May Munchkins 2019

EEEEK flou, he's adorable!!! Congratulations!!! Hope you both get to go home super soon! <3 <3 <3

jlmeans, Best of luck keeping that BP down. At least they're monitoring you and making sure you're cared for. Hoping baby will stay in a bit longer for you <3

Hoping - hope you're feeling better soon <3

AFM, 34 + 4. Still feeling NOT READY to have this baby, but my body says otherwise. We'll see

The doctors at the hospital allowed me to come home. Most of my bps were good but occasionally they kept spiking. But the doc thinks the stress of being in hospital and away from my other Son is not helping. So she discharged me but I have daily visits from the community midwife. But so glad to be home and getting Henry settled in. And I have taken my bp at home with my own cuff and its already lower than what it was in hospital. Yay! Hopefully I will be able to come off the meds soon.

Flou - Yay! Glad you and Henry are home and that you seem to be doing well :flower: So exciting! Keep us posted <3

He is beautiful, flou! I am glad that you are home and recovering! :hugs:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope that everyone else is as well as can be!

There isn't much going on over here. I have been having a lot of irregular contractions that are definitely not braxton hicks, but nothing substantial. I will be 38 weeks on Sunday, but I have to wait until Thursday for my sweep as that was the closest appointment for the doctor I want.

At my appointment this past Tuesday, she said I am 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. Its a little exciting because I have never had this much progress this early. I am trying not to get too hopeful though, because sweeps haven't worked for me with previous pregnancies. The dilation gives me hope though because I have been told that the more dilated you are, the better chances you have.

I have started taking EPO in hopes of encouraging my cervix to soften further and make me even more favorable. I guess we will see if it has done anything come Thursday :haha:

Sweet - Eeeek! 38 weeks! So close! I'm 35 + 2 now & don't see how I'll make it too much farther, but we'll see. Hopefully I get at least a couple more weeks out of this because I still need to pack my hospital bag and get things ready for this baby at home! At least now my daughter's birthday party has passed (last Sunday).... that's a load of stress off my back. Her actual birthday is May 7th, so we'll still have to do a little something for her on her actual day, but the party is the stressful part. I'm glad I decided to do that a bit early this year! Now this week is stressful because we have school pictures and dance pictures... and my daughter has two nights of dance classes on top of dance pictures that I take her to.... and my DH has some big project at work so he can't help at all. I thankfully have my mom coming to take my son tomorrow during dance picture time, because it is CHAOTIC at the studio getting the girls changed, and doing hair & makeup in a small space. I can't imagine my 3 year old running around on top of it.... stresses me out just thinking about it! I'll feel better once Wednesday is over with... then I just have to think about teacher appreciation day gifts from my kids, getting my daughter's birthday gift wrapped and a small cake for her on her actual day, and then the million doctor appointments that I have to attend and/or attempt to reschedule because they keep making them during my work time, which I can't do.

Ugh, word vomit. Hopefully you all can make sense of that :haha:

Awwwwe :hugs: I totally get it BellaRosa! You definitely have a lot to do in the coming weeks! I sympathize with you big time. I am a bit lucky right now because there is nothing too big going on. Jasmine's birthday and party has passed and Tyler's was in February so they are all taken care of.

Tyler has a few school events, but other than that, clear skies are sailing through.

However, one of my best guy friends keeps teasing me that his wife is going to go into labor before me. She is a week behind me exactly, 1 cm dilated, no contractions and it is her first baby- no complications. I know it's just because I am tired and grumpy, but I want to tell him to go suck a big toe. D:< I will legitimately be pretty furious- well, jealous really. I am a good friend though, so I congratulated him and I was a big girl. It was tough to resist being a debby downer though, because those stats do not really mean anything :haha: It probably doesn't help that his wife and I are not super fond of each other. We have had an odd rivalry for forever and honestly, most of our friend group was pretty bummed when they got together.

They're happy though, so it is what it is.

I need to find a moment to take a chill pill :haha: Ranting and losing my mind over here.

Congratulations to both Blue and Flou!!! Big congrats!! I’m soooo jealous.

Sorry I’ve been mia. I keep forgetting to check this page out!

Hope everyone’s getting on ok?

