Mon, how are you finding the intralipids I'm wondering if this will be part of my treatment too, waiting for NK cell results after miscarrying on Pred.
I'm sorry if you've already covered this but are you on steroids too?
Good luck x
So far I would say the intralipids have been very good. The worst part is getting an IV line. My veins are very thin and it's difficult to get a good line in. But we have found that the vein that runs on my right wrist is the best one for IVs.
Once it is in it is cold but not painful or anything. I just have to lay there for about an hour and I'm all done. Sometimes I get a bad headache after them or an upset tummy but by next day I'm fine, just have a sore wrist at the site of the IV. I got one yesterday and had a nasty headache afterwards but today I am fine.
I would say the worst part of the intralipid is the cost, I pay $750 for each one and insurance does not cover it. I need one every 4 weeks so it hurts the pocket book lol. But, the baby is always measuring ahead so she (we think it's a girl) is obviously not bothered by the NK cells.
As for steroids, I have never taken them. My specialist doesn't believe in using them for NK cell issues. She only uses intralipids or IVIG.
When do you expect your results back? You are going to feel great when you have an answer, I promise. I cried when I got my results but it was tears of joy. I kept telling the nurse "Oh my God, we figured it out!" I just couldn't believe that we finally knew why.
And just FYI, the only other thing I take is a baby asprin a day and Crinone progesterone 8% until the end of my 13th week, which is next week.
