PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

Breakfast- I typically ate things like ham with eggs and cheese. I could not tolerate carbs.

So about 10 I ate a snack, usually nuts and an apple. Higher fat nuts like macadamia and walnuts were my go to.

Lunch was usually a salad with rotisserie chicken and mustard. (Interesting I could not eat chicken while pregnant but rotisserie was at least okay.)

Dinner was usually a protein, typically steak because I craved it so bad! And a huge helping of low carb veggie and a bit of higher carb veggie like corn or sweet potatoes.

For additional snacks I ate mostly cheese and veggies with dip such as hummus or ranch (or peanut butter with celery.)

I had 2 snacks, one at 10 and one at 2:30. I also had a before bed snack of full fat Greek yogurt and blue berries so help with blood sugar lows and night.

Overall I focused on a protein with half a plate of veggies with butter or coconut oil depending on the veggie.

I read online that GD diet is different for everyone, some ppl say they eat 30g breakfast and 30g snacks. I guess i will cut dairy and wait for my glucose test. If i got GD then doctor will tell me what to do ha:coffee:

Yes, there are many different approaches. This was mine and it worked okay but I had existing insulin resistance so I think I needed less.

This next time I'm really hoping to not end up on insulin and just do diet alone.

Well my endo doesnt see me anymore and my gyno doesnt think i have pcos nor insulin resistance, she thinks im just a fatty that eats shitty hehe
She got that mean judging look on her face that i wanna punch:blush:

Btw do you ladies think Clomid babies are different somewhat? My friend that has a clomid baby was saying that her baby is bigger and healthier because clomid make you produce a strong egg which results in strong embryo. Sounds kinda dumb but who knows:shrug:

Hmm.. I wouldn't think so. Ds was clomid but I also miscarried a clomid baby.

Ah you girls seem to have so much figured out ... I wish I could change my diet, but it's so hard  I waste so much food trying to buy healthy cause with a picky DH it's hard to eat alone. I always eat better out than I do at home, cause I can order whatever I want, but at home its pizza and frozen chicken tenders... I hate cooking and I find i waste so much time prepping for a 5 min dinner.

Anyways, no O this month. My progesterone came back too low. It has to be over a 4 i think, and it was either 1.7 or .17 (i remember the numbers just not sure which side of the decimal they are)
So maybe next month? I gotta take Provera to start my cycle most likely. The nurses try to sound so optimistic, but i'm like, no O means no Period ...so I'll just get my stuff refilled and take it when it's time. But I think I'll wait the 40 days just cause ...
Good thing is that I won't have my crappy progesterone symptoms while on vacation! and after my anti-bacterial meds are done I can enjoy some QT with the Hubby! (I hate being on meds that say no sex, i feel deprived! -- mostly cause we haven't done it since before my fertile window started last week, and all ~that~ happened)

Star- sorry your progesterone came back so low. What is your plan for next cycle?

How is everyone doing?

Doing the same over here. 11/12 spot so af expected soon. Then 2 cycles until we try!

Diet is out the window. Halloween is tomorrow lol. I'm hoping after thanksgiving to really buckle down again. Getting really tired of this yo yo game. I lose weight well then even when sticking to my diet I stop so i give up as it isn't working long anyway and gain some weight back then start again. Getting old.

So yeah. Nothing that interesting going on here. Inositol and my vitamins have made me ovulate for 5/6 cycles now.

Getting so close Kylas! I'm super excited for you to start ttc.

My diet has been awful lately. I'm gonna really work on getting back on track starting Tuesday. Hopefully no more excuses.

I know! I'm starting to freak out lol. I hadn't a miserable pregnancy with dd. Morning sickness till 20 weeks. Spd started at mid 20something weeks so couldn't walk much. Thinking about going through all that while having a very active toddler scares the crap outta me!