My due date tomorrow and no sign or anything so I’m guessing I’ll be getting induced as this ones too comfy in there! Just wish I didn’t have to wait two more weeks before they’ll induce!

My bags ready, the car seats ready.. I’m ready!! Come on baby!

Sweet - UGH I hear you!!! I can be pretty competitive too :haha: It's your turn darn it! I have to admit I was  at "suck a big toe" :haha: Thanks for commiserating!

Linz - Eeeeek! So close for you! Glad you're ready! I'm far from it  Even our baby car seat is still in the attic! I need to get it out and clean it! 35 + 3 here, though, so not quite as close as you!

AFM - In the middle of my crazy day. Got through daycare pics this morning, at work as we speak, and have to run home to do my daughter's hair & get her to dance pics tonight. Thank goodness my mom is coming over to help with my son & bringing us dinner because dance pics are going to take up my whole evening! <3

I hope everyone is well and I am looking forward to more impending births. The end of pregnancy always seem to drag but you will all be there soon ladies!

Me and Henry have offically been signed off from the midwives. Henry has surpassed his birth weight, however, I'm not surprised as he's feeding every 3 hours and taking on nearly double the mount of either expressed milk or formula! My blood pressure is slowly returning to normal. When I haven't had any medication for awhile its still a little high but with medication its back to how it was pre pregnancy so its getting better. Just hoping in the next few weeks I can come off the pills!

Awwww, yay Flou! Glad everything is going well for you and Henry! Hope you can wean off the meds soon <3

Flou, that’s great news! Hopefully you can get of the meds soon!

Good luck to everyone else still waiting for their little ones. It’s so funny that we’re all due in the same month and also so ‘far apart’ in preparations if that makes any sense.

Personally, I’ve been told 10 days ago I’ll go in labor ‘any day now’ and ‘there’s no way I’ll have to wait till due date’. Well, my due date is TODAY and the baby is still safely tucked under my ribs. I’ve been in latent labor for the past week or so, lost my plug about two weeks ago and the entire thing is infuriating. We also had some holidays over here in the past week so my son went to the seaside with his grandparents - to enjoy himself and also for me to be able to relax and give birth without worrying about him. Well - he’s coming home tomorrow to an empty cot and a very angry, swollen, impatient mom.

Sorry for the rant, I just have to get it off my chest. I really hoped to go a bit earlier this time around, I’m so uncomfortable and everything hurts. DH doesn’t get it at all and my best friends haven’t had babies yet so while supportive, they’re pretty useless as far as that goes.

Ugh, Keepin, that is def infuriating!!! Really too bad that your son wasn't still away when you went into labor. It's going to be tough to corral him while you're laboring. I hope you get to meet your LO soon! <3

Had a sweep yesterday (first time ever for me) and it wasn’t too bad! Read loads of horror stories so was going in feeling really worried and it’s no worse than a smear! If nothing.. less uncomfortable than a smear... anyhoo she said my cervix is still long and I’ll probably need another sweep to get me going. Boohoo!

However late last night Braxton Hicks started and they were really really uncomfortable as on the verge on being painful so I went to bed.. didn’t sleep well at all.. and now I’m feeling like things could happen sooner. I’m getting twinges etc.. so fingers crossed!

Keepin- sorry it hasnt happened for you yet. I can completely relate to being uncomfortable. I actually started sleeping on our couch so I dont have to do our steps and get in and out of our bed (its a tall bed). Hopefully things get moving soon for you! I still potentially have 3-4 weeks to go and keep hearing I won't make it that far. Im hopeful but not getting my hopes up.

Linz- hoping things get moving for you now that you had your sweep. I think with my 2nd I went into labor 2 days after my sweep. I too have been having pretty intense Braxton hicks for loke a week or 2 now but not progressing to anything stronger than intense cramps.

Monday I start my weekly appointments. I am have been having stress tests done weekly too because my blood pressure being all over the place. Since cutting my hours back at work I have noticed a little bit of a difference. Pretty sure I have pgp with this pregnancy which is extreme pelvic pain. Doctor knows about it and at this point my options are to do physical therapy or wait it out for baby, i chose to wait it out unless it gets really bad. Im to the point every step I take sends shooting pain through my body but Im dealing with it. I have Group B test on monday and hoping maybe she checks to see if I started dilating at all yet. When did your doctors start checking you?

