November Testing Thread :)!

PAH! DH has been held on duty 2 hours after his shift so far. I can already feel the "I'm too tired" excuse coming before he's even home! Any ideas how long it normally takes from a completely negative (no test line) OPK to a strong positive? Last cycle I'd already got slightly fainter test lines by the time I started using them.

No idea about OPKs, as I've never used one.

As far as your DH... with mine, early on I asked if having a baby was really his priority too and if so, to remember I cannot impregnate myself. I am willing to give up a bunch of stuff and totally modify my life to minimize risk and incubate a baby; however, his job is to fertilize the egg. I've been told men like to feel needed... maybe try wording some of this in a way that makes him responsible for the BFP (also lets him feel proud of himself when he gets it done).

Yes, though his opinion is it'll happen when it is meant to happen! Oh to be so insightful ;)

He can think whatever he likes, doesn't change basic biology. If things work normally, you get one egg per month with a 12-24 hour window to fertilize it. It's never going to be "meant to happen" if the timing is off!

Hi there,

I have heard that with OPK's you actually ovulate anywhere from 12-36 hours after the positive. The lines are probably getting lighter because OPK's pick up surges, so basically a burst if you will, of hormones.

I caved and tested. 9 DPO BFN which for me means BFN because AF is due Monday so a test would show up by now................poop

Sorry for your BFN, don't forget your hcg levels double every day for the first few weeks so you may get your BFP if AF doesn't show her ugly mug Monday xx Fingers Crossed!

9 DPO is wayyyyy early to get a BFP. Implantation can take 6-12 DPO, and even then, it takes another 4-5 (10-17 DPO) for enough HCG to be produced to get a positive HPT. If you've not yet gotten a period, I would still consider you "in" for the month!

How soon after ovulation/fertile days the cervix become firm again? I'd never paid attention to the difference, but today it's much more firm the last at least 2 days....

Congrats Danielle on your :bfp: I'm excited for you too! Me, you and Tink all within the first couple of days, it's gonna be a good month for bfps!

He took it great. He's super excited!! He said its the best birthday present he's ever gotten.

Hi ladies,

I'm 3DPO and I've been saliva/fern testing and didn't think I'd ovulate after waiting till CD21/22 but super excited that I ovulated. 1DPO was blank no ferning, yesterday was blank with some crystals and today I have ferns, not everywhere but they are definitely there! So hoping a good sign for pregnancy!

Hello ladies! I'm Donna and I'm new in this forum. Been TTC for 2 months. I just had my period, very hurt, and heavy, and I had bad CD2 ultrasound result due to hmg injection. So, the doc told me to try ovulating naturally this month. No medication or anything. Considering my cycle, I would probably start testing by end of this month. If I'm lucky. Baby dust for you all!

Hi Ladies. Tested this morning and BFN. Still remaining positive as I wasn't sure if I ovulated CD14 or CD 21 as had ewcm both those days. I am CD27 today so AF could come next weekend. If no AF will test then x

Morning ladies. Decided to test this morning as the spotting seemed to have stopped early last night. Still feeling quite crampy.

I think I see something on this test! Well I mean I do for sure, it's pretty light but it's there. It's just an IC. Don't know if I want to run out and buy a digital yet. This was SMU a few minutes ago. My cellphone is taking blurring pics this morning which makes this even harder to see.
