January Hopefuls...What's next for us???

Lots of activity today ladies. :)

Ashley, I'm not sure if I see anything or not, but I have to say, I'm not a fan of the blue dye tests anyway. I've seen way too many evaps on those things to ever trust one. If I were you, I'd run out and get a FRER, or any pink dye test. I've never seen an evap on those in the entire thirteen months I've been TTC, even after looking at it a day later, so I trust them way more! FXd for you!! Can't wait to hear about the FRER!!!

beaglemom, between the Peaks on your monitor, the baking soda, the preseed, the fertilitea, and everything else, I'd say you've got a GREAT chance this cycle. Especially since Cheri22 predicted January. :) Can't wait for you to test!

allison, so happy to see you jump on the thread! :flower: So, out of curiosity, is the prog cream something that you rub on your skin, like a lotion? Do you rub it into your belly? Does the body just soak it up into the bloodstream? I'm asking because I wouldn't mind trying it myself after what just happened. I had my prog checked by my dr a few weeks ago right after I O'd, and they said it was within the normal range for having just O'd, but I'm thinking about doing a later test (the Day21 test, once I get to a normal cycle) to make sure its where it needs to be. In the meantime though, I kinda want to try a prog cream.

sarah, Yes call me Erin, I'm totally fine with that! :) Ok, so I've been waiting for my dr to call all day about the HSG, but before they even called back, the radiology place called and said their machine is down and they're not sure if it will be back up tomorrow. So I guess I'm just going to look at this as a sign, and once I hear from my dr, I will reschedule. As far as the hostile CM, that's basically just what they refer to any CM that sperm can't survive in very well. The thicker, creamy CM. It's obviously not impossible to get prego with it, but they consider it a hostile environment for sperm because they can't swim well or survive in it nearly as easily. My first 2 cycles on clomid, I had creamy CM right at O time, I was SO annoyed. In my 3rd cycle, i used the Robitussin, and had NO creamy CM at all. It was clearer, and had a tiny bit of stretch. That's the cycle I got pregnant. :) Btw, I love that your DH can do IUI for you, how cool!!

FBG, I totally agree with the others about what we read on these forums... you have to think about the fact that every single person on here is TTC, so when 100% of the population of people you talk to each day is trying to get prego, you're going to hear a higher percentage of bad news than you would in real life. After reading the bad stories, you can't help but get it in your mind. But try to remember, those stats are totally skewed when you know as many TTC'ers as we do! You are golden, I'm sure of it!

So girls, since we're on the subject of Cheri's predictions, she did say January for me as well... When I got pregnant in Dec, I thought hmm, well I guess she was wrong. But hey, who knows... maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones and O quickly, and get prego again right away. :winkwink: That's what I'm hoping for. Positive vibes all around.

Oh, and in response to beaglemom's comment about DH's SA.... My DH said they gave him nothing! ha! He said it was exactly like going in and giving a urine sample! It was a regular bathroom, with one of those turny things in there that you sit the cup on when you're done, and spin it around for them. I was surprised!

I don't mean to be a downer but I wouldn't do that if I were you... I bought my first onesie years ago and it was so painful to look at everyday, every month, I ended up just giving it to my goddaughter when she was born...

It's so tempting and we all wanna be prego so bad.. but we need to watch for our emotions too...

I hear what you are saying & everyone has to do what is best for them. For me...I have been at this for so long, I just have to start doing what makes me happy today. And today, after an annoying co-worker all day & basically free money with the gift card, and me just ovulating...the shopping trip is what I needed today. Just like the psychics. It could be a total load of BS, but it didn't cost much & it makes me feel good. I know when I come home & show my husband my shopping stuff it will put a smile on both our faces.

Years ago when this all started I had collected a lot of stuff. And after we decided to stop, I gave some to my pregnant friend & the rest to good will. Didn't really bum me out that much.

I think it is great to buy a few things along the way, maybe not enough to complete a nursery...but I think it is a positive experience to buy a few outfits or toys. I have a couple packs of diapers, bottles and outfits stocked in a drawer of our guest room (soon to be a nursery!).

For those who are against it...think of it as the new smaller pair of jeans some women buy when they are trying to lose weight...it is like a motivation thing for some! As long as you want to buy baby things, I say go for it!

Have fun shopping!

Hey everyone! Thanks for your comments!
So I called my RE office today to ask about insurance and come to find out I have to pay them $350 from my HSG test before they will see me for my next appointment. So the money we thought was going for IUI this month will go to that. So IUI this month is probably not going to happen:( so frustrating!! I am still taking my femara and pregnitude so guess we will try ourselves this month. I am going to try the baking soda douche with water to see if it works. I am so scared to do it....I have never done one before. And I don't want to tell or ask DH about it because he'll think I am nuts lol

Yea, beaglemom, I think you've been on this journey long enough that you pretty much know yourself and how it will or won't affect you emotionally. If you've already given stuff away once and it wasn't too much of a bummer, then you already know how you'd react in the situation again. Besides, they say if we want something, we should really imagine having it, picture yourself already with it, feel what it would feel like to be living it. The power of the universe. Sending positive vibes out and being as optimistic as you can, and really living the scenario you want... and the universe will answer just the way you want. :)

You sound super positive and happy this month, and the things you're doing are going to bring you what you want. :flower:

Not too much to it. I had to buy douche kits with the solution because I couldn't find empty ones. People say you can buy a baking soda douche but I couldn't find one. So I empties their solution out & rinsed it really well with hot tap water. Then I got a bottle of purified water & zapped it in the microwave for about 1 -2 minutes...just enough to be really warm. Mixed it with about 2 teaspoons of baking soda. The warm water helps it dissolve. Then I let it sit for about 30 minutes to cool enough to use. I did it in the shower. I posted earlier, I did have a tad of bleeding but not enough to concern me & it quickly stopped.

