Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Oh emera: hope you are ok hon and manage to not get induced :hugs:

Maybe: Hope bedtime went ok :hugs:

Just a quick one from me as H wants the computer Emera hope you and bump are feeling better, how scary. Hope you can avoid induction too.

Maybe hope the kids go to bed for you nice and quickly and you can get a couple of hours to yourself before bedtime.

 Hi to everyone else.

Evening!

Maybe I hope the kids all went to bed okay :hugs: :hugs:

Emera I hope you and bump and okay, and that things improve so you don't need to be induced :hugs:

Muddles I hope you and bump are doing well!

We had a fun day, we went to the park and played in the snow - Oliver loved it! He would have played there all day :haha: The cold didn't seem to bother him at all, he was so cute :) We've got about 15cm of snow, its been lovely having my car and not worrying about getting stuck. Although Steve took it to Bradford yesterday to a meeting and when he got home he couldn't get parked on our street. He drove back onto the next street which is a fairly steep hill, parked up and was about to get out when a car slid down the hill, crashed into the car behind him which crashed into my car :hissy: The other two cars were really smashed up but on the surface mine doesn't look so bad - at a glance you wouldn't see anything really but it will at least need a new bumper. So at least it can still be driven and its all been sorted out by the insurance now so we'll see what happens next. I couldn't believe it when Steve told me, I could have cried :haha:

Sorry about your car Sarah :( Glad Oliver had fun in the snow. It didn't get very thick here but it was good enough :D

Bobby is still asleep  When he wakes up we will give him some breakfast then off to nursery. Unless he wakes up now now then we will just go straight to nursery as they have breakfast there at 8am.

Sarah sorry to hear about your car, that is so annoying as you only just got it back recently didn't you? At least this time it wont cost you any money to fix, and thanks goodness none of you were hurt.

Modo How is Bobby getting on at nursery?

I appear to have taught Oliver a new phrase. We came back from shopping and as we were putting stuff away I dropped a box of teabags on the floor and said 'oh man' (I am trying hard not to swear these days ) and then Oliver spent the time between me dropping it and him going for a nap dropping things then saying 'oh maaaa' and laughing

Premature post!

Hope everyone is ok!
We are fine, SPD has reached crippling levels, its crap, but not long to go! Roh's cracking me up, watching helicopter heroes or something similar and he's in a total frenzy shouting "doctor" "coptor" at the tv! :haha:

Similar to Muddles' Oliver Roh now says "oh no, be careful" if he knocks something over or similar! :dohh: we have little parrots now don't we!

I went to a talk with a speech therapist it was interesting! She was saying that they will store new words for over 6 months sometimes before using them. And they understand words and concepts about 3-6 months before they actually use the word.

Modo, I remember you saying Bobby didn't talk much yet, I bet he just starts on fully formed sentences in 6 months time;) also were you raising him to be bi-lingual? This therapist said that that can really slow down initial speech development at the beginning, as its more for them to organise in their heads, but its worth doing, as they will retain both languages for life, as a rule  anyway it was facinating, and all the toddlers there were about the same age and at such different stages!

Hi emera how are you doing? Hope you are feeling much better and get back on track to avoid an induction!! That is so interesting about the speech. SPD is no fun xx

Sarah, what a bummber about the car! Sound like you had a lush day though.

Muddles that is so cute!

Maybe hope you had a smooth bedtime and a good day today!

Well we have decided on the britax b dual today and got the sinlge on ebay for a bit of a bargain, just hope it's as good as they say. now need to source a second seat, which shouldn't be too much of a problem. We have also bought a few things for Will's bedroom, to make it into a big boy room so we can transfer the nursery curtains/lampshade and bedding over to the baby's room, when it's done. so we are getting there. It's nice to be getting ready by sorting Will out!!

We bought this, I think he'll love it.

L-C I've decided not to bother with a double buggy for the time being. I miss wearing Roh on my back a lot, so when there is 2 of them I'll be happy to have one in the carrier and one in the pram/pushchair. Our cheapie stroller is knackered out completely so I'm thinking I'm going to wait and see what I actually need once they are both here before I rush into buying anything. Thought I might get away with a decent stroller and a buggy board in 6 months time, but we will see how it goes. my mum isn't thrilled but I've told her if she wants a twin stroller she can buy one for herself, or get her head round the ergo :haha:

Hi all - hope everyone is ok. I seem to be reading and running all the time at the moment. Amy wants to be doing something all the time!

Just a quick question - Emera how comfy is your ergo? Or anyone who has advice / experiance! I have a carrier but dont like it and have been looking at the ergo and really like it but was wondering how good they are!

Emera - I've been debating it for ages and we got the single for £120 so not too bad, may be able to recoup the cost by selling my old one. It's about 1 mile roundtrip into town and I think for me I'd be more in control with options. I do the walk daily, I had been thinking about managing with a carrier but settled on this one as then I can convert it to a single and let Will walk when he's more able. Saying that he did town and back today doh!!

