Okay, I know in Canada that you can walk into any pharmacy and purchase a plan B or "the morning after pill" for about $40, or go to a clinic and get it for about $10-$20 if you are able to go during clinic hours. I took one before and I've been to get one for 2 friends, and I know that LOTS of people here have used them.. it only takes a short consultation with the pharmacist where they ask you simple questions you'd know the answers to,

You can take it for the first 72 hours after you had sex if you think there's a risk of pregnancy from it, it's more effective the sooner you take it, and the only side effects are normally flu-like symptoms (which I did not experience when I took it).. you're allowed to take gravol for them too.

Is this available anywhere else? ie: UK/USA/etc? Because I think this would be a helpful tidbit of information for some of the girls on here.

*edit* ALSO it's not an "abortion pill" if you were wondering, it just prevents implantation.

Yes, it's called the morning after pill in the UK and is free. :)

available in the US too and it is free if you go to Planned Parenthood. I've taken it a few times before i was TTC.

Its a good thing but not to be relied on as a souce of contraception

yeh its free from the doctor/hospital but you can get it over the counter £20-£25

i never realized you had to buy it somewhere else. Planned Parenthood just has the girl fill out a form, and you are asked to make a donation, but dont have to if you dont want to. its been free all 3 times ive taken it

Morning after pill is free to women under 21 I think...or 23 or something like that. Doctors, pharmacies etc. It was about £21 if you're over the max age when I was working at the pharmacy.

If the Pharmacist isn't trained they shouldn't be giving the pill to you...If you're under the max age... I thought.. My mind is a bit fuzzy on this though, but there's a special training thing which allows Pharmacists to give the pill for free to girls under the max age, but over is fine...wow I'm getting all jumbly. It could be that our Pharmacist just sent the girly to the other Pharmacy because she COULD get it for free over there because they were trained...

We have one available in the UK anyway!!! ^_^
