May Munchkins 2019

Congratulations OliviaNicole!
-------------------------------------------------

I am crossing my fingers for you, keepinitreal!!!
I hope she was at least a bit sheepish. :haha: I feel like they really put the pressure on themselves when they make those claims. It's like asking for it not to happen just so it can be awkward. Here's to hoping that sweep gets your baby in your arms soon. <3
---------------------------------------------------

I am sooooo relieved, BellaRosa! Thank you so much. They said I have to call in the morning 2 hours in advance to make sure a bed is open and then it's all clear skies. I have always been induced in the past and I have never had them tell me there wasn't space, so I am staying positive. I also experienced prodromal labor for the first two, so I am not particularly surprised. With my first two babies though, they made me wait a week, so I am absolutely over the moon.

I hope she comes out quickly! With my previous inductions, I was 1 1/2 cm dilated, but I am at 4cm dilated with her. I would love for her birthday to be tomorrow particularly because it would be all odd numbers and I have a silly obsession with them. :haha: When they said that was the earliest date we could book I was pleasantly pleased. Though, Sunday or Monday (today) would have been preferable for comfort. :haha:

Try to take it easy if you can! I cannot imagine doing half of that right now!

My mother is taking the kids tonight so I will be figuring out all of the last minute things. Moving around too much makes my contractions hurt really bad though so it will probably be more of me shouting directions at my husband. :haha:

Sweet - Yay! So funny, I'm partial to the 7th also..... in my situation because my anniversay is August 7th, my son was born March 7th, and my daughter was born May 7th. My husband says this baby is coming June 7th because we have to have another 7th. That would put me at 5 days late!!! No way! Sad to break the trend though, because I doubt baby is coming today! Unlike YOURS! So exciting!!!! Keep us posted, I'm so happy for you! And LOL @ shouting orders at your husband!! Can't wait to see pics & hear news from you! <3 <3 <3

A quick update - in the 48h since the sweep I didn’t feel much happening except for the horrible SPD pain.

Had another check-up today and she was... quite surprised :D to find I’m 6cm and the baby is... well, really ready to show up, finally.

Back home now, I just washed my hair,
we need to eat something and then it’s off to L&D. Hope the babe is born tonight :) Will update when I can!

Good luck Keepin! I hope you get to meet your little one really soon.

Keepin - AWESOME! Yay, can't wait for another update from you!!! Best of luck & can't wait to see pics!!!

Sweet - Also waiting to hear from you! Assuming we'll have a lovely announcement soon!! <3

AFM, I'm in pretty bad pain today, I'm assuming SPD related. My pelvic bone, in the front, feels like it's splitting open. I have pains running down both the insides and outsides of my legs, and I can barely walk. I have my 36 week appointment today (at 36 + 4) and I'll find out how dilation is going, etc. I'm wondering what I'll be told... unfortunately, I have a TON to do before the appointment. I took half a day because my daughter is having mother's day tea at her classroom and I signed up to be a "mystery reader" before that AND help her class with math centers.... IDK how I'm going to get through it - hopefully there will be a spot for me to sit down for a while because this pain is real!

Boooo my second sweep did bugger all, hurt as well but she said that’s because my cervix has shortened a little more. I’m now a week overdue and totally fed up. Fed up of all the “Oo you still not had her yet?”

I was offered another sweep but declined as it was more painful but I might txt my midwife and see if I can get another as I’m sick of waiting around now. I’m going to be induced on Tuesday if she doesn’t come before but I’m too impatient to wait lmao!!

Hope everyone else is well and congrats on your little boy Olivia x

Well... he’s here. A healthy, beautiful 7.15 oz (3,6kg) baby boy named Niko - it’s an ‘old fashioned’ but not too rare boys name here in Slovenia and was chosen by his big brother.

The labor was not what I hoped for. I was counting on contractions that would be brought on by breaking of waters, but for some reason they weren’t able to break my waters at all. They started the pitocin and I went from 6cm to 10cm in 45 min on g&a. Problem was that baby didn’t drop, so I needed to bear him down, slowly - not pushing - for an entire hour without any pain relief - obviously too late for epi and they did’t want to give me opioids since they weren’t sure how long this phase will last for. You can imagine that at 10cm and with extreme urge to push, that was horrible.

Anyway, once he dropped I had him out in three pushes. I was just glad it was over To top off the entirely unpleasant experience, the placenta was torn so they had to put me under for 30 min to do the scraping of the uterus. Luckily I’m going home without any stitches! The entire labour lasted about 2,5h.

But the end reward is well worth it - our 2nd born is an absolute charmer, doesn’t cry much and nurses like a champ.

That’s it for me ladies - who’s next!?

Keepin- congrats on your little man he is absolutely adorable!!

AFM- today i have this horrible antsy and restless full body feeling that I just cant shake. Im 37 weeks today and so ready to just be done. I worked my last day on tuesday as I was primarily on my feet all day and the pelvic was getting so bad I could barley walk. I have so much id like to do around the house but the pelvic pain is getting in my way. I still try and do what i can just take lots of breaks.

