living with kids with allergies group

That does sound a bit complicated!
I would think thoug with how she reacted with eating some bread to try without wheat for a while and hopefully the dr will get back to you as to why!

Alex is allergic to white fish aswell :dohh: We knew about cod as the skin prick showed that, but wasnt sure if it applied to all white fish. It does..

Yes I will just stay clear of wheat for now!

Oh dear. All white fish?? How frustrating. I tried her with some egg and she seemed fine apart from 1 red mark on her leg which could be something completely unrelated. However a friend of mine was saying to me that it wouldnt show if she was allergic as she was on steroids at the time!! How silly of me!! :dohh:

My english course is going fine, maths im ok with some things but others im struggling, im sure ill get there eventually. Im doing an OU course aswell and had the first assesment mark back the OH and i didnt do very well so im disappointed with myself. Connors been ok today although hes been coughing alot so think he may have a chest infection. Does anyone else find there LO gets ill alot?

What ou course you doing? I've done a few with them found it hard to get my head down and study though. You will get there with English and Maths.
Adi has been ill alot this winter one thing after another thing to look out for when they have allergy's already incase is they get asthma.
AG and Buttonnose- I get my prition from doctor but have brought it from chemist before as well and don't know if you know you can buy the cream in it as well.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend x

i didnt know it came in a cream! What does it do? Help itching skin?

Arlo's ezcema has been bad again for the past two weeks. So frustrating seeing as it had almost completely cleared up apart from a few dry patches when I cut out dairy, soy, etc. All creams I try on him seem to make it worse. Dermatologists tell me I should be moisturising him 3 times a day and it's just a matter of finding the right cream, but it's hard to experiment when I know it's got to get a lot worse before it can get better.

Although I don't plan to introduce any food until 6 months or later, I'm starting to get quite aprehensive about weaning. I'm going to pester my GP for a referal to a dietician/allergy specialist as I really would like some advice on introducing foods and a diet plan for him rather than just fumble my way through weaning and probably cause him more problems as a result.

I can't get him to stop scratching his cheeks. He has so many grazes and scratch marks on his face at the moment. I put some hydrocortisone on his cheeks to help calm the ezcema as it wasn't getting a chance to heal with all his scratching. It got better for a few days but is back to red, cracked and sore today.

Though we had a handle on things by changing my diet but I don't know any more.

Does anyone else get asked all the time whether LO is teething? We get this with Arlo a lot because of his constant red cheeks and clawing at his face.

Forgot to add, he doesn't seem to have the gastrointestinal symptoms that he had previously so my guess is that it's a topical reaction rather than to something I've eaten. Who knows though.

Yep we get asked that, and also told maybe he will grow out of it when hes done teething :dohh:

I feel for you Khloeee, thats the cycle we had almost constantly for months and months. Alex is better for now but i dont know how long it will last for.

Could well be, i think part the problem is as you say the skin will always get worse before it gets better. Even the person who created the stuff were using again said that aswell.

How long would you use a cream/treatment for before deciding it wasn't helping? Maybe I've been too quick to dismiss creams. I usually stop using them at the first sign of his skin flaring up but wondering whether I should be giving it a week or longer in case it's just his skin 'getting used' to the cream.

I would continue using it though a flare up and then see if theres any improvment, probably a week after a flare would be long enough to see.
I would say aswell dont dismiss steroid creams aswell, i hate using them but we are slowly getting to a point where we can use them less and less

I brought it by chance last year from chemist as suffer really bad in summer with itchy skin lloyds do it https://www.lloydspharmacy.com/weba...Id=1008&storeId=90&productId=327331&langId=-1

Hope this helps

Should note though it says it cant be used on children under 6 years

eek i forgot about this thread :dohh:

Max has a really really sore pimply bum, hes pretty much suffered with nappy rash for months, creams seem to tone it down then itl flare up. Can food allergies be shown in this way?

Its been so bad these last few days :nope: the only different thing hes had is strawberries. Could this be a reaction?

Hes always pretty whiney so i can never tell! I have a feeling he has other allergies i havent noticed/paid attention too :nope: see, the only signs i look out for are the ones he had with his milk allergy and because he has no diorhea (sp?) i just assume he's fine, suppose i shouldnt been naive!

am i over reacting?

Reactions can come out in the skin aswell as gatro issues.
What to look for with a skin reaction is a flushed look, suddenly red and can be hot to the touch. Also look out for itching.

Ive got a leaflet with reaction signs, gimme a few and ill go look for it :)

Are you still using cloth? Alex suffered with rashes for months on end aswell, we found it was the night time nappies that made him worse so for a while we had to do cloth for daytime and sposies for night.
Gradually he's gotten better and can tollerate cloth for 5/6 days out of 7.

Arcanegirl that was really useful!! I've been trying to understand why Katerina's cheeks are sooo red sometimes like the last few days, I keep touching them to see if they feel harsh as they look that way. I can not believe there were so many symptoms I completely ignored!!!!

Hope you are well! xxx

my poor boy :(

Last night he was up for 2 hours crying (he would only sleep on me as soon as I put him down he cried & cried)

This morning he is already on outfit number 3 of the day, he is having the WORST poop's ever, basically a nappy full of slime :( his tummy issues & poop had been getting better but I accidently ate something on saturday night that had dairy in ...... do you think it could be that missing with him again?

I'm sorry your little one is not well :( I think yes it could mess him up if you had some dairy accidentally. Katerina had some wheat on Sunday and she didn't sleep for 2 nights, and got really bright red cheeks (which I didn't even realise they were part of the reaction until Arcanegirl mentioned it last night!)

It is so difficult to see them suffer like that, I hope he feels better soon! :hugs:

OK this is katerina with her super flashed cheeks! I am not sure how visible it is in the picture. She's had cauliflower for the last couple of days and she's had really bad nights since. Could this be causing it? I thought veggies where fine?

Any advice? xx
