Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Great news 9babies. This has been a long time coming for you.

Amos, I have no idea how much hcg is in there either. I hope yours is negative by Saturday. How many days will it be from trigger on Sat? As for symptom spotting, it's hard not to, but yeah, those meds definitely make it impossible! Maybe that's a good thing. It takes some of the crazy making out of the tww.

Woohoo for bumpy! And (whispering) a cheer for continuing good news with 9babies...

Hopeful- this is my first IUI. I didn't even think about POAS right after the trigger- guess I should have so I could see if there is a difference between then and now.

Heart- Saturday would be 10 days after trigger. Surely it will be gone by then.

9babies...I pray this is your forever baby. Sounding good for you :)

Just passing by to check on all of you!

9 babies, I am so happy to hear your happy news! I have everything crossed for you.

And bumpy, I really hope everything works out very well for you. = )

As for me, little update, I am still on intralipid IVs but so far all is going well. My last NK cell blood test came back at a 16 level, which is down from my original 20.6. So it is coming down, just taking it's sweet time. I've done 4 IVs already and have 1 more scheduled. I'll probably be retested again at that point.

I wish you all the VERY BEST!

thanks mon - i've been wondering about you - think about you when i do legs up for a bfp ;) i hope to have an u/s with an actual baby in it one day too (yours looks awesome)

Aww, thank you. I admit I thought the legs up thing was crazy but it worked the first month I tried it so who knows? LOL

And thanks on the compliment, I think the baby is a cutie too heehee. Can't wait to see one of yours real soon!

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies!

There seems to be a good vibe on here lately...long may it continue xx

Congratulations Bumpy and 9babies. Keeping my Fx'd for you both.
Loving all the positivity on here right now.
Mon, how are you finding the intralipids I'm wondering if this will be part of my treatment too, waiting for NK cell results after miscarrying on Pred.
I'm sorry if you've already covered this but are you on steroids too?
Good luck x

And Mon keep us posted on your progress. Another success story is always welcome :)

So far I would say the intralipids have been very good. The worst part is getting an IV line. My veins are very thin and it's difficult to get a good line in. But we have found that the vein that runs on my right wrist is the best one for IVs.

Once it is in it is cold but not painful or anything. I just have to lay there for about an hour and I'm all done. Sometimes I get a bad headache after them or an upset tummy but by next day I'm fine, just have a sore wrist at the site of the IV. I got one yesterday and had a nasty headache afterwards but today I am fine.

I would say the worst part of the intralipid is the cost, I pay $750 for each one and insurance does not cover it. I need one every 4 weeks so it hurts the pocket book lol. But, the baby is always measuring ahead so she (we think it's a girl) is obviously not bothered by the NK cells.

As for steroids, I have never taken them. My specialist doesn't believe in using them for NK cell issues. She only uses intralipids or IVIG.

When do you expect your results back? You are going to feel great when you have an answer, I promise. I cried when I got my results but it was tears of joy. I kept telling the nurse "Oh my God, we figured it out!" I just couldn't believe that we finally knew why.

And just FYI, the only other thing I take is a baby asprin a day and Crinone progesterone 8% until the end of my 13th week, which is next week.

Hi everyone.....I just came across this and thought it pretty much hit the nail on the head. Gave me a much needed giggle and yet some hurt because they are so true. Hope you don't mind me posting some:

What no one told you about Trying to Conceive...
That your sex life would start to resemble a science experiment.
That I should have gone to medical school like my mom wanted, because I've had to do so much medical research by now just to figure out what was wrong with me, I might as well be an M.D.
That I would know more about the female reproductive system and menstrual cycle than most of the doctors I go to.
That I would EVER be willing to stick a little blue pill up my hoo-haa
That other people's "good news" of pregnancy makes me sad and when they tell me they have good news, I hope that they just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico.
That had I bought stock in Clearblue Easy I'd have my mansion on St. Pete's Beach in FL by now.
That a group of "strangers" who I will probably never meet, have now become my "best friends" when it comes to ttc.
That your friendships with your real life girlfriends would suffer because they got pregnant after being off the pill for 3 weeks.
That deep down inside, I can be a very jealous person.
That I wouldn't want to hold or see someone's baby because it just hurts way too much.
That DH would get used to doing his 'thing' in a jar.
That one day all of this will make us stronger.

I love this Amos! Thanks for sharing. I relate to every single one of those and have a personal story about almost all of these points. The only one I disagree with is buying stock in Clearblue. My stock should have been bought in First Response!!

Thanks! The article had tons more....these were just a few picked out. Some of them made me tear up just reading them because they are so true.

Tomorrow's the big day!!

Great news Mon, so happy its all going well for you and thank you for your reply. I too have thin veins, took them quite a while to even take the blood.
Should have the results soon and yeah I will be ecstatic if they can confirm elevated NK cells, I've been searching for answers for so long now.
Interesting about the intralipids, thank you for sharing your experience, I will be on the steroids too, tbh, everything is a worth a try at this stage.
I'm so excited for you x.

Good luck tomorrow Heart. Will be thinking of you.

Amanda- refresh my memory. How far along were you with your miscarriages? And did you ever have implantation bleeding?

Mon- sorry I didnt see your post somehow. Congratulations on your pregnancy- I remember seeing you around the board as well. Love to hear success stories!