H&F - I absolutely love the Ergo! I was still using it up to a couple of months ago, actually think i used it about 4 weeks ago to quickly pop to the shops, so that tells you how supportive it is. If you use it with a baby under 5 months though then you need the newborn insert, which makes the whole thing together quite expensive. I'd definitely recommend it as a carrier though, i certainly don't feel the need to look at another one now i have it

Emera the speech thing is so interesting! Oliver copies everything now :haha: He suprises me a lot though - I got out some more Thomas trains the other day and he picked out Duck right away and said 'Duck' - we've only got a few books with Duck in and he'd never seen that model before - also I thought he might be confused that a train is called Duck but he seems to understand perfectly. He says 'Gosh' quite a lot which he got from me :haha: and the other day I said something to him and he said 'yeah yeah yeah' which sounded SO funny. He's also started saying 'love you' - when Steve is going to work etc Oliver says 'bye bye Daddy, See you, oooooo Daddy' - the oooooooooo bit it love you, he says it with the intonation of 'love you' which is so cute. Tonight when he went to bed he said ooooooo Daddy to Steve and then when it was just me and Oliver he said Ooooooo mimi and gave me a kiss :cloud9: I'm still mimi, though I'm getting the odd mummy now too :haha:

Well I've spent far too long today on the phone to insurance people :dohh: My car goes in on Thursday and I get a hire car the same day. Had a bit of a debate about the replacement car because I insisted on another 4x4 and obviously they are more expensive, but I got my own way in the end :haha: Quite looking forward to seeing what I get now although I expect I won't want to give it back if its something nice :haha:

I love hearing about all the babies speech - Amys favourite phrase at the moment is 'oh dear' which she has got off my mum and she says it in a really posh accent so its very funny! she also likes to shout 'silly mummy silly daddy oh no' when she wakes up in the morning.

Well after a rough night last night I have been amazingly productive today! Me and Amy made banana bread, cupcakes and meatballs which are in the slow cooker for dinner tonight! Amy went up for a nap at 1 and I promised her when she wakes up she can decorate the cupcakes so I am putting my feet up as I know I will have to clean the kitchen for about the 4th time today once she has been decorating!

Hope everyone is ok x x x

Hey all, its so interesting to hear how our lo's are growing and the cute things they do! T still says 'uh oh' a lot, especially when she does something she knows shes not supposed to!!!
I am so over the cold and snow now! I am sick to the back teeth of being stuck indoors as its just too icy to go out walking or in the car :( Hope it miraculously melts tonight - alhtough i doubt it at -6 already! Brrrrrrrr.....
Hope youre all keeping warm!
xxx

Emera - how are you feeling after the scare?

Modo - does bobby still like nursery? Owen went for the 1st proper session yesterday! He liked it and only cried a bit towards the end at 12ish as he was tired and due a nap!

Sarah - hope you get a good car!

LC - that britax buggy looks good I have seen it in a catalogue! I couldn't have done without a double for d and e, d was only 1yr 9months!

H&f - I have a boba 2g carrier. Not using it as much in the winter but it's good for older babies! It's 8months plus though! I had a baby Bjorn before that.

Well Owen is so not a baby he talks so much and throws proper tantrums! He speaks mainly in English with the odd bit of Spanish like 'que te caes' when he's got up on a chair or other high up place! It means 'you're going to fall' he said I love you for the first time to me the other day though it was more pronounced luv oooo!

Mork hope you're managing to keep warm! It got to 4 deg last week here which is super cold for gib especially as we've no central heating at home or school!

Wow H&F you did have a productive day!! The banana loaf sounds lush. We still have a mountain of carot and courgette muffins, but Will likes them and they're not too bad so I don't mind.

Mork, Will says uh oh a lot!! It's so cute, although not when he has intentionally tipped something over lol. Not long until you're half way, are you going to find out? Did you with T?

Sarah well done wangling another 4x4 from the pics it looks as though you need it.

Maybe, Owen's speech sounds fab, how's he sleeping now?? Much better I hope! Well, Will has progressed to 6 am which is bliss in comparison to 4:30 am, phew. Glad Owen like nursery, it makes leaving them so much easier. We have our first parent's evening tonight, sounds very grown up.

Emera, I hope all is well with you hun xx

I ate some parma ham on Monday, it was cooked around some chicken, I then checked the book and realised you shouldn't eat it. I now have a tiny bit if a funny tummy and am worried, what do you think??

We have swimming today, then hopefully a quiet afternoon, it's a short drive back and I struggle to get Will in to his bed from the car, if he wakes he thinks he's had a his sleep.

Anyone else got a fussy eater?? Will used to be great, but since he was ill and ate whatever he wanted (within reason) I'm struggling to get him to eat hardly anything. I gave him a jacket potato with tuna and cheese last night as I know he likes all of the components, he ate the SKIN and picked of the cheese - strange boy!!

Hope you all have a good day xxx

L-C I'm sure Wills eating will come back to normal eventually. Roh was very fussy for literally a couple of months after his sick bug, but back to normal now :)
You'll be fine with the parma ham hun, especially as I was cooked, totally safe

Also that Britax buggy looks really good

maybe Owen sounds soo sweet!

Well I feel like this baby is about to fall out! I literally spent most of yesterday with pelvic floor and buttocks clenched as t really was feeling like if I didn't then things might start! I'm so pleased to have made t further than I did with roh though :) just want to get my blsanket finished before she comes now!! :haha:

:hugs: to all of you, sure I forgot to say stuff! :dohh:
