I am 28 also. We are now offically ttc our first. We had some whoopies before with my other pregnancies, but hopefully everything will be fine from here on out.
Hi All,
I replied to this thread a bit ago (my story is on page 2 or 3). I just wanted to say good luck to you all who are currently going through this.
I had one mmc due to a septum and immediately opted to have mine removed since it extended the entire length of my uterus. I was 31. After having it removed it took me 3 cycles for my uterus to recover and then 5 months of trying naturally to conceive. When I was doing the research on this a year ago, I read most women have a 1-2 cycle recovery period and then on average it takes them 4-6 mths to conceive naturally. I think it takes so long to conceive afterwards because it takes a while for the uterus to recover and the lining to fully grow back. I do remember the period I had the month before we conceived was the worst one to date. My doctor said it was most likely because my lining had finally regenerated completely and I was healed.
I wish you luck and hope you all have quick ttc times. Try not to get discouraged if it takes a couple of months though, it's just your body healing.
hmm... My fertility specialist put me on estrogen and then added progesterone this month (following the surgery) to get the lining to grow back. Were you guys put on these too following your surgery?
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement I had mine removed in March of this year. My doctor placed an IUD in right after the surgery so that my uterus could heal. I just took it out finally three weeks ago and started trying right away. I am hoping that since the surgery was in the beginning of this year, I have given my uterus plenty of time to heal and that I will be able to concieve quickly. *fingers crossed*
well congratulations on your pregnancy starrbabes! That's very exciting! and thanks for your encouraging words too, It's always hugely helpful to hear a positive story shared from someone in your same predicament.
so you are 20 weeks, do you know the sex yet?
off subject, hopefully this isnt too gross to mention, but I just got my first period since the resection and there is SO much blood... Was this the case for everyone else?
also, did anyone have a follow up HSG after the surgery and if so, was it painful at all as a result from the surgery?
thanks!

I have a septate uterus also and my hubby and I are expecting our first right now. When I was diagnosed with it, they classed it as a "normal aberration" and said that there is nothing that would interfere with ttc or pregnancy. Mine is tiny, just a nubbin or outward type of dimple on an otherwise smooth surface.
Thank you ladies! My OB was great about explaining it to me - she made a point of letting me know that mine wasn't considered a problem. I'm really thankful for that!