Awww Keepitreal, Niko’s beautiful!! Sorry you had a tough time in labour. But at least he’s here safe and sound and no stitches for you! Bonus!

Afm: I’ve got my 3rd sweep booked for tomorrow so fingers crossed it makes my girly come over the weekend [-o<

Congratulations keepin. Niko is gorgeous! Sounds like you had a tough time but as you said, all worth it in the end.

Linz - aww hope babe comes soon for you!! <3

Keepin- congrats!!! He’s gorgeous! And yay you for no stitches! I’m sorry labor didn’t go the way you wanted but it looks like your end result was wonderful! So happy for you!

Jlmeans- with you on the pelvic pain for sure! Yesterday was a really tough day. Today has been better, but I’ve been off my feet a lot.

I’ve had some painful contractions today.... probably false labor... also very wet down there (sorry, TMI) but that’s how it started with my son... my water was leaking. So I’m lying down at the moment trying to see if my water might be leaking.... if anything comes of it all, I’ll keep you ladies posted. OH & I had my midwife appt yesterday - I’m 3 cm dilated & 80% effaced.

Bella- when are you due? I have noticed a small change but not a lot. Today however I noticed I may have lost some of my plug. Here's to hoping baby's are coming soon!!! My doctor hasn't checked me yet hoping maybe Monday she will as I am pretty sure I was having some strong contractions this morning but didnt progress so probably false labor for me too.

Jlmeans - I’ve lost bits of my mucous plug today too... I’m due June 2nd - I’m 36+6. My son was born at 37+4 though, so this isn’t out of the realm of possibility for me

I don’t think my water is leaking.... but for a while there, every time I wiped I was getting bits of mucous plug. And every time I’m in my feet & sitting upright, I’m getting contractions. I’ve had to lay down to make them go away... which tells me it’s false labor for now but it’s frustrating to not be up and around. When I was at work today, I was going to get a group of first graders at the end of the day & had to go back to my room & sit because I was in such pain from a few contractions in a row...

My oldest i was induced 2 weeks early and my youngest ended up being 3 days late...so now is just the waiting to see what little man decides to do. By ultrasound im 38-4 but by period im 37-2.

How is everyone??

I’ve been having tons of (somewhat painful) contractions still, but very irregular. Honestly makes me nervous to go to work tomorrow... anyone else??

To add, (sorry for the TMI but) I also had a huge glob of mucous when I wiped before bed. Reminded me of my bloody show with my other two (which happened within an hour of actually giving birth in the hospital) but there was no blood in it. Not sure if this is it (soon) or if I’ll be stuck in this pre-labor phase for a while...

I’m fed up!! Lol. 41 weeks and 5 days now.. little miss just doesn’t want to come out. 3rd sweep did nothing at all so I’m in tomorrow to get induced... hopefully.. If they have a bed for me.. got to ring up at 8am to see. Then organise childcare for my other 3 lol! All fun and games!

Hope your all well ladies xx

Linz - Best of luck to you tomorrow!!! Hope they have a bed open for you and that everything goes well! Can't wait to see pics! <3 <3 <3

Bella- im in the same boat. Friday twice when i wiped there was what I am assuming was part of my mucous plug with no blood. Having mild contractions but its not going anywhere. This morning I had an even bigger blob fall out but again no blood. My doctor did check me today and I am 3 cm dilated but she said that doesn't mean anything. Im just scared because I didnt really go into strong contraction mode until my water broke with my 2nd and then my daughter was born like 20 minutes later. Im paranoid I won't make it to the hospital in time.

Linz- sorry you have gone so late but thankfully you have an end it sight. Cant wait to see picture and wishing you an easy labor!

jlmeans - I've lost bits of my plug here and there, but last night & in the middle of the night I lost HUGE globs of mucous.... I can only compare it to the bloody show I had AT the hospital with both my kids RIGHT before they were born (except without the blood). I had a really fast labor with my son also. My midwife suggested putting towels, plastic garbage bags, and a blanket in the car, just in case. She said if baby is born in the car, do not cut the umbilical cord, keep baby on your chest - skin to skin - and to wrap a blanket around baby & myself and call an ambulance to come get us. She also said by me preparing for a car birth with the towels, blanket, and trash bags, that I will NOT have a car birth :haha:

Linz, good luck! Just a little longer and you get to hug your baby!

Bella, jlmeans - I don’t have any advice so I can only say I hope it goes to plan! I lost my plug about two weeks before giving birth and I still needed to be induced to it doesn’t speak volumes I suppose? Anyway, here’s hoping for hospital, not car births.

AFM, we’ve been home for a couple of days now after the obligatory 48 stay at the hospital. I’m expecting a midwife visit tomorrow (they are provided by the state and great for post-partum - these ladies check both the mom and the baby and they really know their stuff!) and I suspect baby N is a little jaundiced. But other then that, my milk came in, which never really happened with my first born. I’m in awe of what my body can do
