I am in the USA. Vaginal births are actually the goal here. C-sections come up only if medically necessary. It does seem though that if you have had a C-section once they tend to assume you will be having a c-section again with any subsequent pregnancies. I haven't had a c-section though so I could be wrong on that. I know you can request to try vaginal after the first c-section if you want and push for it with your OB.

MS- I went to a birthing center with my first to check it out. It seemed like a really nice idea but they wanted like 5-7,000 upfront and then if you ended up wanting pain meds or had any complications you go to hospital and they charge you also. Since it was my first and I didn't know what Labor was like I ended up just going to the hospital route. In my case I was glad I did because I had back labor that started off painful from the start at 5:30 AM and didn't have my daughter until 2:30 AM the next day. I ended up getting an epidural (Which is something I was originally against) and I loved it lol. Everyone is different though and you have to make the best decision for you. With my son I also went to the hospital and probably will for this baby as well though I love the idea of a home birth.

Yeah as I said most of my sources are tv programmes so wasn’t 100% sure on the accuracy

We are very lucky in the UK in that our healthcare is free. You can pay for private healthcare but it’s not expected that you pay to give birth

Yeah Rainbow I totally get it! On TV it has to be dramatic and awesome right? Haha! You wouldn't want my boring 20 hour labor on there. Haha.

That is awesome. We need to get our insurance crap fixed over here to something like that. It is a mess but I do like that I get a 7week scan

I am glad to see that everyone is doing well! My first appointment is coming up on Tuesday. I don't think there will be a scan but I hope they will schedule one soon after. It will be pretty anticlimactic if I just pee in a cup and get sent on my way

My husband has decided that he has to organize the entire house in preparation for our third baby. He is acting like a madman. I told him it is way too early for nesting.

That’s it exactly! I like bringing home baby and the baby diary’s and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a vaginal birth

To be fair though you guys seem to get a lot more attention during pregnancy. We don’t get OBGYN’s or consultants unless it’s a high risk pregnancy or an IVF/multiple pregnancy!

Even our first appointment is just a chat with the midwife. We don’t get sent for hcg levels. With my first 2 pregnancies I didn’t even get my urine dipped to confirm I was pregnant i had to wait until my 12 week scan!

I hope your first appointment goes well hopefully it’ll be a bit more exciting than having to Pee and being sent on your way

Aww bless him I think it’s lovely he’s so organised. Can totally see why it might be a bit frustrating when the wait for baby is long enough without looking at everything being ready.

Had my first appointment on Friday, everything went really well also because of my loss in June I’m getting a early scan so will get to see my little bean in a few days really nervous but also excited x

It has been awhile for me since my last pregnancy so I forgot if I would get a scan first or not but they told me on the phone when I made my appt that I would have a sonogram.

I can't wait to see my little bean either. Probably at least another 5 weeks for me. And I can't wait to find out what I am having but will have to wait until 20 week scan. We found out with DS. I don't really mind boy or girl I just don't want to wait another 8 months to find out!

Hey guys! I’m about 8 weeks and supposed to be due around the middle of May, I’m guessing the 16th as I know when I ovulated but the midwife reckons the 3rd of May.

I’ve been nauseous from around 6 weeks all day! Not been sick mind. This is my 4th pregnancy and I’ve got 3 girls from a previous relationship. Hoping this one is a boy. Saw the little bean on Friday just gone as I had a bleed in the week and everything is as it should be. Measuring between 7-8 weeks and saw the baby and yolk sac and the fluttering heart ❣

Roll on those 12 week scans! Xxx

I can justify it this time round because although this is my 3rd baby it’s OH’s first so it’s obly fair he gets the full shebang

Hi Everyone!!

Pink- I have done a 3rd ultrasound with both my pregnancies and will again this time even if I do not find out the gender. It is nice to have that video and show the kids later on or put it in baby book!

I have a little picture book that I have kept with all of my scans from my first and second baby. We have juuust enough pages left for this third baby