So trying to take opks at work is really awkward. Finally was able to sneak another test & it was negative. So I am saying 1 dpo today & still getting a baby making session in tonight. I am really going to need some luck this cycle!

Ugh, so sorry! I'm sure you were looking forward to the IUI! I know if I had one scheduled, I'd be so ready to go. Sorry to hear that. Well, I think you still have a GREAT chance with the Femara and pregnitute, and since you're trying the BSD (new abbreviation for BnB forums, lol!), maybe that will give you even more of a chance! Keep us posted!

I've never douched either... but if I come to the conclusion that I need to try the BSD to get prego again, you better believe I'll be all over it. :winkwink:

Did you say you BD last night, but not the night before? My days are all mixing together. I think you're good to go. I dont even think you need that much luck since that fertilitea seemed to have you super ramped up this cycle, LOL! It just sounds to me like you were probably really fertile. All the EWCM, the Peaks on the monitor, your libido, etc. I've got a good feeling about January, lady! :happydance:

Yes...got a high on the 31st...but that was the same day as the analysis & my first high, so we skipped it...peak on the 1st & BD that night...Got another peak today but no doubl line on the test strip & my opks are negative. So I am thinking last night was ovulation. I was really ready to go ever since AF was over...but we were abstaining for the analysis. UGH! Frustrates me. But can't change it, just have to go with it.

Thanks for the support.

It would be an awesome cycle to get pregnant. I have always wanted to get pregnant & be able to pin point the day it happened. When you are TTC, you just do it so much who knows when the egg was caught.

ERosePW I am so bummed! I am been going over our budget and we could do it still but it would be leaving very little money in our account. And we already spent out flex money on football tickets. We didn't know at the time we would have to pay an extra $350.
Beaglemom I did see your post and have done some research on it and I am just gong to do it! I know I have hostile cm so this should help. When I called the RE I asked about my ph and the nurse said that he did not check that. But he told me in the appointment that he saw very few sperm and my cm is very thick. I would think that the not seeing any sperm would be ph. I am also going to take robitussin to thin it out. I am still going for my ultrasound to see how many follicles I have and ask for his predicted ovulation day. I am also going to do opks but I have never gotten a + EVER on opks. Don't know what's up with that either.

As far as opks go, some women just can't use them. The box always says one per day. But I have learned in the past months that really 2 a day is better. One mid morning & one mis afternoon. You could have a surge & miss it otherwise.

I was doing them at around 8pm but I guess I will start doing them at noon instead to see if I get a +. The directions said either at noon or 8. Well 8 is not working so I will try noon. I have long cycles so I will start on CD13 after my ultrasound with RE. I think I will BD on CD15 CD17. Each time do the baking soda douche too.

misaacs117, I am sorry to hear about the high payment and possible cancellation of IUI. Not sure of the cost of IUI, but would it be possible to cut out other spending this month? I am a super saver queen and I start to think about things I can cut out to save money, like the morning coffee run, the candy bar from the vending machine and the grocery store impulse purchases. I have gone a few weeks at a time eating out of our panty and freezer and only having to pick up milk, fruits and veggies at the store saving us a ton of money. I don't mean to pry into your financial situation but simply offering an idea to think about before cancelling your IUI.

As far as the opks - I read between 2-4 are the best times for them. Also testing twice per day incase the surge doesn't last 24 hours. I did not use opk's this time but I am going to use the clearblue opks next cycle at 2pm and use a cheap wondfo later in the day and if I got a positive I would confirm it with the clearblue opks.

Wishing you luck and sending baby dust your way.

I have to test twice a day in order to make sure I don't miss my surge!

We are going to be cancelling a lot of things this month and eating in a lot more. I am canceling gym membership, hulu, redbox (husbands a movie buff), and my retirement. Can't believe I'm doing that but I am. I am also thinking about some of my cable channels. I also have textbooks up on amazon for sale but who knows when those will sell. Have been thinking about selling other stuff like clothes for some cash. I have a ton of clothes that don't fit anymore and could sell. I am a hoarder with clothes lol. Then an Xbox Kinect I never use with two dance games I could sell. Trying to think of anything I could get rid of.

misaacs, hope you can still make this month's IUI happen.

I would def recommend the fertility monitor to anyone who can fit it in their budget. Once you buy the monitor, the test strips are about $40 for 30. Which when you think about the long run & how much you spend on opks, I think it is almost a wash. Plus you only test once a day when the monitor asks you to. It measures estrogen & lh...so typically you have about 6 days of fertile time that it gives you. Except this month was kind of a fluke for me so I am double checking with opks. Also my hormones could be off from being on the clomid. But I have used it since about July & it has worked well. I find it less stressful too.

Which monitor do you have? I have a digital one but can't find any replacement strips. Its by clearblue.

I have the clear blue. You can find the strips on amazon. But the better price I have found is walmart.com for $39.99. I think if you search some of the drug store sites you can find it...rite aid, walgreens, cvs.

As hard as it seems it is definitely worth it, get rid of the things you don't need! Everything you sell is just more money in the bank and keep your eyes on the prize...a bfp!

I am on a special strict diet (low FODMAP) and cannot go out to eat since I basically prepare all of my own food. You can still have "date" night without going out. I prepare dinner for us and we watch a movie in bed while eating dinner - it isn't going out but it just seems better not eating at the kitchen table sometimes!

I am also a hoarder with clothes...I need to clear out my closets too!

-- I also take surveys online for a little extra cash. I figure if I am online while we are watching a movie I might as well make some money!
