I will say this, If drug addicts and alcoholics can get pregnant and give birth then surely an anti-depressant won't hurt anything. I have learned from my last pregnancy to never put all my trust in doctors bc after all they are just practicing. They can't 100% GUARANTEE us anything. From now on I'm going to be the one educating my Obg. Who knows your body better than you? What can they do? Nothing but listen and hate to see me when my next appointment comes....lol...I will not be silent anymore.

The part about telling you to give up and adopt? You should have asked him was he losing his mind. Never give up on your hopes and dreams. Life and Death is in God's hand. When He(God) tells you to give up and adopt then you have something to worry about. He has the final say so NOT your Doc. Now lift your head up and smile.

I totally relate to this.., I've had to educate my gp, fertility specialist and the midwife about my autoimmune thyroid condition and its link to miscarriage....
hopefully it will alert them if they have patients in the future who suffer this condition.

Thanks Mandy. I'm doing well. The bleeding and cramps have eased up today which is a relief. I've already started thinking about trying again and have ordered some Maca root which I was taking when I conceived pg number 3 last year. I checked online if it would be okay to take with thyroxine and i read that Maca can help boost the endocrine system so that's a bonus. I'm on 75mcg Levothyroxine now as my last visit showed a TSH of 9.76 and a FT4 of 12.06 on 50mcg. Of course days later I found out I was pregnant but am not dwelling on "maybes" and "what ifs". I have TFT bloods being taken on 8th June and hope the 75 is doing a good job. I'm dying to see a normal TSH and FT4 together.

Padbrat...wow! I haven't had AF either since my last mc...i mc'd on 12th April. So have no idea how far along i am lol! But they won't give me an early scan...?!?!?!

I really really REALLY hope this is the one for you. I have always been inspired by you on here...that may sound really sad but you know when you see posts from someone and you just know they are strong and an amazing person...thats what its like! LOL now i sound like a crazy stalker person...i assure you i'm not! wishing you all the best hun...here we go again.. xx

Hi honey good to hear you're recovering.,
If I were you I'd have my tsh checked before the 8th june.,I think it would benefit the pregnancy to have your tsh down to between 1-2., pm me if you want to discuss it some more...I could find the links I gave to my gp and send them on to you.
Hope that the maca helps out here too. Ask your gp if maca is ok to take along with thyroxine., did you know that taking thyroxine at the same time as iron actually reduces the absorbtion rate onf thyroxine into the body? I take iron which is included in my vitabiotic pregnancy( and previously conception) vitamins, so I take the thyroxine in the morning and vitamin pill at night..

So.. I went .... I was scanned... and..... it is a new pregnancy!! It is very early days... much earlier than normal, but the sac was clearly there and measuring 4mm. They are a little concerned at the strength of my pregnancy tests as I am so early and want to rule out an ectopic egg also being in my tube along with the normal one. Am back for the next scan on the 9th June.

MissM... I had my surgery on the 11th April so nearly the same time as you... when you tested did you get a 3+ straight away?

Mandy I do make sure my thyroxine is taken first thing and any other tablets at least four hours after. I did know about the iron issue but I don't take anything with iron in it. I did read online that Maca shouldn't affect the thyroxine and in fact it can help the thyroid act better and maybe reduce the dosage. My endo told me to have TFT done 5 weeks after my last appointment so he can monitor how I am doing on the 75mcg as last time they increased me to 75 I went overactive. So 8th June it is.

My thyroxine levels have been going screwy lately too.....

Was on 125 mg then got preggers last time and levels rocketed.... so dropped to 100mg... have just has bloods taken today as am preggers again and the levels are still too high so am dropping to 75mg...

What the heck is going on???

I know it's scary to be told that there's nothing wrong but on the positive side it means there's nothing major that's going to stop you having a baby & I'm sure that you'll be closely monitored during any future pregnancy.

Davies. I know exactly what you mean. All my tests came back normal, but after 6 clinical miscarriages, 3 early losses and 1 ectopic, I'm thinking probably not, hence trying the prednisolone for elevated NK cells.
This is based on the fact that my only pregnancy that was progressing well was my tubal pg.
Have you been tested for this. Sorry if you've already mentioned this in previous posts but things move so quickly on here.
I remember after my first tests getting the letter saying all is ok just keep trying, I was gutted. I thought at least if I knew what the problem was I could look at treatment.
Arghhh, it's just so damn unfair.
Will be thinking of you x.

I am 7 weeks and 5 days!!!

Pad yes i did get 3+ straight away. I tested with a digi on monday, the 23rd and it came up 3+ within 30 seconds. I hope we can complete the journey together! xx

Does anyone know if baby aspirin can cause spotting? I am still having very tiny amounts of light brown spotting, only once per day, but it's enough to worry me. Can the baby aspirin im taking be the cause?
