Labor Watch Thread

39+4 appointment today - 70% effaced, 2cm dilated, -2 station. She said baby was posterior, but I have my doubts as he's been in the same spot for weeks and everyone has said the bum has been straight up in the air.

Anyone else really sore between the legs?? Today it hurt to just get out of bed!

Congrats eleanor!!!!

Fx to everyone else getting even the slightest of symptoms!

Oh and ive been saying all along i think ill have this baby on sept 27th which would put me at 39 weeks!

BUT i also just found out that its a full moon, harvest moon, and lunar eclipse that day! And apparently many women go into labour on a full moon! So hopefully everyone gets this full moon dust this weekend lol. Ohhh but for some of you in different time zones it might fall sept 28

Yay Eleanor!!! Congrats to you! Sounds like you had an easy enough labor. Home already!? Awesome!

Lionheart- yes I have been sore for awhile now between the legs. It hurts to roll over in bed and to get out of bed. Other than that it doesn't really bother me to much.

Afm- had my specialist appointment today and bpp and nst went well then had my ob appointment as well and she scheduled my section for October 5th so there is an end in sight. I sure wish that end would come a lot sooner. My mil thinks either the 25th or 29th and swears by the moon changing. My good friend thinks next weds. Guess we shall see. She did the gbs swab but that's about it. She didn't check me ot anything.

Ooh I didn't know about the full moon, just in time it might save me from induction lol.

My MW told me that they're always slammed at the birthing centre and on L&D when there's a full moon!

I'm in pre-labour, I've got the period cramps and back ache Right NOW! 😖

I'm sore there too. And in my pelvis from baby burrowing and headbutting my cervix. It's really painful.

I hope it turns into something for you!

The ladies at my job are doing a baby pool and one of them guess the 28th specifically because of the full moon. That would be amazing! :happydance::haha:

I'm not sure if I mentioned but the other day I thought I could be losing my plug but its very runny today, tmi alert!!!! I have had 4 bowels movements in the last 12 hours (very uncommon for me atm) and the last time I had a lot of discharge but nothing like yesterday which was stringy, long and clear like. Today its the same colour but really runny, like I can feel it trickling when I'm having a bm. I suppose its just me straining a little bit?

(Sorry if any of you have read this but I appear to be part of 3 'labour threads' and so I've just copied and pasted it)

I didn't know about the full moon, I have hope yet! I'm due the 30th & have my first sweep booked then too, I will take anything to get a natural birth if I can. Anymore signs anyone? These babies are far too content. My guess is I will be induced and have her on the 8th October. Started pumping and for the first time ever some clear droplets was produced, could this be a sign??

I wouldnt say thats your plug.. You get a lot of discharge close to labour.. And some is quite slippery but plug should be like chunks nd globs of snot like.. Not liquidy

Yup, I thought the same. Oh well!

Got a mw app tomorrow, will probably be offered a sweep and book induction for the following week :( so wanted to avoid this but I suppose there's still time next week

Thanks :) I've never had a successful sweep so not sure what to expect tbh. Mw attempted it last pregnancy but it wasn't possible

I think I need to stalk this thread so that I know what to expect when it's my turn. It's my first and I really have no idea what's supposed to happen exactly before labour starts. I don't really have any strong BH contractions, but I do have tightening at times...

I'm still here. Been in prodromal labour ALL FREAKING DAY! 😢

Saw the midwife and left feeling optimistic, baby is low and kind of in the right position, tightenings and cramps still happening, tiny bit of blood when I wiped this morning. She rang my MLU to arrange reflexology and book an induction in a week. They rang me back and the woman I spoke to has made me feel like crap. Why haven't I had sweeps yet, why am I not booked for induction Monday, you don't know what you're doing why hasn't your midwife done this and that :( told me to come in for a sweep later and a 'chat' she was so miserable and negative it's really got to me. Why should I be induced Monday??! I thought it was 42 weeks.. People don't realise how much they can affect someone's feeling when you're already nervous :( my OH will not like it if they start bullying us into things, it'll cause a horrible atmosphere. Kind of dreading going in later. Plus I promised my son we'd take him out for dinner and things later as he's been a complete star and now I feel guilty his plans are being messed with. Waaahhhhh :nope:
