Magnetic Memo Board ?

I am moving house next month and I am at university so I need something to pin up important notes and stuff. I am wanting a magnetic board so I can stick thing up with magnets.
Thing is I want to make my room really nice and I have a sort of floral/1950's style idea (kinda shabby chic) so I don't just want a silver metal board, it wouldn't really fit.
So I had the idea to get a metal board and then cover if with some nice paper and then I am going to make some buttons into magnets.
My question is, where can I find a plain metal magnetic board and also what sort of glue would I need to cover it ? Also do you think the magnets would still be strong enough to stick ? Thanks in advance !

You can get magnetic paint so you can just paint yourself one but I dont know how strong they are
