and I won!:haha:
flippity was also overdue at that time

I was going to say, you better get to it now if you want another one before 40! lol

i'd love another one. problem is i'm 41 so i really don't have too long...:nope:

Don't tempt us lol :haha:

Evening all :hi:

Flippity :hugs::hugs: I sympathise. I'm thinking we'll have to do the same as LO is now totally out of his routine after being ill, but I've got a cold today and don't have the energy (excuses, excuses). We'll maybe start tomorrow. I'm dreading it but if it works as well as last time it'll be worth it in the end. Hang in there :flower:

Mrs Hedgehog - even with the mosquitos it still sounds great compared to dull, dull Kent :winkwink:

Kosh - I spend my whole time trying to find baby groups/classes that don't clash with his naps/eating time. It's practically impossible so often I just go anyway but it's hit and miss whether this makes things better or worse i find. Sometimes he'll tire himself out and sleep better, sometimes he'll get crazily overstimulated and be a nightmare  I figure I need to relinquish a bit of control over this at some point soon as when I go back to work I won't be there to oversee it all anyway, but it's really hard.

Gemma - I'm totally up for a meet-up. I'm in Kent but literally just outside of London so easy for me to get into town. I can definitely try to put you off having another baby as I am SO not broody...I do want at least one more but can't even consider it until I've had at least one stretch of 8hrs sleep in a row :haha:

Claireyb - hope your LO stays asleep and gives you a decent night.

Chocolala - hope you're ok

I'm off to bed now with Lemsip (such a wild existence :haha:). Good luck for tonight everyone :flower:

sorry girls i have to rant, i've just seen another one of those 'my 1month old baby still wakes up every 3 hours' threads :growlmad:

Anyone got any suggestions on location? Cafe, restaurant, soft play? Any preferences or ideas?

:wacko::dohh:
I have days when Alex has been a good boy and I feel like an imposter on this thread when some of you have had MUCH worse nights than ours. But he is also capable of being a little devil most of the time
I know ultimately that we belong on this thread :haha:

Do you reckon if we meet all our babies are going to have one massive overtired meltdown?!

I think we should meet in a pub and all get drunk to be honest? No? Oh OK.

I think a cafe or restaurant would be nice.

Lisa where in Kent do you live?

Awwww kosh see if you can persuade your OH to have a get away in London lol
Or see if you can pick up a cheap train or megabus ticket? How far is Newcastle from london?? I did go years ago for a hen but I was A bit worse for wear on the journeys

They probably will but I guess if we are in a pub and chilled after a vino we won't mind as much :haha:
Cafe or restaurant prob best :haha::winkwink:

Hi ladies, I haven't been around for a week because I had a friend staying with me. Hope everyone is sleeping soundly right now!

I'm feeling frustrated because mine are sleeping SO POORLY. I'm sick of them being up every hour. I nurse them back to sleep and often my nipples feel like they're being sanded off and it makes me feel really mad.
Then they seem to be sleeping but wake back up the second I lower them back into their crib.

Thought I might update you guys with the bit of sleep training I did. It only took a couple nights and now I am able to put the girls down for bed awake and they go to sleep just fine. However they cannot self settle in the night. They wake up, stand up in bed and start screaming, so I run to get them to avoid the other twin from getting startled awake.

Some nights I spend the WHOLE night with my nipple in someone's mouth. That is annoying too, because although I do enjoy snuggling with my babies, I can't get comfortable and my sleep is interrupted by sore hips in between baby cries... ho hum

Oh yes, I remember now! thankfully my pregnancy was really easy so going overdue wasn't sooo bad.
I was thinking I would have to start TTC in about Jan time, that used to seem ages away, but is getting a little to close for comfort right now:wacko:

sorry girls i have to rant, i've just seen another one of those 'my 1month old baby still wakes up every 3 hours' threads :growlmad:

Gosh, how I dream of only 3 wakes up now at 8 months!!!
1 month??? uggghh....really?:growlmad:

no preference really, just somewhere that won't shoot us dirty looks bringing in loads of babies!! lol
:flower:

:hi: ellebelle! Good to hear from you but not so good to hear that your babies aren't sleeping well still. I know exactly what you mean about the nipples and feeling annoyed. My night was very much like that last night...so frustrating :hugs:

Sorry to hear there are more bad nights and setbacks for people :hugs:

Have these babies not cottoned on to the fact that we want a woohoo thread instead?!

:happydance: to a possible meet up!! I'm very happy to go for a central location so that as many people as possible can make it. Middle to end-ish of October is good for me :flower:

Kosh, I'll be up near Newcastle around xmas or new year time if you're around and fancy meeting for a coffee? OH is obsessed with the Crown Posada in town so wouldn't take much persuading for him to meet a friend there for a couple of beers while I disappear for :coffee:

There seem to be a lot of 42 week babies on this thread - I wonder if that's just a coincidence or not?!

We had another rubbish night last night. Yesterday, naps were excellent - an hour in the morning and TWO HOURS for the second one! Bedtime was also really good and I was soooo hopeful that would add up to a good night. Nope, wrong again. There is zero pattern to the nights and totally unpredictable. WHY child will you not sleep???
