Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Like ya camera Rabbit.... looks a bit like mine! lol

thanks padbrat, was my bday present this summer - not getting much use at the moment as the weather is crap and i've lost the will a bit. :hugs:

LeeC - that's so crappy! Why can''t these "professionals" get a bit of sensitivity and empathy, mind you my sister is a nurse and I think you have to be quite a hard nut to do the job! I hope you can cope til next friday.

Petit - I keep wanting to call you pepitas which is Spanish for little seeds - sorry of I keep getting it wrong.

I can't be bothered with testing or anything anymore... so far all it has meant for me is lots of extra stress and waiting time I could ill afford. I'm 40 in May so it's full steam ahead now. I always wanted to be sure I tried everything and I think I pretty much will have if I can get someone to prescribe progesterone and streroids...so that's my plan now. Can't even begin to tell you what happened with my gynae in Bath today - KNOB! SO that's it, me, mother nature, aspirin, progesterone and steroids if I can get my hands on them... all I need now is a pg

Sorry, realise have just had big rant!

awww lil Rabbit... maybe we should go on a photography trip when the weather is better and make ourselves feel good!

Chilli... you rant away chick! Though Mother Nature has not been good to me so far so don't hold out much faith for her!

sounds good to me Pad :D

Chilli - sorry you had a crap time with gynae today - that sucks. I will keep my fingers crossed that mother nature, aspirin, progesterone and steroids work for you :hugs:

Thanks girls - miraculously one of my zillion messages left at the hospital was returned today by someone who was really helpful and nice!!!???? Turns out I will have to stay overnight in St M.s as they won't do op under local as I had hoped so won't let me get a train home... eek! I just want to be home these days where it's snuggly and safe. SHe also gave me a direct number to call her if I need to change anything - AMAZING!!!! Feeling a bit more relaxed now. ALso just got + OPK so work to be done!

Hi Everyone! Wow this thread moves fast!!

Sorry if I miss anyone out, such a lot to catch up on!

Rabbitt :hugs: I so hoped your scan would be more positive on wednesday- you are incredibly patient, I'm full of admiration for you

Chilli so glad you feel more positive now - I'm at the despondent dont know if I want to bother anymore stage, the consultant hasnt replied to my letter anyway- please keep us updated on what happens next

LeeC I cant imagine how you must be feeling right now! Surely they should have done the HCG bloods to measure for progression! Making you wait just seems cruel!

Amos- I remember you from before when I think we both had a loss around the same time. FX for this little one and I hope they sort out the meds you need like now!!!

Goodness this thread is huge! I am new to this area. I had a mc at 10 wks in Aug and a mmc at 6wks. I will be having a d&c on monday. The good thing is my Dr isn't waiting for me to have another mc before starting testing. What testing should I expect, I am completely clueless. He says I don't have a problem getting pregnant, or with implantation, its just at 6wks something goes wrong.

Hi guys, well I've made it through the weekend, I'm still spotting, still have sore breasts, but I'm feeling much more positive, despite still feeling like I'm in limbo, I'm wishing this week away so I can get to EPAS Friday and get some resolution.
How is everyone else?
Thanks for all of your support.
Hope everyone is feeling ok this morning xxx

LeeC, glad to hear you are feeling more positive... I'm wishing the week flies by for you!!

Me, well... It's been 4 weeks since my miscarriage and I'm still up and down like mad. Even though I wont see a specialist for 3 months, I thought I would chart until then so that i have a deeper understanding of my cycle. Well, for the past 5 days I've had +ve OPKs and yesterday my temperature spike started - up .3 yesterday and another .5 today. Hopefully it'll still be up tomorrow and if so it looks like i've ovulated, right?? (I have PCOS, did i mention that?) They say you are more fertile after a miscarriage dont they?? DP and I have BD'd a few times over the passed week and I know I shouldn't get prego until I've had all the tests done but now it looks like i'm in the 2WW!! Like all of you lovely ladies, i just want my BFP and a sticky bean!!!

Lara xx

LeeC, fingers crossed for Friday!!! Big  for the wait...

Lala, do you have a link to your chart? I'm so nosey!!!

Hey sammy, so sorry you have to join us!
I hope your D&C went as well as it could today :hugs:
In terms of tests, I wouldn't rule out implantation problems completely as 6 weeks is still relatively early on. Then again, I don't really know that much about it. In general, after three losses you could ask for clotting tests, lupus, NKcells (if they do that near you; it's quite a rare test) and karyotyping. It's probably a bit late to ask now and sorry for asking so bluntly, but did they send the foetus off for genetic testing today?

Petitpas, try the link below. However, because I only started charting my temp when I got my first +ve OPK, the chart doesn't make much sense... especially now that I got a huge dip in my temp from yesterday. It's down from 97.7 to 97.0... I don't get it yet and I'm so impatient. ;)

Any ideas??

Whoa! You haven't had a bleed since October??? Or have you just not put your last period in?

My suggestion would be to keep trying and keep temping. We'll eventually figure out what is going on :)

I'm sending you a friend request so we can keep an eye on each other if you want.
There's an option somewhere to change your nickname, btw. It was at the top left corner for a while but I haven't seen the link recently. FF is a little confusing on the options and tools, I find...

Hey Petitpas... my last real period was October and the only bleed i've had since was my miscarriage in December. I got the negative beta on the 10th of January and I've heard that after a miscarriage you ovulate when your numbers hit 0? My number was <1.0. That's why i decided to start charting and use the OPKs. It's very confusing. I'm wondering if my temps were affected because I stayed in a friends house for two nights, shouldn't think so but maybe?? I had ovulation pain on Saturday evening. OPK is still +ve today!

I'll have a look now at the options. Thanks for the friend request, that's great.

Hi Lala. Your chart is epic! I'm pleased you've started temping though as this will help you see what is going on way more clearly. I don't think there has been a sustained temp rise yet so not sure if you have ovulated, but I will keep checking over the next few days if that's ok with you? Good luck though.

Hi Lamburai, yes, that would be great. Thanks... I'm hoping that this will give me a clearer insight into what my cycles are doing ready for the specialist. I'm not a regular 28 day girl!! xx

The procedure went well. They didn't sent the fetus for genetic testing, I have an appointment in 6wks and we will start a ton of blood work.

Petitpas & Lamburai - this may seem like I'm clutching at straws but do you think because I started temping during a fertile patch of cervical fluid and +OPKs that these temps could actually be elevated and my normal BBT is lower that what I've charted so far?? Please be blunt!

Lala it's difficult to know when you start charting midway through a cycle. You could have a fallback rise, a few more temperatures should give you a better idea of what's going on.
You can split your chart, there's an option in the specific symptoms section for miscarriage (I've had to tick that box more than once)
