***September testing group***

@cheerios, that Chinese medicine woman might mean well but is definitively incorrect. Bodies don’t work like that. Also PS I got pregnant my FIRST ovulation postpartum and DTD ONE time that month and that’s all after turning 40 in May. She wants to sell you her supplements so she’s using a fear tactic. Which doesn’t mean the supplements don’t work. But the fear part doesn’t.

I should be 10DPO today myself. Testes BFN yesterday morning. I’m away at the moment and don’t have any tests with me and so badly want to test. [-(

Will have to wait until tomorrow evening now but at least at 11DPO it should show either way! Terrified!

@MrsKatie
I’m so worried now. Even if u Google it says fertility plummets after 40. So maybe the Chinese women is right in that case I definitely don’t stand a chance.

I Should be about 18 weeks pregnant now and instead I’m worrying if I will ever fall again or even if I do I will just lose it again.

Literally feel like my bubble has been totally burst.

43 a week b4 Christmas which isn’t that far off now thinking about it:cry:

Ok so I'm kind of freaking out a little bit! Here's a quick version of my back story...

I just turned 37 last week. During this cycle, I got Covid. It was during that time that I should have ovulated. I did OPKs afterwards to try to track my cycle so that I'd know when my period would be expected. The last time I got Covid and whenever I've gotten vaccinated, my cycles have always been thrown off. So instead of getting a +opk on cd 16, I got a + on cd 22 (6 days later). My husband and I did the deed on cd 24 (so one day post ovulation if I ovulated 24 hours after +opk). That puts me at today being 12 dpo. I took a test this morning and it was a definite bfn. I decided to test this afternoon after a several hour hold, and this shows up. I'm not sure if I should trust it as the only possible time we could have conceived would have been 1 dpo and I had a clear bfn this morning.

Oh that’s so clear too see. Is that clinical guard? I used them with my son and they were so good. They have raving reviews too.
That definitely looks BFP.

fingers crossed for you.

I had covid in July and it messed with my cycles too. I always ovulate on day 13 but didn’t ovulate until cd21 last cycle and now cd12 and negative opks still but there getting darker so will if tomorrow is peak because I can ovulate the same day or day after peak.
But tbh I think it will be late again. Hoping not as late as day 21 again.

will you be testing again?

Just did more opks and feel like it’s getting close. Of coarse I know with OPKs they mite be very faint again tomorrow and I may not ovulate for another 8 days. ignore the pink handle one. Got those of eBay for real cheap and they are crappy.
Never had issues with wondfo and easy&home so I know they are accurate.90A90C78-1105-468B-AD5C-5D68BF8489FF.jpeg

Well I’m still having mild cramping off and on, other than that no other “pregnancy” symptoms. Just after O symptoms like sore boobs and off and on headache. :(

Oh hun I'm sorry for worrying you. But you had a baby at 41, didn't you? That means your fertility didn't plummet after 40! I have this theory that once you've been pregnant and you don't wait too long to get pregnant again, say 1-2 years, your body still knows how to get pregnant and it will happen soon again! Kinna like being in the cycle of pregnancy. It sorta worked for me for 4 children. I had a 2-3 years age gap between all 4 and always fell pregnant at the drop of a hat. This is the first time I took such a long break. My 4th is turning 4 by the end of this month, so I'm thinking my body went into "sleep" mode about pregnancy. Hoping my recent m/c might kick it back into getting into a healthy pregnancy again. Well; that's my logic and I did read somewhere that a good time to get pregnant is around 1-2 years after the birth of a baby.

Oh hun! That totally comforted me!! You're right about the sell tactic of the Chinese doctor! I really need to be careful about what I believe. I certainly choose to believe what my German gynae says about women fertility rather than the Chinese doctor. I always feel one is extra fertile after giving birth! If it's a short time period. I always wanted to have 2 children with a very small age gap but the hubby was never keen about it. How's your pregnancy?? I'm thinking it's much smoother now??

Covid screwed up my cycles too. Went from a 30 to 40 days cycle and I conceived the next cycle but only ovulated around day 28. Ended up pregnant but miscarrying at 5 weeks. I'm a bit unsettled about this whole Covid-screwed-up cycles bit and am thinking I really should wait it out before trying again, but time isn't on my side. Sooo oh boy....

@cheerios
Oh love please don’t worry. You had a right to tell us about this women as it effected you.
I reckon she is just trying to make money because after I had my son I spoke to midwives and most recently a nurse who said it’s very possible to have a baby at 43 and that they do have ladies that are 43 and pregnant.
Google makes me worry because it’s so negative against older women having babies and think it gives me about a 2% chance with a 50% chance of losing but then what about these women that do have babies at 43 44 and even 45.

I’m gonna keep trying for my rainbow and pray that one day it will happen and for you too love.

We both must be fertile still to fall pregnant. I fell in April and June.
It’s just the sticking bit.

urghh its so stressful.

praying we both get our rainbows soon love [-o<

Perhaps test again? Looks promising!

Sigh im feeling so down lately, I just want to be a mom so bad :( I truly feel like I’m out but I still have 4 more days.

Oh @PinkCupcakes I'm so so sorry you feel like this I want to give you a massive :hugs: might not help but it might, I think when us women no we no but saying that I felt so out this month so anything possible I'm praying in these 4 days you see a beautiful line xx

I’ve had so much to catch up on and I only missed a day!

@tdog OMG! The TICKER!!! Congratulations lovely! :happydance:

@Momof2onetube well hello there, long time no see! I’m very happy to see you back around here! How have you been?

@Suggerhoney the OPKs are looking good, fingers crossed it won’t be long!

@cheerios the Chinese doctor is talking poo, there’s no other way to put it! Firstly, it’s very individual, yes fertility declines with age but it’s gradual and the exact age will vary between women. For example, there’s evidence that women with PCOS remain fertile for longer and also that a lot of women will experience a surge in their fertility before the menopause. Our nurse manager at work just had an oops baby at the age of 43 and her other kids are well into school age now. I know another woman who got accidentally pregnant with twins in her mid 40s and her older kids were also school age.
I’m 39 too and totally get the worry about time running out, it’s on my mind a lot too but don’t let people who are possibly trying to make money off you by selling herbs etc get you down. You’re still in with a chance!
I’ll stop ranting now :haha:

@PinkCupcakes I just want to give you a massive hug. I want so badly for you to get that baby you’ve been hoping for, for such a long time now :hugs:

I’m CD11 and would usually be at least a week off ovulation if I was having an ovulatory cycle (we all know how hit and miss my ovaries can be) but have been getting EWCM for a couple of days and my OPKs are nearly positive so might be heading for an earlier than usual ovulation. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!
