January IUI Support

Welcome Rusaurora! Looks like you had a good cycle last month and you responded well to the meds. I felt the same about our first IUI, but tried not to get my hopes up. Still a disappointment. How are you going this cycle? Did you have your IUI yet?

Im sure i will find the tww dreadful.. I dont find the first bad because i go day to day just looking forward to getting each needle out of the way lol.. But when i dont have that in the tww i think ill drive myself nuts always wanting to poas.
I go for my next monitoring on sunday.. And i have a feeling they will tell me to trigger sunday night.. So iui tuesday.. But we will see

I've already started poas and I only had IUI today. I line them all up to watch the line go lighter and then hopefully darker. I know it's not good but I can't stop myself. I do an evening one too!

I'm the completely opposite. I hate testing:)

Im not feeling hopeful anymore. I went back for monitoring today.. Im cd10. I only have two follies in the running and they are 13mm and 18mm... They only grew 2-4mm since last time when they should have grown 6-9. I hope they up my meds and wait a few days before triggering me.

Feeling so bummed out

Sorry Mississippi. My temp dropped today way too low. :( not feeling very optimistic either

Hi ladies. I'm learning so much on this thread. I had my first RE appointment about IUI today.

I should get AF tomorrow and then start on Clomid on the 18th. And I know I take it for 5 days and then have another ultrasound. I'm not really clear on the whole timeline. It's all so confusing. And my insurance doesn't cover my Ovidrel shot which is a nice $190 down the drain. I wonder what else they won't cover.

I also am a major POASer. So I commiserate with those of you that are too. My doc told me not to test because they trigger you with hcg so you can get a false positive on any hpt's. I usually start testing at like 3DPO. I really don't know how to survive the TWW without majorly obsessing. This is going to be really hard.

Any tips or advice from you more experienced IUIers?

Oh, and I forgot to ask. I had a vaginal ultrasound today at my RE appt. I totally forgot to ask him if I were pregnant would he be able to see it this early? I mean, I saw my whole insides and everything looked pretty clear but I'm only 11DPO. I heard it takes a while for a PG to show up on an ultrasound.

Just wondering.

You and I are doing the same protocol! This is what I do. CD 2-4 I have blood work and ultrasound. They look for antral follicles on ultrasound and test e2, BHCG, and FSH. I take clomid days 5-9. Come in for ultrasound to check follicles CD 10-11 and test e2 and LH. Repeat blood work and ultrasound two days later, trigger that night usually, and IUI two days later.

Have you tested this cycle? I don't think they can see anything on ultrasound at 11 dpo but don't quite me:)

Good luck!!!! Let me know if you have any more questions. I decided to do monitoring, medication, and IUI. Some people do one, two, or all three.

Appointment went great. I really liked all the nurses and doctor, I was about to have a nervous breakdown because we were running late cuz my OH barber took forever then traffic sucked. Dr said all looks pretty good except he said I had only like 9 follicle creating cells (?) (Don't quote me on that term) and he likes to see 12-15. So I call in on cd1 which should be Sunday, baseline ultrasound on cd3 he's going to start 100 mg of clomid on cd3 and another US on cd12. I told him that's when I normally ovulate but he said clomid should push that back. Sooo here goes nothing*

Almost forgot, some women use ICs to test out the trigger so that would give you your fix:)

Good luck! You and I sound very similar. I tend to ovulate CD 12 without meds as well.

I'm just waiting to test or get AF. I'm 8dpo so not much going on right now. Not a basket case yet, but give it time and I'll be all sorts of crazy...lol. Seems to happen as I get closer to testing day!

Hi ladies! I'm going to be doing first iui this cycle after ttc 2 years with 5 mc. I am to start pred 2 x daily from first day of period. Clomid day 5-9. Sono day 11-13. Then hcg shot. Then iui. Start lovenox day of Iui. And rhen labs weekly for 3 weeks and us week 5. All the while taking prenatal a folic acid.

I have a question I have had some spotting today and the nurse at the recurrent miscarriage specialist office said to count this is day one of my cycle is that what you guys do without you why do you wait for your first full blown cycle day

Thank you so much for all that info. It kinda helps clear some of the timeline up!

I have tested. I'm a major POAS addict. I test like everyday. But I feel like AF is on her way.

I'm basically doing medication and IUI and I guess I'm doing the monitoring too since I'll have all those ultrasound appts. If that's what you mean by monitoring. Oh, and of course OPK's and BDing before and after the IUI. My DF feels like it's "sex on demand" but I made the point that he got to jerk off in a cup while I have tubes, dyes and catheters shoved up inside me. So he can suck up some on demand sex.

I'm just kinda anxious to start the meds already. I just want this process started already. Can you tell I'm impatient?

Hi ladies. Good morning. I just wanted to post on here because I woke up feeling really anxious and nervous this morning. I'm supposed to get AF today. I kinda feels like she's coming (don't get me wrong, I'd love to miss her). And it's making this whole process of starting Clomid and then doing the IUI more real for me. Which is making me oddly nervous.

Anyone else feel that way? If so, how did you cope?

Thanks Jennifer. It's nice to know someone else is going through the same thing. AF didn't show up today for me either, but I got BFN's and I have AF like cramps so maybe tomorrow. I agree, I just want to get this show on the road. Even though this road scares the hell out of me.

To all you ladies who are prescribed ovidrel. There is a program called compassionate care that assist with the cost. For me it will cover 75% of the cost.
