So I dont think Im close to labour quite yet but wondering if anyone has any experience like this.
With my previous births Ive never experienced contractions at all until I was in active labour.
Last night I was tossing and turning from 3-5am because I could swear I was having contractions. Hard belly and super achy like bad period cramps in lower abdomen and low back. Is it normal to have something like this happen BEFORE labour? Does it mean labour is soon, or could it go on for weeks? Im hoping it was just a one off because it was quite uncomfortable!!

39 weeks in the morning so I'm officially on labour watch.
Reiko, where abouts are you in the world? They don't do sweeps here (at least at my nhs trust) until 41weeks with second+ babies.
I definitely had a lot of twinges and discomfort yesterday that I thought might progress but then nothing. Saw a midwife as well at my BP check and she said his head is still free anyway so that was a bit disappointing. She did however say that second+ babies can drop in to place just before starts, whereas first babies tend to engage a bit before.

My 2nd didn't engage until active labour.
I had gone for a nonstress test (long story) and was having contractions about 5 minutes apart and 3cm dilated. Dr checked me and said he "swam away from her fingers"
Haha!
