Itty Bitty Babies Club (Slow Gainers)

He does look older to me too! Just so darn cute sitting at that table too!

Hey everyone sorry been awol...James is now off the charts :( he is 14lb 8oz at 11 months old! Help! Finally being listened to about his sickness...its taken long enough...5 months almost! Went to see the kidney specialist today and he was understanding about James not tolerating the tube so we have upped his calories and see where we go if he still isnt gaining he will have to have a peg fitted...he has also got to have a barium swallow and if his reflux is really bad they will operate to tighten the valve and at the same time do the peg! nervous about the surgery thou :( xx

so lo is 1 next week and just about 14lbs - there is no way she is going on cows milk - I will have to have her on growing up milk for a while at least until she is eating a more balanced diet. Going to try and get her onto a beaker and off the bottles at least

Seeing paed about her enlarged kidney in a few weeks so will speak to him about her weight then and see what he says

lilbumpblue - I'm glad to hear that they are finally starting to listen. I think it's horrible that it's taken them so long. FX'd for the surgery and that it turns out well.

Mrs Doddy - Good luck with the pead. I considered keeping Gabriel on formula for a while after he turned one, but decided against it. Nothing wrong with making sure they get some extra calories and vitamins.

lilbumpblue- hope things start to look up and get better from here on out... it's so hard when doctors don't listen!

Mrs doddy- I had K on formula up until 19 months old as she wasn't eating enough IMO. No harm in an extra boost for sure!

thats good to know im not the only one still on formula - beaker didn't go down well.

Harrison is still on formula too. He wont drink cows milk, he sips it then dribbles it out :dohh:

So im gunna have it for a while longer then find a way for him to drink cows milk. No idea how tho!

Doc appt today.... vaccines...
I don't wanna goooooooo!
At least I will know what she weighs and how tall she is! I know she is taller by quite a bit.

21.5 lbs and 31 inches tall. Not too bad! She is around the 10th percentile... her curve is even so they aren't worried of course, but the nurse explained to me about continuing to use formula and how it isn't going to do any harm etc...

That's great! My doctor says the same thing for Gabriel about following his curve.

hello all. Hope i can join u?

Glad i found this thread! I have 3 children who started off small and 2 have stayed small lol.
My 1st weighed 6lb 2 at birth and gained weight very slowly, shes 6 now and the smallest in her class.
My 2nd was 5lb 12 at birth but by 6wks old he weighed over 11lb!

My newest baby weighed 6lb 9 at birth, she went down to around 6lb a week later and now at 6wks old shes 7lb 14.
There isnt any medical reasons why they r teeny, its just how they were made i guess. In the past i've had health visitors asking me if im feeding my babies properly, regular weigh ins and had to write down everything my DD ate so they could try and get a better idea of what was going on. They admitted defeat in the end as she was healthy alert and meeting her milestones when expected.

So thats me lol, im expecting to go through it all again with my baby daughter but this time i know what to expect and hopefully will worry less xxx

hiya! wow, i'd totally forgotten about this group!!!!

How the heck is everyone? how are all your LOs doing?!

Hey, I'm still checking in now and then! Evie is now 8 months and still wearing her 3-6 months clothes bless her! We're gradually starting the move to 6-9 month clothes so at least she's getting her wear out of them heehee!

After her last weigh in she had started to climb up the percentiles and I think she's managed to get up to around the 25th now which is great as she was in danger of falling right off the chart at one point. Weaning has been a fantastic turning point for us and although she's still ickle, like so many others on here she's alert and bright and happy so I'm not going to worry about her size.

Hope everyone else's babies are putting on weight and moving in the right direction.
