I heard on the news at teatime that the Macanns want answers and want the governments help in getting these.

Correct me if i am wrong but they want the British taxpayers to pay for an enquiry for something that happened in another country and for the want of a better wording their own fault??

They left their children with no adult while they ate, they are educated people and their own stupidity cost them one of their children.

People do stupid things all the time. Our government should absolutely step up and try to find out what happened to Madeliene, whatever the cost.

It's not about money, it's about a little girl who has been missing for 4 years, and the authorities have given up on her.

Im sorry but when most of the general public believe that the macanns are involved in maddies dissapearence it is about OUR money!! who knows what they are spending all this money on, well apart from their mortgage.

im sorry but there are 100's of thousands of genuine children missing in the world and they dont get such a high profile search do they?

the mcannans have only been able to do so much by begging the public for more money.

there does have to come a time when you can look no more.

gerry and/or kate know exactly what happened and one day it will leak out.

I expect they are spending alot of money on private detectives ect..... as we would all do if our child was missing, and desperately wanted to find her.

Private detectives that specialise in fraud and money laundering, not missing children...

Only if they are willing to spend the same money on every single missing child in this country, because otherwise it seems unfair, and like they are saying that it is more important to find Maddie than any other.

Have you read all the evidence released after this case was closed? Or are you just sticking up for them as parents of a missing child?

alot of the money went on their mortgage FACT..and private detectives yes. so if they are all for their daughter being found why did they refuse to answer most questions fired at them...im sorry but if that was my child i would tell them EVERYTHING...why hide details that could help find your child?

ermmmm the madeliene fund?? that was ment to go on looking for her but sadly alot of it didnt.

well of course i wouldnt stop looking if my child was missing but for 1 I would PERSONALLY search high and low for my child...the macanns didnt? hmmm pretty weird if you ask me!!!! and rather than spending all my time writing books and running around talking to the pope ect: I would physically be out there searching!!!!

not to mention i would NEVER EVER put my children in any sort of danger by leaving them in the first place just so I can eat and be merry and have fun with my friends......its disgusting to say the least!!!

Then why not start looking for all the other missing children across the UK and the world, she is 1 of thousands who are missing, why should her parents get special treatment when it was ther own fault??

I had some horrible dream lastnight..
It really creaped me out..

Gerry was digging a hole, in somemud + madeline was their, cant remember much of it but it really freaked me out, ive stopped clicking on links..

What if they sold her to somebody? Kates 'They've taken her' comment.. maybe they was getting threats ect? who knows.. im home alone now + i feel so scared, ive even got Grace asleep on the sofa next to me, im not leaving her side tonight!

Its been suggested elsewhere in the thread, there is no evidance of an abduction, no DNA of somebody else their, somebody was ither planning itcarefully to no leave any fingerprints, or maybe she was drugged, but the 'they've taken her' comment seems to haunt me .. whos taken her? why would kate just say that? if my child was gone out of bed bearing in mind i would never leave her, but lets say i did i wouldnt run around saying 'they've taken her' id be shouting ' shes not in bed, i cant find her quick' id be running around like a headless chicken trying to find my child not just writing up some timeline.. something very dodgy, so they could of had threats! you never know, maybe truths will come out now the case might get re opened

If my child was missing + my family set up a special fund, id want to use every penny on trying to find my child, i wouldnt care about my morgage, i'd happily go + move in with a family member, finding my child would be most important to me..

WHY arnt they physically looking for her themselves?
WHY when several sightings of a girl of the description of maddie, they wasnt intrested in flying over themselves hoping to see their little girl . i think any parent that lost a child + a sighting had been reported would fly over asap!

they are just 2 examples in how dodgy this all is, their is just way to much stuff summing up now!

I would like to say that I am not terribly keen on the McCanns but I am far from convinced that they are part of some huge conspiracy. Being 'cold' people and not parenting how I would does not make them guilty as far as I am concerned. People are reading a lot into how they appear on screen but it is worth remembering that not everyone reacts the same way or demonstrate the same emotions. Also, the McCanns are not daft. I am sure that they realised that they were suspects for the Portuguese police very quickly and chose not to answer the questions for that reason.

A lot of the speculation around this case is very similar to that that surrounded the death of Jon Benet Ramsay. The public had tried and convicted the parents who insisted that they were innocent. It was many years later that they were exonerated due to DNA evidence. Worth keeping in mind.
