I'm only at 3 DPO. It' soooo early but I'm here scratching my head because my post-o temps are unusually high.

For 4 cycles with BFNs my temps range around 36.5 C (97.7 F) on the first week post-o.


This time instead of 97.7 I'm at 98.4... and I temp at 3:15 AM!!!!

This is the first cycle we covered the FULL 4 days of the fertile window
Hey. Ovulation day was on my birthday. That helped.
Oh. And I used pre-seed and mucinex (to have good external and internal fluid)!


@Shorty88 Can you put me down for the 18th? I'll test on 12 DPO.

Last month was the 1st cycle after a chemical pregnancy that really got me down and I wasn't trying or charting anything other than temps.

I read a good summary that cites the scientific data and explains how the "every second day" myth started:

It is true that sperm concentrations will drop with increasing frequency of intercourse but daily intercourse does not drop the count enough to reduce the added conception benefit of each act of daily intercourse.

In fact, studies show that while it's true that sperm count may go up with abstinence, sperm vitality overall goes down. Researchers found that by ejaculating within 1 to 4 hours and 24 hours again, total motile sperm count increased over and above that of the first ejaculate.

Turns out the belief is that men should ‘save up’ their sperm before the fertile window, even if they have low sperm count, may actually decrease the percent chance of conception​

And I stored a link to a study that showed that BD for 3-4 consecutive days well-timed during the fertile window gives the highest chance of conception. Despite lower concentrations. The benefit of the frequency increases the overall chances per cycle.

But every other day is still very good if you know when you ovulate.

The point is that it's up to you and you get to decide.

Shorty: Every other day until you get a strong positive then dtd the day of the positive and the next day is what I've read to be the best. Hope that helps some. Hugs

Another good friend is pregnant on accident. Her husband has 1 freaking testicle. I feel so pathetic about myself. Happy for them, but sad for me. Story of my life on this TTC journey.

Yes, it will feel so amazing to finally have my news to share. It just hurts so bad to feel like we're being punished for something. Maybe I have the wrong attitude all together, but it's hard not to feel down about this.
