In the uk I think if you're over 35 then you get tests sooner but not if you are younger.

I did after my 2nd miscarriage but because I was 18 weeks into the pregnancy. I only had the APS/sticky blood test which came back normal.

Hi lightweight. Sorry for your loss. I'm in the same place currently having my second miscarriage. My doctor is going to start the testing as soon as this one is complete. So hopefully your doctor will help you out too! Good luck.

Hi - yes I went to see midwife in EPAU today - and because I'm 39 they started the process immediately and too all the bloods and vaginal swab to do the test and gave me a referral letter to take to GP.

hi girls, just joined this thread, i lost baby num 5 on wednesday 14th may 2010, for the last 2 i was on baby asprin n clexane but to no avail, thinning my blood out has done nothing except make me bleed more after the losses, im absolutly devastated, lol78 i had no af between babies 4 n 5, i got told off at the hos, but we had actually taken precautions as i didnt want to get an infection after losing baby 4, it didn't work for me, but i hav a very good friend who fell preg immediatly after a mc n her daughter was born very healthy, so to be honest i think it just depends on luck n nature, as my husband says " if it wasn't for bad luck me n him wouldn't hav any" although i'd rather hav no luck than all bad... good luck to u all i hope things work out...donna xxx

Hi Ladies. Well I have just had miscarriage number 3 confirmed at 9+6. They think the heart stopped at about 8+5. I am booked in for an ERPC tomorrow or Tuesday and not sure what to expect. I took baby aspirin this time and got further than the previous 2 pregnancies, but still not far enough by a long shot!

Hi girls

So sorry for the newcomers on this thread. I have got a BFP but feel as positive as a wet firework. I just cannot convince myself im gonna be ok. My treatment will start on Wednesday.

Lamburai, maybe you need the Heparin as well it sounds like a blood clotting prob. Have you had any tests yet ?

Good news on the BFP fluffyblue. I totally understand your lacking enthusiasm - it gets so hard to get excited over something that might not happen. But I will keep everything crossed for you and wish you all the best. I haven't had tests yet, but will ask about heparin. I'll give anything a go!

Hi ladies. I've also had 2 m/c in six months. The most recent was in April. I had the genetic testing done and my only abnormal result was one of the blood clotting tests. They put me on baby aspirin.

Does anyone here already have children? I have a four-year-old and experienced a text book pregnancy with her. Absolutely no scares or complications. We haven't been as lucky for number two.

Hi Californiamum, I have two kids albeit 17 and 9 but have lost 5 and an ectopic since my daughter was born. I too have a slight abnormality with blood clotting so am starting the heparin and aspirin on Wednesday after getting my BFP. Apparently the aspirin sometimes isnt enough for this type of thing. Im quite lucky my specialist is a Professor in Recurrent Miscarriage so is keeping an eye on me this time, doesnt take away my doubt but anything helps..

Fluffy am wishing you very healthy vibes for a good pregnancy and a bouncing baby xx

hi fluffyblue, i had my 5th m/c wed 12th may 2010, my consultant has finally agreed to send me to the royal womens hospital in liverpool, like you to c a professor in recurrent m/cs. good luck hun xxx

I had my 4th mc on april 22nd. I finally went to a fetal specialist who then diagnosed me with some blood clotting abnormalities. So when I become pregnant I need to take a baby asprin every day and do Lovenox injections in my belly and take progestrone suppositories due to my lack of producing prog.

:hugs: to all...

Hi all. I had an ERPC on Sunday following 3rd miscarriage. It hadn't started naturally in any way as we only found out on Friday that the heart had stopped a few days before (about 8+5) so I don't really know what to expect next? I have had no bleeding so far just some back and stomach cramps but am still giving whopping great BFPs. My cycles are usually about 35 days long so any ideas when I should expect to ovulate/AF? I'm getting married in June so I bet AF rocks up on that bloody day (pardon the pun).

I'm sorry I can't help Lamburai as all mine have been medical management but didn't want to read and run

big :hugs:

Oooh ladies who can help!

I've just been refered to the recurrent miscarriage clinic I'm just wondering what I can expect? There was mention of blood tests and a scan xx

Serene, I have been referred to the recurrent M/C Clinic too. I had loads of bloods taken and will have a pelvic u/s just before I go in to see the Consultant. I googled him to see if he was any good! LOL

That is all I know.. let you know more after I have been on the 1 July!

I haven't been referred to the recurrent mc clinic as my Obstetrics Consultant wants to keep me under his treatment and doesn't want me to get "lost" in the system. I've had loads of tests carried out prior to getting pregnant for the 3rd time so they don't need to be carried out again. I don't believe I'm going to be tested for NK Cells/other clotting factors as my consultant has already told me he will prescribe prednisolone (steroid) tablets, hCG injections, Clexane injections, baby aspirin and Cyclogest when I get pregnant again.

However my gut feeling (and I believe my consultant thinks so too) that my miscarriages are caused by my sub-clinical hypothryoidism which was only diagnosed in January before I got pregnant.............my GP refused treatment as I was "sub-clinical" but as my repeat thyroid tests from 7 weeks gestation showed higher levels than previous of TSH and free T4 heading close to the bottom of normal range..........well all I can say is my Obs Consultant has referred me to an Endo Consultant to get my levels sorted.
