Thank you thank you thank you!
Its three gp's and a consulant who said no to progesterone testing! The tax I pay every month I should get a gp to myself! They said that its not proven hence not a standard course of treatment.
Hollybush did all ur tests come back clear? I like to be forearmed when talking to dr's now... they like to maintain bad luck and little explaination. Can you tell im bitter. Sorry ladies!
My consultant has told me that all treatment will be done empiracally and that yes it's not really proven however it CAN help. I have been warned that none of it may work however it's worth a try.
I didn't have RM testing as such. I lost my 2nd pregnancy at 18 weeks so I was tested for antiphospholids after that one which came back clear. I then had lots more blood tests at my GP as it was taking us a long time to conceive PG#3 - they all came back as normal apart from the thyroid function test..........however as it wasn't overt hypothyroidism I was denied treatment. I got my BFP on PG#3 in April this year, went straight under consultant care, HB seen at 7 weeks but at same time he spotted my subclinical hypothyroid diagnosis and ran another TFT - 2nd reassurance scan at 10 weeks showed baby was dead and my thyroid levels had got worse. Had to be referred to an endocrinologist who started my thyroxine treatment in September. We're banned from TTC until my levels return to normal. Even though the endo told me point blank he believes my miscarriages were NOT due to my double-than-normal TSH I prefer to think that as my body was struggling to keep me going on the thyroxine there was no way it could keep a baby going too. We also had chromosome testing done on baby#4 and on ourselves which gladly came back as normal.
So if it doesn't work next time then I can only put it down to bad luck.