Oh yea that's understandable! I had a very easy pregnancy but had crippling fatigue in the first tri. So that does worry me. But no morning sickness, just a touch of nausea. So I'm hoping for a similar go next time.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17 when a complex cyst larger than my uterus ruptured and left my ovary dripping blood into my abdomen and pelvic region. I was skinny and fit so they didn't consider PCOS probable until the like, 4th cat scan and saw the follicles. Still skinny but not as fit. Work and life has kept me from the gym! So losing weight to help isn't an option and all the doctor had to offer was birth control, but TTC with that is kinda pointless. With all of the doctor visits I had, I'm so tired of all things pills/shots. I got IVs, morphine, a handful of other drug names I can't even remember, and always being poked and prodded. "Does this hurt?" "We'll give you this for that and that for this and here's a little bit of that one thing so that we can do this." I almost died of blood loss twice and I'm anemic. So taking the birth control pill every single day was super important for the condition to see if it was helping. It was take birth control, or have a baby. So when I finally got tired of having to get yet another refill and start a whole new month, I just decided I was ready for a baby anyways and I wanted one, and my fertility was already equivalent to that of a 40 year old woman so I went in for that. But it's been hard and I REALLY don't want to get back on ingesting things for anything, even though I know it would probably help if I did start fertility treatment. I'm gonna be 8dpo tomorrow and I'm going insane.. I also don't have a good feeling about this month and even though I "ovulated", PCOS makes everything so hard to tell so sex just around ovulation isn't even what I have to do. I'm tired of sex all the time and I'm tired of waiting! Lol. My life is at a standstill, I'm comfortable. All that I'm waiting on is a baby. Feeling stuck sucks

AF just showed...i am so shocked.. my past 2 cycles have been "normal" ..for the first time in over a year! in the 21 months we have been ttc, aside from the 2 times I was pregnant, my cycles have been over 35 days..never the same 2 times in a row.. Last cycle was 30 days, this cycle is 29.. I havent change anything..wondering if that means nothing at all or if my body might finally be figuring things out! Have to call to make appointments for my Sonohysterography and some other genetic testing, then they MAY finally give me femera.

That's good your cycles are shortening. Fx it's a positive sign! I hope you get some answers and can start on femara.

Af is due tomorrow and given my temp dropped to the coverline today I'm sure she will show. This was my second round of femara. I'm feeling so defeated. I think it's time for the break I have been thinking of taking the last two cycles. I have a doctor's appt Dec 7th so thinking of waiting until then to make any decisions.

Hi everyone. Haven't popped in over here in a while. I am TTC baby #2 and have been for almost 4.5 years.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in June of this year and started on Metformin. Been taking that since and have seen my cycles go from 32-39 days in length with days and days of spotting down to 29-30 days in length and no spotting.

This cycle, the timing was just about perfect, I saw my gyn for a check on the Metformin and she agreed to put me on Femara. I took 2.5 mg along with the Met days 5-9 of my cycle. I'm CD 14 now, waiting on signs of O. I've been crampy on and off for a few days and have had trace amounts of ewcm. I'm hoping the cramping means I'm gearing up to O. I have no opks but gyn said they may not be reliable when on the femara.

If it doesn't work out this cycle, gyn will bump me up to 5 mg. I'm kind of feeling like that's what I'll need to do. Haven't found any success stories at 2.5 mg. I will also ask for a referral for a SA for hubby.

Anyways, just wanted to say hello.

Did you ladies get whooping cough vaccine while pregnant?

My doc suggested that i get flu and whooping cough vaccine at 26 weeks which is coming up soon and i gotta make a decision.

I dont like the fact that they donno if it for sure protects the baby if i get this vaccine while pregnant and also they donno if its safe to do while pregnant. I have been reading and reading about different studies and havent found anything satisfying to make a decision. :coffee:

I didnt... didnt get any vaccines at all while pregnant, I educated myself on the topic, did my research and decided I didnt need it. Im not against vaccines either, I just didnt want anything during pregnancy, and I stay away from the flu shot period.

I did both. Whooping cough needs to be done later though. Closer to delivery so it can protect baby too. I want to say I was 36 weeks maybe. I think they aim for a month before birth. Whooping cough I felt was super important as it is deadly for babies before they can get vaccinated. Flu just protectts you so that you can do anytime. I made OH and my parents and grandparents get it too. It's no joke.

I got the flu vaccine as it was something very dangerous to get while pregnant. I didn't get whooping cough until 34 weeks since it needs to be in your system a while for any immunity to get your baby but close to delivery to be of benefit.

Afm, onto another cycle. I'm going back to clomid since I seem to respond well. I'm also adding black cohosh. I did that in January and got pregnant so hoping for a second bfp on that combo.
