Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Maybe how is your Dad doing? I hope he's okay!

We had a fun day, we didn't go anywhere but it was fun with just the three of us (no PCT - WOO HOO!!) Steve is at some charity dinner tonight, another one on Monday and then the week after he's off to London for some trade show / exhibition thing, first class train and then some nice luxury hotel - Cushy or what?!?! Lucky sod :haha: Oliver and I are going to stay at my parents when he's in London so that will be nice, its only for one night :)

I've been sorting my self assessment tax out tonight. Not too scarey as I made a loss so no big bill to pay. It makes me all nervous though, like when you're driving with a police car behind you :haha: Maybe thats just me :dohh: :haha:

Well after reading a bit of the No Cry Sleep Solution I've been putting Oliver to bed early all week - after Christmas his bedtime had slipped back to 7/8pm and he was terrible, taking ages getting to sleep and waking up a fair bit. So I put bedtime back to 6 / 6.30pm and the difference is amazing! He's asleep within half an hour and he's sleeping so much better! Yay!

Sarah - Aren't in-laws just great? :dohh:

I'm pretty sure they way i feel is just the vampire baby stealing everything as well! :haha: The symptoms i have come and go, like my throat isn't sore anymore, but likely will be in the morning, i don't know, it just feels like being run down  Last time i just rested constantly, and i was already on mat leave then, and got nothing at all done really! This time i have alot to sort, and Roh to cope with, so yeah the lack of rest takes its toll i suppose. OH keeps telling me to do nothing except what i need to do with Roh and take it easy, but then he doesn't even put his own stuff in the dishwasher, or remember to wash his own clothes, so how am i meant to do nothing?!?! :dohh:

Ah well, i'll survive! :haha: I'm sure i'll have plenty of time to rest and relax when the baby is here!

Hah, Sarah tax makes me sweaty too! :haha:

I did the same thing with Roh's bedtime a little while ago, it was always 7.30pm, but i felt he was getting too stressed after the bath as he was overtired, and then being a nightmare to get to sleep. Switched it around so he has his bath at 6pm ish then milk and itng, and then bed at 6.50pm. Its helped soooo much, he's usually off by 7pm pretty much and the whole routine is loads more relaxed as he burns off his energy in the bath then winds down with itng

Oh Emera, sorry you are feeling so run down, and that your oh is being no help! I dont think they understand the toll pregnancy takes on us - my dh wonders why im grumpy in the evening - ummm im growing a baby, breastfeeding a toddler, working, looking after the home and him.... no idea?!!!!!lol. I hope there is some sort of 'miracle' and you get even just a morning or afternoon to yourself to relax!
Sarahwoo-I have found the same with t - putting her to bed by 6.30pm makes it much less stressful and she goes to sleep quicker! She wakes up the same time every morning regardless of what time she goes to bed (far too early for my liking!)
Hope everyone else is ok xxx

Thats a nice routine! We just do bath, then by the time he's dry and in his PJ's he wants his boo boo :haha: Steve had some pictures printed for by his bed - one of ITNG and one of the moon (Oliver is absolutely obsessed by the moon and stars!) and I put them up today. Oliver was so excited when he saw them and then didn't want to get back out of bed :haha: I ended up skipping his bath, he was asleep for not long after 6pm! What's even better though is that he still sleeps in until 7/8am :happydance: He has dropped his daytime nap though - unless we're in the car which always sends him to sleep.

I think I really underestimated over-tiredness, its lovely to have my evenings back :happydance:

Yeah overtiredness is the mother of all evil i'd say!! :haha:

Sarah - Oliver sounds cute with the pictures :) Roh is like that with new stuff, he's still loving the new bed and each sleep (nap and bedtime) he's taken something different to bed with him, and won't give it up! :haha: The other day it was a handful of mini books, then a full sized book that evening, and today a toy hammer for naptime, and tonight his towel robe and a bobble hat ??? He makes me laugh. I kept saying lets put the towel in the bathroom for tomorrow, but no it was "no mummy. Towel bed" ah well

Mork - I think OH is trying to give me a break, he got up with Roh this morning and gave him breakfast and then took him in the sitting room to play. Problem is, he leaves the door open, puts the radio on, chases Roh about etc. they have a great time, but its noisy and i wake up anyway, then i can't get back to sleep :dohh: And he does that, but then doesn't clear up. He seems to think that i can cope with the mess just piling up, like he can  Oh well, at least he's trying, i feel bad complaining when he makes an effort

Bobby takes aaaages to fall asleep! I am usually in there for an hour :dohh: I tried leaving at the 50 min mark this evening (he was breathing heavily and seemed asleep) as soon as I shut his door he woke up and cried. I went back in and about 15 mins later was able to leave again.

What time does he go to bed Modo? Its so frustrating!

Emera awwwww bless him taking the towel to bed! Oliver does that too with random stuff, but because he's in our bed I generally find it when I lay on it :dohh: Its normally trains / cars / etc but it has been things like his toothbrush :haha:

I discovered with Steve that rather than seeing the stuff that needs doing and not doing it, he genuinely just doesn't see that it needs doing  So whereas I walk into the kitchen and think that needs putting away, that needs sweeping up, that needs wiping down, that needs washing . . . he just walks in and thinks oohh, coffee! oohh, food! And as long as there is a clean cup / plate etc he just doesn't register anything else. Men eh!

Oh yes, this is exactly whats going on! I know it :haha: Its not that he won't help its that it frankly doesn't occur to him that its a problem in the first place :haha: You know, having spent 21 months raising a little boy, it does occur to me that this is about as mature as they are ever going to get. All men are effectively stuck at toddler level, its that "ooh biccie, nice biccie, train, my train , choo-choo, ooh tele..." thought process that doesn't change except to "ooh coffee, nice coffee, ps3, my ps3, bam bam bam, ooh tele..."
..... :dohh:

That is SOOOO true!!!

Between 5.30 and 6.30 depending on how long his nap was.

Eek so you can't even really make it earlier can you? Hopefully its just a stage and it'll pass . . . . its so frustrating when you sit there until you think they are totally asleep, and then you tiptoe to the door like a mouse and somehow, without even opening their little eyes, they know you're trying to make your escape :dohh:

Thanks all for your hugs and well wishes! My dad seems fine, we have to see what the doctor says when he looks at the trace! Hopefully it will be nothing!

:hugs: to you all. Sorry am too tired to post more xx