Oh ladies, I feel for you all! It is so tough to be so close and yet so far!

I got my sweep on Thursday and I kid you not, I have been having contractions 3-4 minutes apart since Thursday night!!!!! Losing my mind. I have gone to L&D twice and the problem is that the contractions, despite being strong and coming up on the monitor perfectly, are not effecting my cervix. They said that she is back to back with me so her head is not pressing against my cervix well. I am stuck at a 4. Last night, my doctor said either to come back if my water breaks, I feel like I have dilated, or if it is officially Sunday.

Legally, they can't pop my water to progress me until I am exactly 39 weeks along. Before I was sent home last night, I was told that if it had been literally 21 hours from then that they could have intervened. I get that it's a legal thing, but I haven't been sleeping and it's definitely labor because it hasn't gone away. It is just progressing ridiculously slow. It just sucked so bad to hear that they acknowledge my pain, agree that it's labor, but a simple 21 hours meant that they couldn't touch me.

You can bet your sweet bottom that I am calling my doctor tonight at midnight if my labor hasn't progressed to confirm that they will intervene if I come in.

As an update, they did check me and they have decided that we will be proceeding with an induction on Tuesday. Wasn't the plan, but I am cool with it. They gave me Ambien to sleep until Tuesday and it worked like a charm last night so I am happy. It is also easing my anxiety to know that I won't be stuck in prodromal for weeks.

Sorry I have been totally MIA from this group for my entire pregnancy.

Hudson Cooper arrived on May 3 weighing 7lb 11oz. A brother for Brody and Dylan. We are totally in love!

Hi ladies,

jlmeans my doctor doesn’t do vaginal checks until 38w unless something is off. After that, they usually check every week for progression.

xsweet - how exciting! only a day to go until you meet your little one!

linz - I hope things progressed after your sweep. My doctor is quite aggressive when doing them so I’m glad it was manageable!

Olivia congrats - you’ll be utterly spoiled by all the men in your family, I’m sure ❤️

AFM, I’m 2 days overdue and so.over.it. We got our older boy back yesterday after he was on vacation for a week with his grandparents and I forgot how much he wears me out - I had cx until about 2 am again and then they tapered off. Another CTG and check today - with the doctor who promised me I’ll deliver before EDD so that should be a fun reunion. Definitely asking for a sweep, I hope she agrees...

Quick update - managed to get my sweep, she was a bit ashamed to see me in her office, I think It hurt like a MoFo, but I really hope it gets things on the way.

Linz - Good to know! I've never had a sweep. Sounds like it may be working for you! FX!!! <3

JLmeans - Ugh I hear you on the pelvic pain... I'm pretty sure I have SPD (which sounds like what you were speaking of) because even the things they say to do to alleviate SPD are exactly what my midwife has been telling me to do. I start feeling like my body is going to break in half, from the waist down. Add in sciatica, and I'm turning into a mess! So difficult too, when we're clearly nesting at this point! I'm trying to do all the things & my body just can't keep up! Hang in there hun, & know you're not alone <3 Oh, & I'm having an internal (check for dilation, Group B, etc.) on Thursday. I'll be 36 + 4.

Sweet - OMG you poor thing! Glad they scheduled you for induction! EEeek! Tuesday is my daughter's birthday :o) Great day to have a baby!!!! <3 <3 <3 Excited for you! & glad that you got some sleep too!

Olivia - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! <3 <3 <3

Keepin - UGH, hang in there hun. Can't imagine going late, you must be SO impatient!!! <3 Glad you got your sweep.. hope it moves things along!!!

AFM, just trying to get stuff together... finally got on top of the everyday stuff (laundry, groceries, cooking, etc.) and tried to move on to the baby stuff... got a little bit done, but felt like I was breaking, feet were so swollen, etc. so I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted & was in tears over it.... back to work again this week and feel like now I'm going to get behind on the everyday stuff again. Endless cycle. Can't even get my darn hospital bag packed  I swear, I'm going to end up in hospital with NOTHING done. Trying to hang in there... Hope everyone else is well :flower:
